The meal came with vegetable crisps out of a packet and about three cuts of carrots. When I complained saying I was told I would have cauliflower, broccoli and carrots the bar tender... More

Visited this pub after it was recommended by a friend, and we weren't disappointed! Had a fabulous range of real ales and good, tasty home cooked food. The staff were very friendly and attentive and we ll definitely be back!

What a fantastic pub, great real ales, top quality pub food and dog friendly as well, the accommodation is very clean and well set out, with polite welcoming staff, I have looked through some of the other comments on here and I can only say that The Old Poets Corner is a CAMRA award winning pub (2015) that's serves pub... The three of us were made very welcome by Dale and all of the staff at this gem of a pub. Try the food, the excellent home-brewed beers, and just soak up the atmosphere for an hour or two. Alternatively do as we did and stay for the whole weekend!

This was only an overnight stay but we were made very welcome in this old quaint pub. The pub & restaurant were busy for mid week which is a good sign. We were meeting friends for dinner and the food was excellent well presented & tasty I'm only sorry I didn't have room for one of the great choice of... More

We used to come here lots over the past few years and always found it busy with good food and friendly welcome. We have been very disappointed on our last few visits . Something has changed over the last year or two and it's not for the good. The last couple of times that we have been the service has... More

Stayed here for our anniversary. The area has some good walks and the scenery is stunning. The pub is the most friendliest and relaxed that we've ever been in. The choice of real ales is excellent and the food is fantastic (only criticism is the portions were too big for me!) staff are very friendly too and the locals live... More

Great pub with a fantastic atmosphere! Amazing live bands and open mic night. Very dog friendly pub, and a nice warm countryside vibe. Fantastic freshly made food and lovely en-suite rooms. All round an outstanding pub.
