If you are planning a holiday in the Peak district, then Alstonefield is the place to base yourself. It is a small village off the beaten track, so pretty and with a great pub for excellent food. The place to stay in Alstonefield is with Jo and Rob at the Alstonefield Manor; hospitality par excellence. We have been back twice... More

We arrived at 4-00pm and were shown our room - it was the old nursery. We saw the guest lounge (with complimentary sherry), the large breakfast room - this is where magic happens, every guest sits together and converses!! More later. We then had afternoon tea on the lawn looking over the most beautiful countryside - just stunning. We ate... More

Take a walk back into the elegance of a bygone age! Alstonefield Manor is everything you'd expect from a gentle stroll back in time. Painstakingly decorated to capture the elegance from a century or more ago and fitting perfectly into a picture postcard Derbyshire village, surrounded by rolling Peak-District countryside, this village manor house is not for the noisy, mobile... Cottage exceptionally nicely styled and equipped, we loved the wood burner (lots of logs provided) and roll top bath (always lots of hot water). Great location with lots of walking from the doorstep. A very relaxing environment to stay in - quiet and cosy. We self catered most of the time, as facilities to do so good but also gastro... More

We stayed at Alstonefield Manor for three nights and it was an absolute gem. We arrived to a fabulously warm welcome, tea and cake on the lawn surrounded by Jo and Rob's beautiful garden. What a stunning house - it has a real 'wow' factor. It is beautifully decorated and furnished - perhaps not surprising as Jo and Rob are... More

Jo and Rob were very welcoming with tasty treats and lots of local knowledge - lovely setting and very comfortable. Also Rob's candlelit breakfast was lovely and a good start to set us up for a day of walking. Such... More
