My friend and I volunteered at Dong Que Homestay for 11 days - and we absolutely fell in love with this place! It is located in the most beautiful area. If you’re looking for a place to chill out and relax, this is the one! There’s a nice waterfall just 10 minutes walk away, and here you can swim and stay the whole day with a good book if you’d like. Also, if you’re into hiking, you can hike up to the small village Lung Vai in the mountain (takes about 1,5-2 hours to get there). You can also go to Ha Giang City by taxi for around 80-100 K vnd. The owner of the place, Tien, is so nice and welcoming. Everyone in the village know her and Dong Que, and the locals often come by to say hi. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are good - and the food there is amazing (you will sit around a nice small table and share food with everyone). I will highly recommend you going here! …
My family and I ( husband and 2 daughters ages 10 and 13), loved staying at Dong Que Homestay. in Ha Thanh, about 6km out of Ha Giang. A quick taxi ride (100,000vd). Thien and her sister Thich are very welcoming and accommodating. They have an appreciation for community development, so if you are interested in helping out on a project ( painting murals at the primary school, teaching English, picking crops, building homes) you need only ask. The setting is stunningly beautiful. There are a few great hikes right out the front walkway. The food is delicious and plentiful. The shower was one of thr best we've had in a long time! We highly recommend Dong Que Homestay.
This place is paradise! The food is delicious (lots of vegetarian options), the host Tien and her family and friends are so sweet, and the surrounding area is unreal. There is a river, a waterfall, and a bridge very close to the homestay as well as a nice hike up the mountain that you can do. Highly recommended!
We spent 3 weeks in North Vietnam in various homestays or hotels and I must say that Dong Que homestay was the best. The atmosphere was unique. It was the real homestay. There was really chance to recognise the local people. We talked, eated, drank, laughed, sang, danced all together. Unforgettable experience! Thank you Dong Que homestay. Thank you Tie. Jitka R.
This place, located in a very traditional village, is a very nice place. There is a waterfall at five minutes walk where you can swim. I like also just walking in the village and see the daily life of people there and the beautifull rice fields. People in this homestay are very kind and very good cook! If you look for an authentic and peacefull vietnamese countryside experience, it is probably a perfect place.
