The Chalets were quaint and very well kept. The decoration was with the period and time and they were very clean. The lodge area provided an excellent breakfast in the morning - before our hiking began, and a wonder dinner in the evening when we returned.

We are 2 couples on our 2nd annual hiking trip. We are in our cabins in the am to shower, dress, eat breakfast, and make our lunches. We return after a day of hiking and eating dinner out. Our cabin (#19) was clean with a comfortable king bed. Our friends were in #18. There was plenty of room for all... More

Wow...We booked the one bedroom chalet for the September Long Weekend, and were blown away. Wow....it was so very beautiful and large. It had everything we were looking for. A nice sitting area with fire place. Large kitchen area fully stocked and a huge bathroom, complete with jacuzzi tub and shower. All within driving distance to Lake Louise and Banff.... More

This is my second stay at the Castle Mountain Chalets in 2 years. Last year when I stayed there, I was in a deluxe one bedroom cabin. This year, since there were no deluxe one bedroom’s available, I stayed in the Pine Chalet. Even though it was smaller than then one bedroom, it had enough space for me. The bathroom... More

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your recent stay. It's nice to hear that you enjoyed the smaller cabin after having stayed in the deluxe on a previous visit. They are a little more rustic, but definitely lend that "Rocky Mountain" charm. Due to our location, getting a good internet signal can be challenging but... More

We used Castle Mountain Chalets as a rendezvous point for meeting travelers. While waiting for our friends to pick us up, we chatted with Melissa about local info for hikers, wildlife sightings and admired how well their store is stocked with just about anything you might imagine you can need, even though it is a fairly remote location. Melissa is... More

My husband and I with our son and daughter in law had read reviews of the Castle Mountain Chalets and were really looking forward to our visit. When we checked in to our 2bd deluxe chalet were were seriously disappointed. It was small, cramped, and dingy and poorly insulted from the adjoining cabin. The heat did not work, a fuse... More

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us. My apologies that our resort did not meet your expectations. You are correct, the two-bedroom cabins are older and more rustic than the one bedroom deluxe cabins, which have been recently updated/upgraded. The two-bedroom cabin is 680 square feet, much larger than the average hotel room and... More

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights. The cabins are nice and well setup with everything you need. Unfortunately the it is located right next to the main train line through the Canadian mountains. On our first night there were 5 or 6 trains between 11:00pm and 5:00 am. Each train blasts its horn as it goes by... More

Castle Mountain Chalets are the most beautiful cabin chalets I have seen in the entirety of Banff/Lake Louise. My family and I are always searching for a place to stay that provides ample kitchen amenities and great wildlife viewing opportunities, and Castle Mountain Chalets is definitely that place. We appreciated the chalets for their quiet mid-point location between crowded Banff and Lake Louise. I'm very sensitive to noise, but don't recall the train being a problem. We were in cabin #12 though which was probably one of the furthest away from the train. When we saw locations of some of the other cabins, we felt fortunate for our... More

The cabin, property, and front store are just too cute and clean for words to describe. Chalet suite was great for family. But, there were grizzly bears (plural) very near the complex.
