A very nice campground close to banff itself. Free showers and firewood. Very open campsites and even though there is a "quiet time " I found the campsites around us were often very loud. It never woke the kids though. It was cold and rainy in June when we went but we still had a great time. Lots of hiking... More

A nice campground with good wooded areas that provide a windbreak and shade from the sun. Definitely the best campsite in Canada I've been to, as they had good showers, sufficient hot water, and decent sized campsites. Just know that if you want to have a campfire, that's going to be a little extra cost in addition to the campsite... More

Coming from BC where most campgrounds charge money for showers, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that I didn't need to pay for showers here. We had been camping for 2 weeks already on our cross-BC/Banff trip when we arrived at Tunnel Mountain. The washrooms were immaculate. All campsites were well maintained, clear of debris, and nicely spaced out. The... More

An excellent campsite with good facilities - clean and warm. As a first timer from the UK with an RV it was a delight to find ourselves camping in such beautiful surroundings. The staff on the reception were extremely helpful and courteous. Hope to return next year

All in all this is a very nice campground with nice bathrooms and showers. There are food lockers for bears if required but you must bring your own lock. Since there are no power hook ups or Water hook ups in this campground the Water fill station at the front by check in was a bit of a line up... More

A good camping site with hot water, showers and flush toilets. If you can't make it to two jack camping is a good alternative. Go earlier to two jack campground to get a spot if you want to camp in a better campsite by the lake and not too far away from Banff either

We have never camped in such a noisy place! Highway 1 seemed to be busy almost 24-7 and the whistle happy railroad made up most of the noise. Not kidding it WAS noisy! On the plus side the campground supplied blocks of wood provided one has an axe to split it. The showers were outdated but never seemed to run... More

Even though its a huge campground it didn't feel like it. Camped in C47 for 4 nights, the sites are plenty big for a car and 2 tents, semi private, some have views of the surrounding mountains. We were automatically charged for campfire permits when we reserved, since we didn't have an ax, we collected leftover pieces of wood that... More

We really enjoyed our time here. Conveniently located and really nice to have fire wood provided (and no fire ban!). Park staff were friendly and helpful. Beautiful scenery all around. The kids loved it. Only thing to keep in mind is if you arrive Friday afternoon it can take quite a while to check in (long line to get in)

This is a beautiful campground with large sites that are nicely spaced from other sites. Each has a fire circle, picnic table and plenty of room for your vehicle and tent. It is a large campground, and when I booked, I was afraid that it would feel crowded and be noisy. It was just the opposite... the campsite was quiet... More
