Great place for baby boomers if you do not need INTERNET! Very quiet, 12 minutes to beach, great pools and restaurant. Majority of guests are 50s to 80s so if you’re into partying this is not the place for your group ! If you need internet this is NOT the RESORT ! Otherwise it is a great resort.
We also as Canadian's were comfortable in renting from Urbane - but have totally been "taken" by Urbane & Al & Jennifer. There is no spa or resort. Condo's that are being offered for rent are uninhabitable! Totally unprofessional and a scam - "BEWARE" of who you rent from.
This is a lovely, well-located, quiet facility with a fabulous pool. Beware with whom you book. We booked a two-month vacation last February for a stay in Jan-Feb 2018. We paid a 50% deposit through Ostays located in Calgary, Canada. The company does not control the suite and has refused to repay our deposit. They did not even tell us about this. If we had not checked in June of this year, we would have arrived in PV and found no suite available and no return of funds. After 5 months of calls, e-mails etc, we have received nothing but denials. Beware. We trusted the company, largely because we are Canadian and felt comfortable with a Canadian company. Read any of my reviews and you will note that I am not a complainer, I usually write favourably and generously about most hotels, restaurants and tourist activities.…
The resort is OK. Best pool area around. 15 minute walk to the beach. Be aware that if you rent from Urbane Properties or someone named AL or Jennifer or perhaps they are the same person you may have issues. Do not use Pay Pal or Cash with them. Use a Credit Card that will look after you if something goes awry. These folks may switch your to and from Green Bay and Isla Palmeras and Artesanias as example. They may never ever give you what you paid for. This is the El Tigre Golf Area at Paradise Village. It is paradise. But it still has it's snakes.
I can confirm the earlier postings and comments that this place is neither a resort nor a spa. It is a run as a condominium. It is very quiet. The pools are huge. If you walk briskly you can be to the ocean in 10 minutes. If you do rent here, work with an agent that you know and trust. If you find a unit for rent via VRBO or Home Away do not be lured into accepting a deal outside of their web site. The discount may sound attractive, but you will loose VRBO and Home Away as an ally and you will be all alone in seeking a remedy for any overbooking errors, refund of security deposits, etc. Also note, there is a front office, but they are only there to assist "owners". They will sell you water and tokens for the laundry room. If you have problems with your unit, (A/C, water, etc) you have to work through the owner or your agent. The hot tubs were never hot and seldom on. The lounge chairs are severely sun damaged. Some were being replaced while we were there. Remember you are at a condo community, not a hotel or resort.…
This is a place where I have enjoyed so Many experiences. This was a prime resort until the developer ran away. The place was abandone and the owners of some of the units formed an HOA and they have maintained the units and the common grounds. The resort amenities are lone gone, but there is a light at the end of the túnel. There have been talked with the bank and he owners of some of the units and both parties are working in rebuilding and upgrading. It may take awhile for it I can't wait to enjoy it once away in all it's glory. My last visit last week was very nice, quiet place, actually the whole pool was all for me. Nice place to relax. Looking and hoping for a fast recovery.
This is the 3rd year in a row we rent a condo in TAHEIMA for 1 month (July-Aug) during the summer. This year´s condo was different from the other 2. From there my comment on "check who you rent it to". The unit we rented the first 2 years wasn´t well maintained so we hunted for another option. The unit we rented this year is a recently renewed unit with everything you can ask for. We are a family of 6 including 4 year old twins. Our unit is named as a PENTHOUSE which has 2 floors, 2 equipped terraces, 3 full bathrooms, 3 bedrooms including the main bedroom with full bathroom, another bedroom with queen bed and the 3rd bedroom being the whole 2nd floor with full bath and 2 twin beds. The terrace in the 2nd floor has a jacuzzi, sofas, table and chairs plus a small bar and barbecue grill. As stated in other comments, when renting in TAHEIMA you can have acces to EL TIGRE facilities for a small fee including the beach club and many other features. We have had a blast all 3 years. The 2 hugh pools are very well maintained. Manuel and Tomas will offer you food and beverages from the pool bar in the afternoon. Also, we have never experienced the development to be crowded so that´s a plus if you look at the rest of the hotels and condos which are usually crowded. Again, the only recommendation is to check who you are renting to so your experience is thumbs up like ours.…
Taheima is not a wellness resort hotel any more. But if you are looking for a quiet relaxing vacation then this is the complex. The condos are individually owned and I have heard they are all equipped differently, so make sure you check around. Some of the one bedroom suites have a full size fridge, while others have a bar fridge. Some of the owners list on VRBO. The pools are gorgeous and guests can have access to the Sports club and Beach club for a small fee. I would highly recommend taking advantage of the Beach club. Many of the guests come back every winter. If you are looking for a full service hotel, then you should try an all inclusive resort.
The internet is a shared network therefore cannot Skype properly, send pictures via email etc,or use MagicJack, No phone lines in units. The grounds are poorly maintained the place needs a serious facelift, The unit we rented 2106A was advertised as 1 bedroom but was a studio with bar fridge.,We rented for 3 months, Had problems with opening safety deposit (took 5 days) when our passports, money etc were Inside. No priority was given. Requested mattress on sofa bed be replaced (could not use) never was changed, The use of the Fitness Center, access to beach chairs and towels require you pay extra so beware when it is advertised that these services are available. Shopping mail is walking distance however grocery store is extremely expensive.
Like prior reviews have noted, Taheima is no longer a hotel resort. The management of the 133 unit property was taken over by the Owners of the units in 2013. The property is now managed by a Homeowmers Association. It is a well run, well maintained property with a variety of different unit types ranging from small 1 BR efficiency units to huge 3 BR penthouse units. I live in the area and arranged for my brother to stay in a 2BR unit for his 3 week stay. The unit was quite spacious (approx. 1400 sq. ft) and nicely furnished and equipped. The focal point of the complex are 2 huge pools (the largest in the area) set into a tropical waterway (a winding heavily landscaped lagoon). The property is located adjacent to El Tigre golf course. As part of the larger Paradise Village resort complex, Taheima has access to a wonderful sports club and tennis complex and access to a nearby private beach club as well. Because of its transition from hotel resort to an Owner run condominium property, I found the rental rates to be amongst the most competative for a property of this quality in the entire Bay of Banderas area (Puerto Vallarta/Nuevo Vallarta). …
