First, one must know that Sabionetta is a very small town, including both its suburban sprawl and the walled town. If you like these little medieval/ Renaiisance towns (as do I) you will enjoy this one. If making a road trip of small towns in this part of Italy (as well as Parma or Modena), Sabionetta makes a good base.... More

This is an old world experience. The walls of my room were decoratively painted. I was on the top floor with a lovely skylight. Bathroom totally up to date. Well equipped. Bed was very comfortable. Free wifi worked well. Very quiet. Ideal for a restful getaway. Morning breakfast buffet typical but not elaborate. Parking available for free across the street... More

Basic room but spotless. Price very good as breakfast fantastic. Fresh fruit, delicious homemade cakes and jams, yoghurt, cereals and cold meats. Helpful staff/owners and the most beautiful courtyard for breakfast outside full of amazing roses when we visited.

This is a pleasant place to stay in the heart of this charming Renaissance town between Parma and Mantua. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were decorated in a trompe l'oeil style that echoes some of the art work in the famous palaces of the town. The family who managed the hotel were helpful and welcoming. The breakfasts including some... More

It maybe only be a one star Albergo but the owners hospitality and thoughtfulness more than made up for any quirkiness. Our room was large, clean and had a recently renovated bathroom. The breakfast spread was one of the best we had on the trip. There is a good restaurant immediately across the road.

I stayed here for just one night. The hotel staff was very welcoming and friendly. There is a small lounge/library area in front with interesting books and brochures for area tours & activities. The guest room I stayed in was a bit outdated and in need of a renovation, but it was comfortable and a good value for the price.... More

Pleasant Albergo. Clean. Quirky - old radios and clocks doted around reception area. Bedroom and bathroom were of a good size but perhaps a little dated. But good strong shower. TV did not appear to have channels other than Italian. Decent breakfast. Bed was very firm (hard). Perhaps a little overpriced for somewhere so quiet.

We stayed here as part of the Experienceplus bike tour. Friendly, welcoming staff, free wifi and A/C that works. The breakfast was fine and a great way to start your day. The village of Sabbioneta is a UNESCO heritage site with several medieval attractions. Loved our stay here and it is in a great location to visit other places nearby.... More

We stayed there for one night on a very cold evening in March and it was warm and cosy in our room. As experienced in other Hotels, the heating was not switched off after 10 p.m. We liked the house very much, the warm welcome through the owner ( our dog includet), the library and the nice breakfast room. We... More

Small, friendly and full of character sum up this guest house. There's nothing fancy about it and the beds sag and the towels are stiff BUT its full of character, its warm and it feels good. The town is worth a visit for the day and some nice restaurants in town.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A Sabbioneta in the historic center, the hotel is located Giulia Gonzaga. The façade, very simple, does not anticipate the pleasant atmosphere of the interior. Located in a sixteenth-century house, the hotel is constantly changing, due to a succession of restorations that are giving back to the original structure and charm to the frescoes of this ancient house. Upon entering you face the typical garden filled with flowers and intimità.Ogni room has a shower and propylene with free Internet access. In the morning breakfast is served in the bar where you can taste the sweet typical of the area. ... more   less
