This is the most precious home stay from my point of view. The young owner have very nice service, food was awesome. The most impressed me was 360 degree with nice weather in the early morning. Here is highly recommended!
the place is beautiful, i stayed in VIP room got toilet inside, the view can compare with expensive resort the food is good the owner is young, very friendly and ambitious Must visit this place if you re in Ha Giang i cannot describe the sightseeing on the way tk Du Gia homestay because it s too too beautiful
One of the nicest homestays we’ve been too. The family are super friendly, the food is great with a mix of western and Vietnamese and the bathrooms are clean. There’s the option of private bungalows or dorms. We went with a bungalow over the water and it had everything we needed, electricity, fan, towels and WiFi. You can’t ask for much more really. Thanks Du Gia!
This Homestay is in an undoubtedly beautiful region of Du Gia, situated amongst the rice fields and a well kept family garden. The positives were: + Nice setting + Really delicious dinner + The VIP room overlooking the pond was nice in comparison to the other options + 2nd night we were treated to local music performance which was very nice + The ladies and the boy who does the cooking are really nice and friendly. The negatives were: - The man who appears to run the Homestay is not particularly friendly and offered no help or advice for us in regard to the Homestay or region. He did not make us feel welcome there. - We felt that the Vietnamese nationals were prioritised and given special attention. At the group dinner we had a smaller amount of food and less option which was evident when seeing each set up. (No pork - he took away from us saying "Vietnamese like Pork". No fish for us but provided for Vietnamese guests). - The place had no bottled water on the first night so we had to make do until the following day.…
Somewhat authentic experience of a homestay. It is located a little off the main town and surrounded by fields. The view in the morning is great. Hot water for a quick shower and towels were provided. Highly recommend the family dinner (100,000 VND) per night. Food was fresh great variety and fruits. Do note that there may groups of motorists and can be a little rowdy. Do check out the waterfall nearby.
The staff was extremely friendly, caring and helpful in any way. The hostel is located about 8-10 min out of town but therefore you're in the middle of the nature and it is very quite. Everything was very clean and the food was also very good. We were there only with 2 others (4 travellers in total), but they did even clean our bikes the next morning and helped us getting them ready.
My friends and I booked a bungalow and a private VIP double room. Both were very comfortable. The optional dinner was great. It's set amongst ponds and farms, right next to the river. We heard some music during the night but it wasn't too close or loud enough to keep us up. The private rooms that are immediately off the dorm might not be ideal if you're looking for peace and quiet and a large group is staying over. Some of the negative reviews mention it being lovely and quiet until a large group arrived in the evening. For whatever reason, that didn't happen for us so the whole stay was really nice and relaxing.
Basic family run homestay on stilt surrounded by paddy fields. Has a three basic room facing the fields and the rest are mattresses laid on the floor with mosquitoes net. The other two called it VIP rooms with air-con and private bath facing the pond sold at higher rate. Another two unit without air con on the pond. Fish for dinner come from the pond. The owner manager Anh Khuy can speak English fluently and very friendly. Three meals provide.
The surroundings are beautiful and the lady who welcomed us when we arrived was very friendly. However the peaceful vibes we experienced in the early afternoon (when we arrived) was long gone in the evening when the place was packed with tourists. After dinner (which was tasty!) there was a lot of loud music and a lot of noise in general. If you are looking for more quite and peaceful experience I would recommend booking their slightly more expensive bungalow or vip room. The “private” room is still connected to the dorm and therefor noisy.
I don’t know why most people doing the loop ends up in this homestay. It feels commercial (which misses the whole point with a homestay). Too many guests, noisy and not very well organized. The money coming from tourists into the village economy could be so much better spread out. Also, I came here without a booking and got to hear that the place is full (that’s fine) but then a few minutes later a group of six westerners showed up with no reservations and were very welcomed. (I’m a Swede with Asian origins) Not a very nice way to do business. Please consider other homestays in the area. This is definitely not the best one.
