I have stayed for 2 nights, Tues to Thurs and been impressed with both the comfort and friendliness. Staff have been helpful and approachable, dealing with queries promptly and efficiently. Breakfast was hot, tasty with plenty of choice. Although I can imagine it may be noisy over the weekend as you would expect from a pub, during the week it... More

There's plenty to read in all the previous reviews which I read before booking. Chosen because it included breakfast and parking . You check in at the bar , some gents had to move for this to happen. Pleasant young girl ran through the drill . The restaurant isn't open at weekends. Reasons explained in a letter in your room... More

Inspired to write this as I lie in the Bacall Room at 12.30 am in the wonderfully refurbished inn, listening to pissed punters drinking outside. What the website, nor indeed the other reviewers say, is that these are rooms above a pub. There is nothing wonderful nor indeed themed. Mirror is cracked, no bedside lights or side tables, no sound... More

Dear Tamara As the working owner of The Manor House ( I actually checked you in), I feel obliged to respond to your very unfair criticisms of our hotel, & put the record straight in certain areas. You make a determined point of calling us a pub, despite the fact that The Manor House is an 11-bedroom Grade 2 listed... More

Stayed at the Manor while on a walking weekend with friends lovely welcome and bar area. Breakfast was superb but not sure on the themed rooms which consist of a picture on the wall of a Hollywood star and the room named after them!!! Cannot fault our stay and look forward to staying next year

Lovely quaint hotel to stay - also offering tasty tapas for dinner and a delicious full english breakfast in the morning. Rooms were decorated well and the bed was just super comfy! One downside was the parking area - spaces were tight and not much parking available at the end of the day which can be a bit annoying when... More

Love this place for a breakfast. Unknown place really unless you live locally. Nice staff. Best poached eggs ever, and the presentation is excellent. Chef is clearly very talented. The rooms here are beautiful too and the bar and evening crowd is nice Would recommend this place for a stay, a pint, an evening meal and most definitely Breakfast!! Go.... More

We visited yesterday with our neighbours as they were leaving the area and we decided to eat out. When we arrived, the place was completely empty apart from us - we should have realised the reason why! The food was particularly poor - probably the most disappointing meal we have had in some time - and we eat out twice... More

Stayed for two nights whilst away with work. Boutique kind of feel with a Hollywood theme running throughout the rooms. My room was ok, luckily I'm pretty short as the ceiling was very low indeed... Food was average. Dinner was very well presented but not great tasting, little bits not quite as described on the menu. Breakfast was ok though.... More

The room was small, but perfectly decorated. Very comfie bed and extremely helpful and friendly staff. Only down side was the club next door - would have been totally fine if we had been having a late night as the blasting beat stopped completely by about midnight, but until then it really was very loud indeed. I am not sure... More
