Stayed here for 3 nights recently. The Inn is lovely and quirky, the staff very friendly and helpful (they came to help with dodgy lights in the bathroom and bedroom and provided me with a fan - it was very hot!) But my room was like Wooky Hole Cave - all dark red - walls, ceiling, everywhere! The lighting was... More

Had a table booked for a friend's birthday. Arrived at 7.15 and some arrived at 7.30. After 1/2 hour we got a menu. Finally at 8.45 we got our food. I had belly pork. Bit tough. Won't go back. I know they were busy but that's an awful long time to wait.

Comfortable rooms with good sized bathroom. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had accidently booked at the time of the watercress festival, which meant the roads were closed for the day. Despite enormous crowds our lovely meal was served with smiles. Will be visiting again.

Ate here on two consecutive nights while staying in the very pleasant market town of New Alresford. A busy Inn popular with the locals which makes for bustling atmosphere 'early doors'. Local beer was fine and the wines were very good as well. My wife who is an aficionado of twice baked cheese soufflé reckons hers was the best she... More

Called in here as had heard good things and we weren't disappointed . Ambience is relaxed and friendly , service wonderful and food was delicious . Menu is limited but what they serve is made with good quality ingredients ,well cooked and well presented. We had a beef and Guinness pie and a calves liver main. The liver was exceptional... More

The restaurant is quite pleasant and the food is good quality but not cheap and very expensive relative to the portion size. The service we experienced was efficient but unwelcoming and extremely brusque and for these reasons would not return

Absolutely fabulous little town called Alresford, lots of lovely independent retailers. On arriving this pub had a busy little feel to it; only on road parking which wasn't really suitable for overnight stay but a very reasonably priced Car Park just a short walk away at the Watercress Line. As we opened the door to this lovely old Inn we... More

My room (No 7) was a nice size room with double bed, TV, tea & coffee making & hairdryer. The wifi was good until it got busier later on in the evening then it kept dropping out sadly. The bathroom was of a large size with a shower cubicle. The bathroom was lovely & warm. For dinner there was a... More

ROOM: The room was dated but not in a good or charming way, there was a mirror above our bed which was hanging precariously above our heads being push on by the headboard, yes its an old fashioned pub, but the bathroom needed upgrading, you can still have the charm of an old building but the room amenities need to... Earlier this year, as members of the Bryn Terfel Club we were offered tickets to the dress rehearsal of Fiddler on the Roof at the Grange Opera in Old Alresford near Winchester. Because the price of the tickets was only £10.00, we just could not refuse the offer. I hurriedly went on-line to search for accommodation for two nights, and... More
