Our stay started on an unhappy note. I found a pre authorisation on my card for the amount of one nights stay. This would have been fine except that I was not told that this would happen and therefore she did not have my permission to do so. When we arrived we found a note on the door saying that... More

Elyse, I am sorry that you did not know that I would pre-authorize your card but that is a common practice in this business. When you give your card number and the expiration date out you are agreeing to the terms of the Inn or hotel and the cancellation policy. I did not charge you until after you left. You... More

We arrived, with another couple , sharing the two bedrooms, and it was perfect for the four of us. We had the breakfast nook/gathering room, all to ourselves. Susan was the perfect hostess. I told her I was gluten free at my arrival, and she made sure to take care of it. My breakfast was as beautiful as everyones, and... More

I read meghanm487 review saying it was "Disappointing way to kick-off vacation in Canadian Rockies" with dismay. My husband and I along with another couple just spent 4 nights at The Poplar Inn. The first thing you notice is the charming Victorian look of the Inn. The owner, Susan, greeted us when we arrived. She was very welcoming and informative... More

This B&B is located in a quiet location in Banff. A block in either direction and you're either on the Bow River walk or on Wolf Street, which takes to to "where it's happening" in Banff. This is so much better than staying on busy Banff Avenue!!! Susan, our hostess, was very helpful when it came to planning what to... More

We visited The Poplar Inn for six nights whilst in Banff and what a find! Sue was a really good host and is a mine of information. Our room, Maple, was perfect with our own little deck and views of the garden. When we arrived Susan was unable to be there but that was not a problem as she left... More

Much to my dismay, the Poplar Inn was not nearly as charming as depicted online (and on Trip Advisor!!). My partner and I arrived after a long day of travel only to find that Susan's wifi was not working, an issue I was willing to overlook based on the location of the property (e.g., perhaps the mountains are ill-suited to... It seems a strange thing to say that I don't care about the internet being down when that is how I run my business. The internet went down the day they arrived and I phoned telus right away. They told me the I needed a new router and it would take two days for it to arrive, Nothing I could... More

What a marvellous start to our tour of the Rockies. Thank you Susan. A lovely host serving us a varied and ample breakfast. Unlimited coffee if you wanted it. Staying for a chat while we ate she gave us advice on what we planned to do that day. There are only 2 bedrooms on the ground floor sharing a joint... More

2 bedrooms sharing a communial kitchen/breakfast room and has its own street door. Comfortable and spacious bedroom. Susan's breakfasts were good and she readily shared her local knowledge and suggestions where to visit. A great find.

Susan was a gracious host, making sure we were well looked after. We were there with our adult son so we booked both rooms and had the common area to ourselves. Rooms were clean and comfortable and breakfasts were delicious. Would definitely stay again.

I didn't want to stay in a kind of hotel in Banff. I wanted to feel something very special in the warm and cozy place. Luckily, The Poplar Inn had the vacancy so I just made the reservation for our wonderful trip. 1. Location The location is the best since it is just 5-minute walk from the main Banff street....
