We stayed here for one night and was pleased with the clean and tidy room. The bed was comfy and very big. The owners were really friendly and helpful. We found the breakfast was average. On the whole we enjoyed out stay and would stay here again.

We stayed for 1 night whilst passing through Kendal. Pleasantly greeted and shown to our room by Maureen. The room itself was basic with splits in the cieling wallpaper and the bed wasn't the most comfortable - but did the job for the night! Bedroom was well stocked with tea/coffee making facilities and the bathroom was nice and clean. We...

Very good room, excellent breakfast, very good advice on dining out. These, and the hospitable and efficient nature of Maureen and her husband.

We used Plumtree House as a base for the last three nights of a walking holiday where we completed the 81 mile Dalesway. Located in the lovely countryside outside Kendal it was perfect for our needs and we were delighted with the accomodation. there was an open fire burning on our arrival and Maureen, the owner, made us most welcome....

We stayed at Plumtree House as part of an 8 group walking party. They now have 4 double rooms available, all en-suite.The house is very clean and the owners very welcoming. The breakfast is very good and they provide an evening meal at a very reasonable price which is also delicious. The fire was lit for our return from walking and...

Our group of 8 took over the whole house. We were all delighted with our rooms that were clean and comfortable . We enjoyed our full English breakfasts and were happy to discover that our hostess was prepared to offer a good wholesome evening meal at a modest additional price. This proved to be very tasty and just what we...

Very tranquil location but convenient for Kendal and South Lakes (with a car and satnav). Maureen and Mike very hospitable. You'll get a great breakfast (and a tasty evening meal if you want one for a few extra pounds: a big plus). Room comfortable and spotless. Dining/living room for guests with open fire very cosy. Pet-friendly (at least up until...

Only stayed for one night - but with great service and being dog-friendly we will probably be back. We couldn't fault anything - at the most 15 minutes from the M6, a warm welcome, large clean room with a huge bed, dog-friendly, great farmhouse breakfast, fantastic views out of your bedroom window, good local pub just up the road and...

Spent a night here in September and the lady could not have done more to make a stay welcoming - after a late arrive and having missed the chance to get an evening meal at the local pub she came out with sandwiches cake and even a beer for my stressed out husband! Very good place to stay.

Classic bed and breakfast home/business. Bedroom - Nice well maintained and freshly decorated room. Bed of the quilt & blanket , rather than the duvet type, period bathroom, however it was warm, homely and plenty of hot water for the bath or shower. The full english breakfast was excellent, however, the hosts are as happy to do scrambled/poached egg on...
