A beautiful hotel, loaded w/ character, is terraced up the hillside w/ fine views overlooking the harbor. The stonework, landscaping woodwork & over all craftsmanship are impressive. The pool is well maintained & overlooks the harbor. The Buena Vista is underused outside of X-Mass & Easter week. It's an ideal location if one does not need to live on one...

I was staying or living in the next building over from La Buena Vista. There was no pool. So the staff was so accommodating that they let me use their pool and hammocks. It was a must cuz it's soooo hot there but I love it. And I was there everyday sometimes twice. I thank the staff for putting up...

Terrible Hotel! I was shocked when I arrived to the hotel. First- the location and access; second - the structure of the hotel, its like a horror movie (abandoned) dirty and dark. The staff of the hotel were more helpful than the manager himself. I didn't stay and they didn't return the deposit that I had made for four nights....

We decided to go to the beach last minute during the high season. Two families with kids. This was pretty much all we could find from the states along the coast from PA to Mazunte and I was afraid it would be a dump - but instead it's lovely. The grounds are lovingly maintained, the pool is perfect, the views...

bedbugs - what more can you say. The room looked great for $25 US, nice and quiet. I had stayed here before, no problem, which is why I came back. The room with bedbugs was right beside the restaurant, in front looking towards the ocean - probably the first room they rent; cheapest, closest to clean. I continued to get...

This hotel has seen better days and seems to be run on a casual, part time basis. There are no staff present in the evening and overnight and no security. Access is via an unmade road, followed by 80 steps up a steep hill to the reception area. The bungalows are scattered around a steep, but attractive, wooded hillside. It...

We had made a reservation and sent a deposit. We arrived at around 7:30 p.m. to find no one there and the hotel seemed shut up tight. We had to find another hotel for the night. The next morning we went to the hotel and found one Mexican staff person. She could not give us our deposit back so we...

We enjoyed our stay. Our cabana, 170 steps up from the street, lifted us somewhat above the town noise. The room was spacious, and a bonus was the swimming pool, which we used quite a bit. Perfect water temperature. It was a hassle to book, though, since they wanted a bank cheque (expensive to get). We compromised by sending a...

After trip number three to the Oaxacan coast, I feel it is more than time to put in a good word for La Buena Vista in Puerto Angel. All of my visits have taken place during the low season during the hot, humid and dirt-brown dry month of May. For this reason, the canyon that is home to la Buena...

We spent 5 nights at La Buena Vista in late May and were enamored with the bay vistas, lush tropical flora, and spacious accomodations. Since we traveled during the low season we were rewarded with loads of privacy - which allowed us to lazily rock in our oversized porch hammock and lounge on the terrace in one of our many...
