Is the only word to describe this lovely “farmhouse”. My husband and I, and two friends stayed for 5 nights and we could not have asked for more. The house and the grounds are beautiful. We were four vegetarians and Gail had no problem accommodating our needs both for the morning breakfasts and a sumptuous dinner. Food was locally sourced from their own land and surrounding farms. The graciousness and attentiveness of both her and her son Maxime were unparalleled. Gail made wonderful suggestions for places to visit, as well as reservations for meals in the area, places we would never have found on our own. It was truly an experience we will not forget. I look forward to returning in the future.

We have just returned home from our 3 weeks in France. Our third week was spent here in Atelier du Renard Argente, and it was the most beautiful, relaxing place to spend time unwinding after our first two hectic weeks. We were warmly greeted by Gail on our arrival, and were made to feel very welcome in her beautiful home. There are only 5 rooms, but each has been perfectly and individually designed in a relaxing yet elegant manner. The breakfasts are superb, freshly baked quiches and cakes and breads and lovely fruit salads, with fresh squeezed orange juice and fabulous coffee. Dinner was equally memorable and the romantic setting added to the Michelin star food quality. This small boutique hotel is simply beautiful in every way, the grounds are breathtaking and the pool, whilst rather cool is very inviting. We visited many places whilst in Provence, but the Argente was such a draw that in the end we spend whole days relaxing around the pool and under the mulberry trees. A very special place, made perfect by the lovely owner, Gail. Unfortunately we didn’t meet Christian, but hopefully next time..?

What a beautiful place! Gail has put a huge amount of love and care into this property and it really shows. Our room was spacious and well-appointed and the common areas were cosy and inviting. Definitely a place to relax and unwind. Gail was extremely helpful with suggestions of what to do and see in the region - and what a stunning area! I feel she read us well, and soon recommended little gems that were just up our street (for instance Cafe de la Poste in slightly off the beaten track Goult). We also loved spending time with Maxime and of course the stray but well-loved kittens (who we miss terribly). Christian (who we did not meet on this occasion) and Gail are well-known for their food, and although we did not have dinner with them, the breakfasts were fantastic. The only downside for us is was the cost of the wine at the property. We felt that 40 to 80 Euros a bottle was steep given you can easily find good wine at restaurants for 25 to 35 Euros a bottle (even next door at the organic Chateau Saint Esteve there were 'house' wines for around 10 Euros a bottle (even with a hotel/restaurant markup this would still be far more accessible). But overall a very special place and highly recommended.

You will see I have written many reviews about many places and tend to review generously. If only there was a score to separate this place from all the others. The place is beautifully renovated and Gail’s taste is exquisite. There is a serenity and peacefulness there which is hard to explain. The food is absolutely delicious - amazing breakfasts like none I have ever had before, many lovingly baked that morning by Gail. Her husband Christian was unfortunately not with us but no worries there in terms of the quality of dinner (Christian works as Executive Chef for the Orient Express). The dinner Gail cooked for us was sublime. In fact the sea bass with potato scale with a truffle and caviar sauce was voted by my husband and I as our favourite course during our French trip, and that included a wonderful 3 Michelin star dinner. But the magic of the place is in the love and care provided by Gail and her delightful staff, and I’m very sure by Christian too when he’s there. I cried when I left! I’m already planning our next trip

Words cannot describe our experience at L’atelier du Renard Argenté. This has been our magical happy place throughout our roadtrip through Provence. We have never experienced such beautiful, lovely and warm hearted people as our amazing hosts Gail & Christian. Thank you so much for making this stay so wonderful. Long story short: you can trust all those reviews before and it will be hard to ever find some place as stunning. Gail and Christian welcome you in the warmest way and love to Male people happy - you feel it any moment you spend there. Both coming from high quality Hotellerie the service standard is high. They have 5 individually decorated rooms, and the house is just what interior dreams are made off. Also the surroundings are wonderful. The garden area is huge and when listing to the birds and crickets, hearing the quiet meow of a cat, looking in the distance - this is when you truly forget about work or other things, you simply start to relax. Food wise: breakfast is included and wonderful! But what really made our day were all those beautiful evenings with the most delicious meals cooked by chef Christian. We spent 5 nights, 4 of them enjoying dinner at home just because it is THAT GOOD and you feel so welcomed. We will come back as soon as possible and cannot thank you, Gail & Christian, enough for this special time!
