Well how can I start the hotel was a beautiful some of the people were nice and helpful. I did have a terrible experience when checking in I was told they had no double beds by front desk lady named LINDA. She gave me a 15 minute wait to get a room. The 15 minute wait she gave me turned to 3 hours, according to her the double bed rooms were not clean. I mentioned to her I couldn’t be waiting that much since I had a 3 year old and 5 year old with me and they wanted to rest. After 3 hours I asked her again what was going on with the room that I couldn’t be waiting that long. I then mentioned to her to give me two single bedrooms since I also had my sister with me, she then gave me a really bad attitude saying that she could change everything for me but I had to pay the price for another bedroom. This happened May 30 2021 around 330 pm, she kept giving everyone rooms and had me waiting. At that point I had already asked her to provide me with the customer service number to get in contact with someone else to find out what I could do to not be waiting that long, all she told me that unfortunately she couldn’t provide me with the number. Other then that the hotel was beautiful, rooms well maintained just feel that this LINDA lady from front desk should really get more training in communicating with people. Instead of telling everyone that had reservations with a double bed that the wait was 15 minutes she could of been honest and said the truth. LINDA has no attitude and should not belong in a front desk position!!!…
Nice and comfortable room - though it lacked a window except onto the access walkway, which wasn’t very private. Most things worked ok. However, the internal phone did not - it was a rechargeable that was not charged. So in asking for someone I could order room service from in English, I had to make an international call from my own phone. Three times I asked the reception guy, and three times he just transferred me to an extension that wasn’t answered, meaning I had to go to reception in person to make my order. He was very brusque and unhelpful, and he’s the reason why I can’t recommend the hotel.
Not hard to stand out in Calexico. Beautiful hotel. I would have reviewed the hotel as at least a 4 stars but the restaurant serves diner food at best and charges premium prices. I never tried the Italian restaurant. The problem occurred a couple days later when I noticed an extra $86 charge to my credit card. Every one at the hotel speaks so-so English until you need someone to talk to about extra charges. Phone calls don’t work. Emails never get replies. Reviews just get the standard reply to reach out and we will solve this. Those are just to make you think they will. I just can’t do business with people that lack character and try not to solve issues. It was only an $86 loss on my part but I will do my part to make it impact them more and you less.
We were impressed with the service upon arrival. The facilities are quite lovely. The only thing we did not appreciate was the location of our room up stairs and at far end of long hall closest to the busy highway. The open air bar was so pleasant and live music was great.
We stayed here for 4 nights and overall it was pretty good. The staff were very friendly and the cafeteria restaurant was the highlight. Great breakfast, just make sure its included in your rate. The deluxe executive rooms were probably a little over rated, some maintenance issues and could do with a bit of a tidy up. Some rooms near the road were noisy. Two good pools.
