We are very well traveled in Mexico and Grand Luxxe is one of the best. The food was fantastic. We stayed for six days and ate at a new restaurant every time. It was five star service. We had our own dipping pool and kitchen. We stayed in the three bedroom unit. It had maid service twice per day. The resort is on 500 acres. However when you arrive there is high pressure time share solicitation. So if you really want to enjoy skip the 5 hour presentation that they claim is 90 minutes. The resort was amazing though. The pool side service was superb. (Bring your own conditioner and your bug spray.) I am very well traveled and this is one of my favorite destinations. (Disney Aulani is a tie). Enjoy half price 2/1 pina coladas by the pool. When we left for our activities we were excited to return. Book through interval, Rci, or red Week for your best rates.

For those who haven’t been, Grand Luxxe at Vidanta in Nuevo Vallarta is a treat. In my first visit they set the bar high, and they have never disappointed since. The concierge on our floor, Norma Patraca was wonderful! Not only was she friendly and upbeat, she often was able to do things, such as change appointments for me at the spa. It was last minute and I didn’t think it would be possible, but she made it happen! In this case it allowed me to attend a Ceviche making class by the pool! So good! And speaking of the spa, I recommend a massage. But if that’s not for you, it’s still worth going for the relaxing atmosphere, sauna, steam, hot tub, cold plunge (for the brave), and the heated pool to relax your cares away. We also set up an appointment with Norma to come to the room and give a demonstration on making authentic Margaritas. Such a wonderful visit! Looking forward to returning next year!

For all of you who have put off travel due to COVID rest assured the Grand Luxxe, is taking all necessary precautions to keep travelers safe. Employees wear masks at all times - even construction and landscape crews working outdoors, temp checks when you enter the Plaza and main entrance, extra cleaning protocols, resort guests were mostly wearing masks in common areas and shuttles, etc. Overall positives: 1. Great room Tower 1 sixth floor, 2. didn't have to scramble to get chairs around the pool, 3. Same great people and service, especially at the Punta Pool Bar, 4. excellent massages @ Brio, Luxxe spa is closed, 5. shuttle service was prompt, 6. great Wi-Fi & bandwidth - had a few zoom meetings w/o issue. Overall negatives: 1. Construction everywhere & the new gondola system is an eyesore, 2. only a few restaurants were open which is fine for us since we like to go off property and visited some of our favs (La Dolce Vida Nuevo, La Terrazzo di Roma in the marina, La Palapa Romantic Zone - Pipi's was closed until October otherwise we would've made another trip downtown), 3. only the Norman course is open so we had to play it 2x and it's not in great shape 4. beach is closed and so is the access from Grand Luxxe, you can enter from Grand Mayan and still walk it but the palapas are off limits. Overall a great trip but due to the construction and reduced capacity/staffing, it wasn't the typical Grand Luxxe experience but still relaxing and we'll definitely be back.

This was our third trip to The Grand Luxxe at Nuevo Vallarta. A lot of restaurants were closed due to COVID and being a low time of year (rainy season). However, some opened up two days ago in preparation for the influx for Mexican Independence Day. Never did we feel unsafe. The staff cleans CONSTANTLY. They wipe off all seats and handrails when someone gets off of the shuttles. There are chimes that go off every 15 minutes or so in the restaurants, which signal that it is time for the staff to disinfect their hands using the gel bottles that they keep in their belts. The tables are spaced out, and the whole resort is only allowing 30% capacity. The water park at the Grand Mayan is still open. There is a ton of construction going on on the beach, so much of the resort is offline, including the Luxxe Spa (though Brio is open), Ameca Social House, Havana Moon, and the giant beachfront pool with the spray cannon in the middle. Despite this, we still have plenty to do and eat in seven days of not leaving the property. The gondola is up and running, though it won't be open to ride until the winter. We got to tour the grounds for the Parks, and they're making progress. (reported opening in 18 months). Once all of the renovations are complete (the fact that they are renovating in the midst of the pandemic tells you that the company is still growing), it's going to be worth six stars.

This was one of the best vacations we ever experienced! My wife and I want to say thanks to a special group of people known as the Joy Squad and they really lived up to their name. Thank You for the great stretching classes, pool aerobics, Mexican Loteria, bingo and Spanish lessons along with the daily popsicles. We had the pleasure to meet Raquel, Hector, Raul, Sergio and Osiris. Special Thanks to Raquel for helping me with the great stretches to loosen my back muscles, the various activities and arranging a special surprise Birthday celebration, she is so kind and treats you like family. Hector was a great fun loving guy that even though many times I was the only one doing pool aerobics he was putting out energy like the pool was full of people and he helped with stretches that helped my wife. He really enjoys what he does! Raul made Mexican Loteria so much fun adding variety to make it more entertaining. Osiris was outstanding doing pool aerobics even though she hadn't done them for 6 months. Wow what a work out she gave us and so much fun. Thanks to Sergio for being so helpful and considerate to my wife and I while we were at the Punta Pool. We can't say enough good things about all of them. Let's not forget the great serving staff Fernando, Rafael, Miquel and Alejandro? at the Tower 1 and Green Table pools. Larissa at Balance was so sweet and knew us by name and ice cream favorites. Thank you for our day and night housekeeping crew Wendy, Ariceli, Norma, Yanelli, Elodia and sorry if we left anyone out. They did a great job cleaning while teaching my wife Spanish. When you visit the spa my wife highly recommends Gardenia and Hilda for awesome massages. Thanks for getting her out of pain! Wilbur our concierge went above and beyond for our special needs. There are so many more employees that just made our vacation a pleasure during unusual times due to Covid.
