Had a family weekend, with some In the Manor and myself in Gardeners Cottage. The cottage was a great calm location directly on the garden, and was appointed to a high standard - even the dog loves the location. The hosts were excellent and the scones delivered warm from the oven with clotted cream - just perfect All set in...

The village of Alstonefield is picture postcard stunning and the exterior of the manor augurs well for what lies beneath.... a 'welcome' gin and tonic for starters, which was certainly a good start to our weekend!... The house itself is a lovely old manor house, in the most beautiful setting with gorgeous views from the bedroom and dining/sitting room windows....

A beautiful setting and house. We had heard great things about this place and it didn't disappoint. From the friendly greeting with gin and tonic when we arrived on the Friday night to the lovely breakfasts, Jo and Rob were the perfect hosts. I would thoroughly recommend Alstonefield Manor to everyone.

My partner and I had a wonderful weekend escape staying in the Gardener's Cottage. It was our first visit to the Peak District and we were awed with how beautiful it is. Rob and Jo could not do enough for us and helped us plan walks nearby. The breakfast was delicious and the Gardener's Cottage was stunning and very cosy....

From the moment we arrived both Rob and Jo made us welcome, from afternoon tea with a wonderful home made sponge cake accompaniment in an historic salon to the beautiful double room overlooking the garden. True, it's not en suite but with a private bathroom a few steps up the corridor this was far from an inconvenience and, after all,...

We were looking for accommodation to base ourselves in to visit the peak district and family in Buxton. By sheer dumb luck we were looking for dates that Wisteria cottage was free and booked up. Rob and Jo at the Manor have this cottage which is even closer to the village pub than they are, which takes some doing. Great...

We had the pleasure of staying with Jo & Robert in the Gardens Cottage. The log burner warmed us, the countryside embraced us and the afternoon cake was without doubt expectational. Book the candlelight breakfast Wonderful
