Puerto Angel is a beautiful place to visit and the hotel Puesta del Sol should be the hotel for you to choose. It is just a few minutes walk to all places of interest, especially the beaches and "downtown", but it is located in a quite area, so you have the best combination. The hotel is designed and decorated with love, it is clean and well looked after and the owners are very friendly and helpful. You can choose between allkinds of room categories, for simply with shared bathroom so ensuite rooms of all sizes. I came here without knowing howlong I woujld stay, but already after he first night I extended my stay, because I liked the place so much!

Puesta del Sol was an enjoyable haven because it has owners who care and enjoy what they are doing. Harald and Maria made this an enjoyable week, served great breakfasts, kept it spotlessly clean and were a fountain of information on activities, beaches and even local history, gossip and personalities. Puerto Angel remains a lightly touristed Mexican fishing village (i.e. it hasn't been California-ized) and a great base for a variety of beach experiences. We enjoy it's working class harbor over other better known Oaxacan beach towns. Our hosts did a great job directing us to the best activities the area has to offer (bird watching, a waterfall hike, two nearby snorkeling bays).

I stayed at the Puesta del Sol Hotel 4 days in June 2012 and I must say that I was very happy with my choice. This is not a main tourist area and that´s what makes it even more charming. It’s a nice little place in a remote little town with a friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is very close to some beautiful and secluded beaches. Regarding the room, it was very clean and had a great view. Regarding the breakfast, it was fantastic with a lot of options, all fresh and delicious. For my next stay in this part of Mexico I’ll definitely come back to this hotel and certainly will recommend it to my friends.

My husband and I stayed at the Puesta Del Sol in December 2011 and still cherish the fond memories of a place that is a safe haven for travelers and an ideal spot for relaxing and chilling out. What made it so special was the hospitality of the owners. Harald, who is of German origin and his Mexican wife Maria, a qualified nurse, were more than caring when my husband fell ill. The rooms which are set around a beautiful tropical garden are very clean, pleasantly decorated by Maria and range from single to spacious occupancy for families. In a charming little dining area they serve a delicious breakfast and when the sun goes down one can unwind on a roof top platform in a hammock after a long tour or day at the beach. Their bungalows for rent at reasonable rates are also worth checking out. They are a short distance away, set on a slope next to “Universidad del mar” on the way to Zipolite beach. All are equipped with modern appliances including internet and boast a magnificent view of the Pacific Ocean. Above the bungalows the owner constructed a large platform for hammocks. It’s a heavenly place amidst wild nature and cool ocean breezes. From here it’s just about a 15 minute stroll along a car-free trail to the beach We can’t wait to return!!
