We had a fantastic 3-night stay at the Lake Louise Inn last week. We stayed in a recently renovated Junior Suite. The room was spacious and nicely appointed. The full sized kitchen was well stocked with cookware and utensils. Restaurant options in the area are limited, so we were happy to be able to cook in and save some money. This was the closest hotel to the slopes, which was particularly appealing to us...especially on a powder morning which delayed many folks who were staying in Banff. Amenities such an an indoor pool (which we didn't use), a reasonably equipped fitness center (good to maintain the home routine), and laundry facilities (expensive, but convenient) make this a good value. This has more of a "lodge feel" than a fancy atmosphere (like the big hotel across the lake), but we found it to be quiet, comfortable and unpretentious. We'd surely stay here again in the future if/when we make it back to Lake Louise.…
We stayed here as a family, we were lucky that we were upgraded to a 2 bedroom condo, which was amazing. It was just a shame we were only staying one night as we were not able to make the most of all the facilities. The evening meal was good, but the breakfast buffet was out of this world, wow what a selection, everything you could think of to eat for breakfast
RATING Overall 3 Service 4 Value 3 Sleep Quality 2 Cleanliness 3 Location 4 Rooms 2 Spa 4 We stayed at the Lake Louise Inn March 2023 for a family ski trip. Overall we gave it a 3. Issues with the heating, but still workable and besides it's the only place in the area with non-stratospheric prices. Value --- Pricey! CAD313 a night for the two of us in a two queen bed room. Location: in the village, as close as you can get to the ski hill. Walking distance to the Samson Mall (a few shops, restaurant). The downside to staying in Lake Louise is, extremely limited shopping, restaurants and services. You could stay in Banff but that adds a 3/4 hour drive at each end of the day. The other two hotels in the village are mega dollars. Reservations, check-in and check-out no issues. Service: front desk staff were courteous and knowledgeable. The building ... It's an old building (our building #2) Halls / public spaces generally good except watch footing on some steps to the second storey balcony / walkway due to salt damage on the concrete steps. Needs some work. Parking and car access is weird: "you can't get there from here". Find your way around. "Spa": There are three hot tubs of varying temperatures. They were pretty grungy (soap suds) the first night we were there; expected them to be cleaned out the second night but no. Funny because otherwise the pool area is clean, pool towels are stocked. The main swimming pool is great for kids. Not too cold, not too deep and big enough (guess about 15m long). Showers and lockers downstairs but the showers lack shampoo and conditioner dispensers like in the rooms. The room ... #2213 Size - not palatial but big enough for the two queen beds and some room to move around. Bathroom: dated (tile and counter), but all in working order. Low flush toilet. Tub is very slippery. Bathroom exhaust fan sounded like a 747 jet. Sleep Quality: the bed was good but ooh, those rooms are HOT despite turning the thermostat down. Noise not a problem. I rather like the sound of the one or two train whistles you hear in the night. Cleanliness: carpet was as clean as they could get a worn out old carpet. Must be tough to maintain with people tromping around in ski boots. Alas, ours was not one of the rooms with a nice little ski locker by the door. Electrical: bring a plug splitter, not enough conveniently located outlets for all your devices. Amenities ... Internet - works well although a trifle slow. Coffee maker was not stocked with decaf'. Pity. Fridge thankfully a large one for a "bar" fridge and quiet. TV, channels: big screen TV with large assortment of channels. The remote on ours only worked for channel down. Tips to get a good room: Avoid building #2, ours was not the only room that was too hot. …
Lake Louse Inn, great hotel, lovely rooms at a reasonable price. Easy access to the Ski Hill and local shopping and great restaurant options, especially for breakfast and the Pizza restaurant. The staff are delightful and very helpful. Cannot recommend enough.
Stayed at Lake Louise Inn for a week during a skiing holiday. Enjoyed it as always, good value for money, comfortable room and good facilities. Great convenient location for other local bars and restaurants and handy free shuttle to the ski area. We enjoyed the Explorers Lounge and the Timberwolf Restaurant as well as breakfast in Legends a couple of times during our stay.
Excellent staff, clean room, nice variety of good restaurants, hot jacuzzi, handy shuttle to the ski area, ski storage on sight, decent fitness center. Overall good value and hope to go back in the summer.
Comfortable updated rooms. Great restaurants and bar on site. Best part was the staff, very friendly, helpful, and willing to do the little extra that is always (at least by me!) appreciated. Highly recommend.
I stayed at the Lake Louise Inn in the 1990's as a student. It was nice enough then, but the renovations and upgrades make it an entirely different place - in a good sense. The staff is extremely professional and helpful. The maid service is great. We had the loft apartment, quoted to sleep 8, but it seems to me that it would be crowded. The four of us were very comfortable there, with enough room for all the ski stuff. The pool and jacuzzi are well maintained. The restaurants on the spot are good. I even used the laundry - it was clean, easy to get the change for operating it, and had a vending machine in the laundry room where you could buy Tide in small boxes if you did not bring your own. The ski shuttle goes every 1/2 hour in the morning , and from the ski base, every 1/2 hour in the afternoon and takes 10mins. I would be very happy to stay here again.…
We chose Lake Louise Inn for our family holiday as it looked like a traditional hotel with stone walls and lots of wood.. it didn’t disappoint! It was also a great size and not a huge overwhelming hotel. The communal areas are excellent and my daughter thoroughly enjoyed the pool and my son used the small gym which had all the weights and cardio equipment he required in it. The pizza restaurant was fab and had lots of choices.. not just pizza! The Legends restaurant was a bit hit and miss.. a bit more of a pub vibe and was quite expensive however if you are not a massive eater then the kid’s portions are adequate and more reasonably priced- as they are generally the same size as an English plate. Breakfast was amazing and plenty of choice. Staff were incredibly helpful and went out of their way to find me some milk when our room was not replenished (someone needs to learn how to make beds properly in housekeeping if they are coming in to service the rooms however) but this was a minor issue! Our room was upgraded to two queen beds which was nice but I would recommend that if you are a light sleeper ask for a room not overlooking the indoor pool area as it is quite noisy and open until 10.00pm which is quite late if you are tired after a busy days activities and need to sleep early which we did. Overall experience was very positive for a first time to Canada and would definitely recommend to anyone thinking of going to this area and would definitely go back to Lake Louise Inn. Thank you to all the staff who made us feel very welcome 🙏 …
This hotel is a great pick for those who are skiing at lake Louise. Close to the hill with a free bus shuttle to the hill. It has 3 different restaurants inside it, offers Starbucks coffee, and has a decent sized indoor pool. There are 3 indoor hot tubs (1 larger with no jets, 2 smaller tubs with jets) but they get crowed quickly, so the adult time from 9-10PM is your best time to visit the hot tub. Standard rooms that won’t blow you away but they work. Overall great hotel!
