We stayed the first weekend of October. What a pleasant surprise! All employees were very friendly and attentive. The accommodations were were clean and comfortable. I can’t say enough about the four course meal that was included! One of the best meals I’ve ever had! The chefs at The Post know what they’re doing! I honestly thought I wouldn’t like anything on the menu, but my goodness! Was I surprised! The cookies and milk that came with the turndown service was a nice touch! They also have a continental breakfast included, but it was anything but! Fresh pastries, fruit, coffee and sausage and egg on English muffin were perfect prior to a day of hiking! We will definitely stay here again when coming through again!
Impeccable service. Warm atmosphere. Terrific food. The family ownership passion for their product is always on display. The only issue is the rooms are dated and mostly smaller bed options. Not much can be done about it as the hotel was built decades ago. Really enjoyed it all. The hotel was more of a total experience than a stay at a hotel. Their COVID protocols were excellent. Only registered guests who proved to be double vaccinated can stay and dine.
This hotel was incredible the minute we drove upto the hotel. We were immediately greeted by a wonderful gentleman who took our suitcases and parked our car for us. We proceeded to the front desk where we were given information regarding our reservation as well Covid precautions that were being taken admist the pandemic. We received a complimentary upgrade to two double beds which was great. The hotel room was beautiful with gorgeous wood panelling and an outdoor terrace where we would enjoy our breakfast. It was the small touches that made this hotel stay a wonderful experiences from the milk and Cookies for the turn down service, the French China dishes that had q-tips and make up wipes to the robes and slippers. My girlfriends husband ordered us champagne before we got there and they put that in the cellar for us. The food, included in the hotel price, was delicious from the fondue to the a la cart menu which changed daily. They started to get to know us which added a special touch. When I come back, I will absolutely be staying this hotel. Could not be happier how our trip started off.…
We stayed at many high end different hotels all over the world, but we never experienced what we had at Post hotel and spa. Post Hotel and Spa is the best. The service was excellent as well as the food. We used the bikes, pool and even got a massage. When we come back to Banff/Lake Louise, we would definitely come back at Post for the whole duration of the trip and will recommend it to everyone.
This hotel has gained its status as a Relais for a reason. Staying here is an experience to be savored and appreciated. Staff are top-notch and it is easy to identify senior staff who have been there many years and are true pros. Yes there is a rustic-ness to the property and yes, furnishings are old and somewhat dated, but they are classic and of top quality that help make the hotel what it is. The other common theme amongst many of the reviews is being on the ‘train’ side vs being on the river side. My recommendation to fellow travelers would be if you’re looking for a ‘value’ experience or are a tad more budget conscious, then stay on the train side knowing a train will be going by every half hour, but it is still to be enjoyed. After all, this is one of the original Canadian Rockies’ railroad towns reaped in history - is this not one of the things that brings us to places like this?! Being on the other side with the river rushing by and the ski hill as a backdrop is therapeutic. Restaurant was a treat in itself and the sommelier picked us a perfect bottle of wine from Napa; a newer wine, but one of only 6 bottles the restaurant was allocated. The topper for us during dinner though was when a gentleman showed up at our table in a suit and seemingly charged with planning breakfast for the following morning. He asked for my wife (there was 4 of us at the table), then proceeded to clarify with her her dietary restrictions to make sure they had it right for the next day! Attention to detail was impeccable. We will be back.…
