We were fortunate to be able to stay at Scarside for two nights, as our hosts Dave and Elaine worked with us and drove us to and picked us up from Kirby Stephens, allowing for the two nights. We had a very large and comfortable bed and this made up for the fact that this was a shared bathroom facility,...

We stayed here last year whilst walking the C2C for charity. We decided to come back and do the C2C for ourselves this year and did not hesitate to book Scarside for another stay. Dave and Elaine are friendly and accommodating and make you feel welcome, offering a welcome cup of tea on arrival. Dinner wasn't on offer this year...

We stayed here on the C2C. Rooms were large and comfortable. We did not eat there, but walked into the village (about 20 minutes) to the pub. The owners at Scar Side were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included and on time. As we were only there a short while, I can't add much more other than this is a...

We stayed at Scar Side on the coast to coast walk. Overall it was not up to the standard of other accommodation on the walk. The staff were unhelpful. There was only one option for the dinner main course (a pretty ordinary beef stew), limited wine and beer selection and limited desert availability. The tea they offer on arrival gets...

I loved this place!!! Stayed here just one night. Our party was camping, but my friend had hurt her back, so she and I spent the night in the farmhouse. We each had a single room, which were well furnished and very comfortable. Had tea/coffee making facilities. Huge bathroom. The breakfast was amazing. A plate of freshly prepared fruit; yoghurts;...

I booked in at Scar Side as I was there to do a dry stone walling course for two days. Elaine responded to my email really quickly and both she and Dave helped deal with all the information I needed. When I arrived on a very hot day they were friendly and very approachable if I asked for anything and...

Stayed here on the coast to coast in June. Dave looked after us well and even collected us in his car from our meal in town so we did not have to walk back uphill! It is a beautiful bed and breakfast and they sometimes do evening meals but not when we stayed. Rooms are comfortable although ours was not...

It is fabulous that so many people are taking the trouble to write reviews of our B and B. Thank you for your very nice compliments. You said we have a beautiful B and B - we always ensure that we maintain our very high standards. You thanked us for a lift to/from the pub - we know that people...

We stayed here whilst doing the Coast to Coast in May 2013. We arrived with our friends for some tea and cake in the marquee outside. Dave gave us a very friendly welcome and really looked after us. The first place to offer us fantastic cake on the walk so far was a hit! Our friends continued on the walk,...

Thanks so much for your review, and please do come back again if you are in the area - you are most welcome. Its always fantastic to meet great sociable people doing the C2C, and we do try our hardest to make sure everyone has a good rest at scar side, and we know how much a bath helps tired...

We stayed two nights at Scarside Farm during part of our Coast to Coast walk. We received a very warm welcome by our hosts. The farmhouse has excellent comfortable rooms with amazing views of surrounding countryside. Breakfast is excellent and good packed lunches available if required. Also liked the use of the sitting room in the evening with an honesty...
