Stayed for one night. Great place with good facilities and friendly helpful staff. Pricey though - but I guess that is Banff. Paying per person rather than by room must also put the price up - but was probably still one of the cheaper options...More
The staff surprised me by helping me reserve a lower bunk bed away from the door, deeply appreciated their help in this case. Very quiet and clean, just that the hostel is a bit of a walk from the town. I was lucky that i...More
My wife and I enjoyed 5 nights at Hi Banff, which has two buildings, and a good view.
We had our own, clean, good-sized bedroom and ensuite in the newer building, which was generally very quiet; we actually met only a few people. (Lots of...More

Hi, all three of the snow resorts have transportation leaving from the town. Norquay is 10 minutes away, Sunshine is 20 minutes and Lake Louise is 40 minutes away. All three have their advantages and it's worth visiting all of them! The HI-Banff gives guests a free city bus pass, so you can take the transit right from outside the hostel to the snow bus hub and from there to your ski/board destination - plus it gives you transportation to a lot of the other local attractions for free.
