We stayed in the Norquay Room. Our room and everything about our stay was first-rate. The B&B is located on a quiet street, with on-premises parking. The Tunnel Mountain trailhead, Bow River, and downtown are all within easy walking distance. We appreciated having sodas in the fridge by our room and other snacks downstairs. The hosts, Pete and Alex, were friendly and great sources of information and suggestions. (They also accommodated our very late arrival.) The breakfasts, which were different each morning, were a highlight. Pete manned the front while Alex, whose father was a Banff chef, made good things happen in the kitchen. Everything was perfect and we would be delighted to stay here again.

My wife and I stayed at Thea's House in September 2023 and had a fabulous stay. The hosts had thought of so many things to make our stay comfortable and the food was fantastic. If you have to miss a breakfast to get an early start they will make you a lunch, but you really shouldn't miss breakfast. It was a month ago and we are still talking about it. The room was large and had all the amenities. The bed was comfortable. The location in Banff makes for easy walking to all sorts of restaurants and shopping. If we ocme back to the area we will most assuredly stay here again.

My wife and I stayed six nights and had our overall best B&B experience ever. First, the room was spacious and impeccably clean, had a very comfortable bed with a nice mountain view from the balcony, and the breakfasts, always-available baked goods and snacks were wonderful. Each day the breakfast offerings were different and always gourmet quality. The owners were also very accommodating to our dietary restrictions and even packed us a delicious lunch for the airport when we had to leave early before we could enjoy all three breakfast courses the day we departed. The Nespresso machine in the room was also a nice touch. The location was perfect as it was less than a 5 minute walk to downtown Banff, the Tunnel Mountain Trail and the Bow River trail. They also provide complimentary hiking equipment (bear spray, crampon ice cleats) and bicycles.

However, best of all were the owners--Alex and Pete. What a tremendous young couple. We quickly fell in love with their genuine warmth and kindness and felt like we were staying with family. Alex prepared excellent meals and provided good guidance on dining and experiences around Banff. Pete was just the nicest fellow one could ever hope to meet. He too gave invaluable hiking and scenery advice. It was truly a pleasure to meet such fine people, and admittedly we were a bit sad when we had to leave. We hope they continue to operate this quality property for decades to come.

Finally, there are only four rooms at Thea's House, so I cannot recommend strongly enough you make this your No. 1 choice for lodging in Banff if you can snag a reservation. I promise you will not regret doing so.

The best B&B my husband and I have ever been to...and we've seen many across the globe... The hosts, Alexandra and Pete, are such incredible hosts that we were speechless. The breakfast is amazing to say the least - feels more like a *** Breakfast Restaurant with added rooms. Next to the overall very cozy, warm and welcoming atmosphere of the B&B as such, the well thought-trough room amenities, including the Jacuzzi bath tub and Nespresso machine, are to be highlighted. One of the best 'Home away from Home' that you can imagine. The location is perfect - it is within walking distance to the Banff Avenue. If you like Japanese food, make sure to make a reservation at the first restaurant you pass by coming from the B&B when you go downtown.

B&B really does not do Thea’s House justice, it is an exceptional place to stay in Banff and only a short walk from the centre.

From the off, we received a warm welcome from the owners, Albert and Esther. We had booked a deluxe corner room and the room was fairly spacious and, whilst there was plenty hanging space, drawer space was limited. However, this did not detract from the pleasure we had staying here.

The famous 3-course breakfast was fabulous every morning. In fact there was enough in course 2 to make a packed sandwich lunch and Esther and Albert encouraged this by providing sandwich bags on the table. Although the prices are on the high side (not helped by the weak value of Sterling) the value for money is excellent given all the “extras” that are provided/loaned, for example:- bikes & helmets; snacks and “cake of the day” at the front door; umbrellas; walking poles & rucksacks; water filter in room fridge, wine supply on an “honesty” basis and bear spray!!

Albert and Esther are a font of knowledge on the area having lived in Banff for over 40 years so were able to give excellent recommendations on walks, cycles and restaurants.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay and would not hesitate to book again if we are ever in the area.

Fantastic Accommodations & Hospitality !
Theas House was an amazing place to stay in Banff. Our King corner suite was beautiful as was the whole B&B which was in walking distance of everything in Banff. Alex and Peter were wonderful hosts who suggested places to dine, helped us navigate to excursions, and provided over the top breakfasts (even one to take with us when a tour was leaving earlier than the breakfast time! Another nice touch is they had a supply of hiking sticks and crampons that could be borrowed for hikes.
Don’t look anywhere else - this is the best accommodations you can book in Banff!

Big hotels can afford to spend $$$ for best placement on the web. Skip them and find the best experience in the small, caring and one-of-a-kind accommodation. Such was our experience at Thea's House. Nice large guest room with full amenities. Comfortable common areas. Huge, imaginative, muti-course breakfasts each morning with caring daily service from the owners. Walking distance to main streets, shops, restaurants, nightlife, public transport. This B&B will add to your Banff experience

I took my wife here for her birthday and it was an amazing stay. Alex and Pete were great hosts and we felt at home the entire stay.

The breakfasts each morning were amazing, with a starter (fruit and / or yogurt) a big charcuterie board with bread / croissants, and a hot meal (french toast, poached eggs, etc.). Everything was home made and with very good quality ingredients.

The room was very nice as well with a very comfortable bed, in room fireplace, and the location of the hotel is great, being only a few minutes walk from town.

Overall we had a fantastic experience here and would highly recommend anyone coming to Banff to consider staying here vs a traditional hotel.

My wife and I were absolutely charmed by our stay at Thea's house for our honeymoon. The Rundle room was beautful and airy, the bathroom was spacious and full of natual light. Praticularly enjoyed the glass shower, extra large bathtub and Nespresso machine.

Breakfast was next level. Three courses that were as tasty as artful, in a bright and homey atmosphere. We enjoyed chatting with our hosts and the other couples over breakfast.

The setting is perfect. Just a stroll to downtown but set up the hill far enough to feel free of the bustle. Right at the foot of Tunnel Mountain so you can easily start your morning with a stroll for a panoramic view of Banff.

Also free for our use were hiking poles, bear spray, two bikes, hiking guides, and little bags to pack up our leftovers for lunch. Thanks Albert and Esther. We hope to stay again sometime!

Alexandra and Pete were absolutely the best hosts. The location was perfect. Parking on site… a must we discovered in Banff. Breakfast was outstanding. We used the second course to make sandwiches for lunch. They provided environmentally friendly bags for the sandwiches and snacks were bountiful. The room was immaculate and comfortable with a little balcony. Fluffy towels!!! Alexandra gave fabulous hiking advice and Pete had excellent dining advice. All in all a spectacular experience.
