I have recently stayed at this hotel twice now...both times I loved it... The first time we stayed in one of the cottages with palapa roof, most charming, hammocks swinging outside door for the ultimate relaxation....and the second time in the beachfront room right outside the infinity pool.... Cannot beat this place for beautiful grounds, pool and bar areas and...

The room was clean, the grounds were beautiful, and the atmosphere was so relaxing, that it was a true vacay. You could walk to town, shoot pool in the bar, or walk in the moonlight. It was great. We loved it.

We stayed here when invited by our friends for a birthday fishing trip. We started out in Cabo and rented a car to cross the Baja Peninsula desert to spend the last 3 days of our Mexico vacation in Los Barriles. The approach to the hotel could be better, you definitely get the feel you are coming in the back...

Our travel friends wallet was stolen right out of their bag at the pool by what the cameras show to be an employee or contractor at the hotel. All could have been avoided with a safe in the room! We won't be returning until the install safes.

Start to finish... Ages ranged from my 18 year old niece and her friend, 2 middle aged (30) couples and our retired parents. A wide range to please! Check in was fast but would have been nice if someone showed us around the grounds. We were provided a map though. We stayed in the cabanas and they were nice (4...

We have been to Riviera Maya the past 3 trips to Mexico. This was our first time on the BCS side of Mexico and we were stunned by the beauty, the quaintness and the serenity of Los Barriles. Palmas de Cortez is the heart of this little town and harbors some of the best beaches and attracts some of the...

You enter your room, an "upgrade overlooking the pool", to find a late afternoon scene that included drunken adults behaving badly; plastic surgery "enhanced" women taking endless selfies of themselves; a Mariachi band playing at full force...clearly, this will not be a room or location for any relaxation --or sleep. The hotel was great in getting us moved and we...

Headed down to Los Barilles to show my daughter Dad's old stomping grounds, or home away from home. Thankfully she loves to fish. I picked Hotel Palmas de Cortez. It's centrally located within walking distance to most spots worth visiting. It's well kept, the staff always accommodating. We have a pool and oceanside view that Kate loves. We take a...

Having been for excellent margaritas by the pool for the last 3 days because it is coming to Easter the management have decided to put on a 'pool charge' which is $30 US per family on top of our drinks bill. Oh dear, they lose our custom and our good will at one stroke. And the margaritas were just the...

We brought our own Dorado and Grouper... they cooked it up with a range of local sauces for a nominal fee. Doesn't get much better. Best fish I have ever eaten, they provided rice and a range of vegetables.

“The cabanas are super charming, but the rooms in the tower are newer”
  • Super awkward placement of the bed right in the walkway
  • Nice new BIG bathroom
  • Sitting area and kitchenette at one end of the room- needs a lamp
  • Super awkward placement of the bed- should be on the other side of the room
  • Balcony overlooking pool and ocean
  • That is where the bed should be- but nice paintings on the walls
  • Balcony overlooking pool and ocean
  • View off our balcony - nice with 2 comfy chairs
