We were staying at the Caribou lodge as part of our Rocky Mountaineer tour, it's like a giant but cosy log cabin, the decor beautifully reflecting this theme. The hotel is slightly out of town but they do give you complimentary bus tickets,it was such a pleasant 15 minute walk that we didn't use the bus. The staff were all very friendly which was true of everywhere that we stayed in Canada. Breakfast in the Keg restaurant was very good with plenty of choice, the display of fresh fruit was especially notable. Banff is a lovely town with lots to see and do and plenty of restaurants and bars, there is also a really good supermarket if you need some supplies.Would certainly recommend the Caribou lodge as a base to explore the area.

Four days in Banff after a busy time in Vancouver and Calagary. Arrived early afternoon to find check in starts at 4pm. However, able to store luggage.Keg bar was open for food and drinks (we had breakfast here on our last day - $20 per person for buffet) but we decided to take a walk into town. Hotel provided free passes for local shuttle bus, with stops very near to hotel. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay (checking transfers etc). Large, inviting lounge area at the front of the hotel. Our room was comfortable and clean. Unfortunately, did feel a bit confined due to sloping ceiling and dark decor (did not appreciate khaki green walls and dark furniture). Understand this reflects my taste and it may well fit in with the lodge theme. Did not spoil our stay. Could do with a little more storage - asked for more hangars, which were quickly provided. Free coffee in reception each morning and water during the day. Although not party animals, we do enjoy a couple of drinks in the bar after a busy day sightseeing but surprised by early closing time (11pm) and were conscious of the staff moving in to clean and set up for breakfast, whilst we were still finishing our drinks. Spa was closed twice to guests during our short stay. Hotel is well placed for town centre and all amenities. A 15 - 20 minute walk on the flat or a couple of minutes on the shuttle bus. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

On arrival at our hotel, we were checked in by Jacob, who was super welcoming andn helpful. We noticed he was from Australia (we're NZers) and got chatting straight away. He made us feel very welcome instantly. Thanks Jacob.

This visit was part or a trip on the Rocky Mountaineer, when we arrived the Hotel room and all facilities were available. We immediately travelled around Banff and it did not take long to see what a lovely location Banff is. After a few hours of wandering around we returned to the Hotel and enjoyed a mid day meal and refreshments. Later in the evening we ate an excellent meal in the hotel restaurant. Could have stayed there longer but had an early morning start. The Hotel staff were friendly, well informed and smiled a lot. I hope that the Hotel can retain the past and move forward. Would love to return during the winter. Whilst some of the hotel

We stayed at the Caribou Hotel & Spa on 30th May, the day before my birthday. The room was full of solid wood gorgeous furniture. The reception staff were so helpful and gave us a map and free bus tickets to explore the town. We had a few drinks in the bar which was really friendly and buzzing. We then ate in the restaurant. I had a lovely steak, cooked to perfection and my husband had told the waitress (unbeknown to me) that I would be celebrating my birthday and she brought me a beautiful cake. Not the cmost expensive hotel of our holiday but definitely the best. Would absolutely stay there again.
