Enjoyed my stay for two nights. Very central with some secure parking. It's good value for money with a decent and well priced restaurants. The rooms are spacious and clean. Nothing to fault. Wifi is better than most and it has air conditioning not that it was needed

Stayed for a couple of nights. Hotel has a great atmosphere, tasty food, friendly staff. You feel like you touch a bit of history by staying there. Beautifully set with flowers, a few good restaurants in the walking distance; has a printer and computer to use in the business center for guests. Good Internet connection.

I arrived in Xalapa on an ADO bus from Puebla. The bus terminal is a distance from the city center, so a taxi ride was required to get to the hotel. Taxi stands outside the terminal made everything very simple. I was in a Taxi and at the hotel in a matter of minutes. Traffic within the city is very...

This former residence of the Spanish Lt Governor before Mexican independence has been transformed into a charming B&B near the historic center of Xalapa. We stayed four nights and were pleased by the friendly staff and good breakfasts. Highly recommended.

If you are lucky enough to visit Xalapa – a busy town sprawling on the side of a lovely valley – and you wish to meet some of the best aspects of Mexican traditional culture, you could do a lot worse than staying in the El Mesón del Alferez (this means “the Lieutenant’s Inn” – ask for more information!). It’s...

This is basically about the restaurant and their breakfasts. Probably the best in Xalapa. Efficient service from the wait staff, lots of locals breakfast there, especially on weekends, with plenty of authentic Mexican food. The place I always return to.

I'll start by saying that if you book a room here online, call to confirm. We received an email from the hotel confirming our reservation but when we arrived, they did not have us confirmed. Thankfully they had a room for us. The location is very central but the rooms are lacking. The rooms are clean but the beds are...

Centrally located near the cathedrals, the city square, and with in walking distance of a lot of great restaurants and coffee shops. Front desk people were indifferent, the phone seemed to hold there attention more than we did standing there. Rooms were clean, small and very basic. Seemed pricey. Breakfast that came with the room was also average. Secure parking...

The best thing about this stay was that they had an awesome deal associated with the restaurant. The rate included a small continental breakfast, but you could take the price of that and deduct it from other items on the menu. On our first morning we did that, and the breakfast was just delicious. On the second morning, we had...
