My friend booked this place for us thinking that the bistro sounded great and we could enjoy the food for dinner and breakfast. Unfortunately, they stopped serving food at 5pm (didn't tell us) and breakfast consisted of a loaf of sliced white bread, some dodgy looking apples, coco pops, alpen and jam. No cooked breakfast! So we had to drive... More

We were looking for a dog friendly hotel for a night away to celebrate our anniversary - what a find this place was. The staff were really helpful - special mention for Tyler, what a nice guy. We opted for a Tapas selection which turned out to be a very good choice. We were a little concerned when we found... More

We stayed here after a family visit. I booked the rooms not really know much about the place so was pleasantly surprised! Great staff, good restaurant and a 70s night was on (we didn't know this until we arrived!) but it made the night exceptional. Rooms were comfy and toiletries and water were provided. We will be back next year... More

We stayed at this pub/bed and breakfast after visiting family in Chesterfield. What a great find, very comfortable rooms (even had bottled water), good food in the restaurant and VERY reasonably wines. Unbeknown to us there was a 70's evening disco, just our era, and we boogied all night!! Dave (front of house) was very helpful as we're all the... More

We have visited this resteraunt several times up until 1 year ago and we're very happy with the food and service. Our recent visit was dissapointing as the standards had dropped. We both had the steak and ale pie which was small cubes of chewy beef in a very salty gravy and no taste of ale. It was served in... More

We have just had a truly wonderful family party - we were thoroughly spoiled by Jake Tyler and the team . the food and service were second to none. We are never disappointed but my family were bowled over by the whole experience. I would thoroughly recommend it to anybody.

It is now called Coco at The Shoulder now as it has changed hands and been bought by a chain based in Chesterfield. The pub has been pretty much taken over as a restaurant with a small bar and has been glammed up a little from the traditional pub it once was. I spent a couple of months here whilst... More
