Arriving there was not easy at all, driving in icy, tremendously slippery roads...But the incredible beauty of the sorroundings and the solid, heartwarming comfort and kindness of the hotel, made it all worth the while. It's decades of welcoming cleanliness, silence and discrete elegance in a homely way. We loved it, in our tiny loft room with a view... And...

I just got back from Iceland. I stayed at 5 different hotels including Ion hotel, 101 Hotel and Blue Lagoon spa. Hands down Budir was my favorite. The location was mesmerizing. The ocean, the lava fields and grassy knolls were magical. As for the hotel itself, I definitely wouldn't call it a boutique hotel because that implies it's pretentious. It...

I had my wedding here. This hotel has a breath-taking location, surrounded by mountains, waterfalls, and the sea on the other side. There is a scenic black church behind the hotel, and a little shop with handmade, artisanal Icelandic products (ranging from sheep fur to dried flowers). The interior looks like a trendy, speakeasy-themed cocktail lounge. There is a sitting...

This is a great location for a destination wedding for folks with wanderlust. The location is spectacular, the hotel is comfortable, the food and service are top notch. We had a wonderful time, and the hotel itself contributed to our enjoyment. Budir...Iceland, in fact...is a photographers' paradise. The drive from Reykjavik is about 3 hours, and the scenery is wonderful.

This hotel is in the most stunning location, however there are a few things that let the hotel down, especially as it bills itself as a boutique hotel. The building is nice and the public rooms are lovely, with a great view from the bar area. Although we were there in September it would have been nice for the fires...

We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Budir. The staff were lovely and we were still able to have the delicious 5-course tasting menu despite arriving late. A storm was raging outside but we were always cosy. Love the style of the place too and we hope to return in a year or two for a longer stay.

I have to confess I wasn't sure quite what to expect given the mixed reviews on trip advisor and the hotel decor which is not really my style. However I'm really glad we gave this hotel a chance - the rooms were vintage elegance with lovely cosy communal areas where you could connect to the wifi. The staff were friendly...

A trip to Iceland and this remote hotel turned into an epic adventure which held zero allure. The hotel is remote as was the demure of the hotelier. Rest of the staff very helpful. Hotel is criminally expensive considering it is so spartan. Room service non-existent as was the expected facility to make a warm drink. The food was good...

We are Iceland lovers, smitten with the glory of the landscape and the drama of the weather and especially the lighting, that of the sun slowly coming up from the south under the clouds to make a short but gleaming appearance at the time of that we went, Thanksgiving. We stayed on the Western Peninsula, a remote fishing area about...

I stayed at Búðir with my partner early September and have to say it just stunning. We didnt want to leave it was so peaceful and had such a relaxed charm about it. We stayed in room 23, with a roll top bath overlooking Snæfellsjökull, and a skylight with a view of the black church by day, and great for...
