Spacious rooms. Massive bed made of concrete (a bit firm). Walk in shower. Clean. Poor water pressure (don't forget to turn on water heater 2 hours before showering). Best restaurant in town (unfortunately). Reasonably wide menu choice (go for the fried rice rather than things like burgers or spaghetti). No alcohol in hotel Very friendly staff (if a little low...

The staff are friendly and welcoming. The room was large and clean. It did lack coffee making facilities, which is a must in my opinion. The free WiFi is a bonus. There was a distinct lack of hot water. I couldn't sleep much over the noise of the generator.

A lovely friendly hotel and restaurant, company house is just round corner, so tended to eat here frequently. Staff are friendly and always willing to help. And the owners are now in process of opening a new Capitol hotel next to Lungi Airport, which we stayed in before my flight home. It is in middle of being renovated but the...

The owners of the Capitol Hotel in Kenema have a good thing going. They have invested a lot in what is a fairly large hotel. It is well-built. The rooms are fairly large, each with a fridge and air conditioner. The hotel has a big, relatively-clean pool. The generator operates supposedly from 18.30 to 06.30. On the positive side, the...

I have now stayed at the Capitol Hotel in Kenema four times since September 2012 and tried to post my comments sooner but somehow it always slipped. I was pleasantly surprised to find a clean hotel in Kenema upon my first visit. The place was secure, staff was friendly and welcoming; the rooms were clean and comfortable and the location...

I was in Kenema on business and a colleague suggested that I stay at the Capitol Hotel. The main benefit is its location and customer service of the staff. However, the rooms are not nice and the street noise is a serious issue. I probably won't stay here again. Pro's: (1) Very good location-- there are several very good restaurant,...

My wife and I arrived in Kenema at about 1:00 AM in March of 2012. A friend took us to a two bedroom back house which was very uncomfortable and inconvenient for both my wife and I. The bed was full of sand, and neighborhood seemingly insecure. My wife, who was on her first visit to Sierra Leone after almost...

This is where most people stay, and it is adequate. The food is quite good (avoid th terrible steaks), and the rooms are fine, though they can be noisy at the front of the hotel (from the street) AND the rear of the hotel (from the bar). The service is poor, and it is about 50% more expensive than it...
