Loved the food and the location of the hotel. Plenty to do and was able to move around the resort during the day. The staff were very. Friendly and incredibly helpful. However more staff are n the ded in the sports bar as there was a long wait to be served but overall loved it and will be returning next year
Affordable family vacation. We are all about convenience and being able to do our booking for flights , hotel and tour packages with Southwest Airlines made our trip very convenient and enjoyable. We stayed 9days and 8 nights. Book privilege with hotel worth paying a little more for perks.Buffets was good. Room service is free . Book reservations for restaurants as soon as you get to hotel Don’t wait . Men need to wear dress shirts or t-shirts when dinning in restaurant , no exceptions not worth trying talk staff into letting you they won’t budge. Alebrijas (Mexican Cuisine was our favorite restaurant all the food was delicious. Japanese restaurant was similar to Benihana recommended sushi platter and Mixed meat entree. Pool bar was highlight of trip when we had our rest days . Service at hotel was great all staff friendly. Amstar is on property to assist pre-paid and new customers for tours. Sophia with Amstar was amazing at assisting us with our prepaid Amstar packages she planned our days out perfect so our tours got better as we stayed through out the week. It’s not asked but I highly recommend tipping. Workers are not paid much in Cancun so just like us in the US a lot of people in service industry rely on tips . Acegria Spa was amazing. my husband and I did a couple message with hot rocks and it was very affordable definitely cheaper then US . Genaro and Ninfa were very good at messaging muscles and utilizing hot Rocks over body. We booked with them twice because they were so good. The only thing that was not a good thing on property was beach it was beautiful to look at but seaweed was intense. Nothing the resort could control seaweed on beaches is something all resorts have. We didn’t book Catalonia for beach so that didn’t ruin our trip. Property is gated with security so safe location. If you want to leave resort You are able to leave resort and walk 20 min to shops and other restaurants also there’s a shop to convert for peso if you wanted to . I don’t recommend converting money at hotel due to rate being 3-4 dollars less it’s value verses if you did it outside of resort. ( 17 at resort outside 19-21) all resorts are less in value then if you converted outside. Room were cleaned daily and we were greeted with cute animals letting us know room cleaning was done ❤️ When we checked out couldn’t pay with US dollars for room charges it was iether peso or credit cards . Definitely recommend Catalonia very affordable and great service all staff friendly. Catalonia was apart of vacation packages offered with Southwest Airlines we travel Southwest all the time and only book are vacation package through southwest. Catalonia 10 out of 10.…
Booked this hotel for a belated honeymoon. Was expecting a lot nicer accommodations. Room was okay, the AC was amazing in the rooms! There is not really a beach, so if you want to play in the water, there are not really any places to do so. Food was alright, nothing amazing. They seemed to serve leftovers from dinner for breakfast. Also water was really hard to get. Servers wouldn’t give us big enough glasses and neither would they come refill quick enough. Overall it was good, but somewhat disappointing to what the pictures show.
Myself and my boyfriend visited Mexico for a holiday after flying from NYC, so we needed a relaxing holiday! The service was great, and Ivan was helpful when we decided to upgrade our package by helping us move all of our luggage with great conversations and suggestions of what to do. The restaurants are nothing like I have experienced before, from the buffet to the 3 course meals it was beautiful and a variety to choose from. Our upgraded room was worth it, we had a modernised base level room it was perfect! However, the doors were quite loud to close and it did wake us up in the evenings/early mornings. There was the availability to book trips at the resort which would include transportation too. Overall, I would highly recommend for anyone looking to book!
We had a lovely time. Good food, great entertainment, clean hotel, friendly staff, and sun! Rooms were rundown but the beds were comfy and everything was kept very clean. Lots of pools to choose from and we enjoyed every meal! It’s a gated community so felt very safe wandering around. Shopping is only a 10-15 minute walk away but you can also rent a golf cart to get there which was fun. If you reserve the dinners, make sure you are on time, they will not hold the reservation for more than 10 minutes past. Would definitely come back.
Overall we had a good time. The rooms are outdated, only one plug and sink backed up the first night. I am disappointed that booking as a member did not mean anything in terms of complimentary covid testing or greeting upon arrival.
This was such a fabulous vacation, at an incredible value. We ended up staying an extra day! Absolutely 100% the best customer service we've had at a resort and I've been to a Relais & Châteaux. They were SO NICE! And the resort is GORGEOUS! -The property is beautiful. It has all the tropical beachy vacation vibes you could want! Pretty pools, swim up bars, beautiful decor- honestly we thought this hotel was the prettiest looking in the area. -THE NIGHTLIFE IS AMAZING!! Was so shocked at the incredible Theater they have on site, it's huge with a great bar outside and the talent of the dancers IS INSANE. I cannot stress enough how talented the dancers/actors are. The shows have full broadway-level choreography, full costumes, great music, and really really incredible technically trained dancers. So much appreciation for them. We ended up giving them $100 when we left because they put their hearts out there. Also The Abuelo bar at night has fabulous live salsa/latin bands. -Our room was so great! Really strong A/C, and the balconies are beautiful. The room isn't super fancily decorated, but who spends time in their rooms anyway? -THE SPA. They have a stunning jacuzzi/hydro spa which rivals 5-star resorts. We got multiple massages there that were some of the best we've ever had. The spa is truly gorgeous, with a sauna, steam room, indoor and outdoor jacuzzis, wellness pools, etc. -We never had 1 problem finding a beach chair, or a chair by the pool. There were plenty. -It's Cancun and the beaches aren't great in Cancun, but the resort to me was really close to being as nice as Moon Palace. The beach is more like a lagoon, the only downside but it's still really pretty and you can walk to the place next door. -The excursions, especially the Cenotes, were breathtaking and cheap and again very kind people. -Everyone from check-in to concierge was so sweet and it made our trip so nice :) Guadalupe at breakfast, Elena, the woman who books the excursions, Antonio and Grisel at the spa- so many to name! I'll end by saying I have been to some verrrrry fancy and expensive resorts with my family, and this was great and we enjoyed the whole thing. 5 stars!…
Food was excellent and plentiful. Pools clean. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Shows were great. Seaweed? Yes, preventing use of ocean; however, we did not smell anything terrible. Just avoid area where seaweed piles up from daily cleaning. Men were removing seaweed from ocean beach area all day long, filling dump trucks, working hard! Only a few times did we get a bad smell over 6 days. My husband has asthma and he was bothered by the smell but this was resolved with him wearing his face mask. There is this problem all up and down the coast. Room was adequate but bring your own tissues and body lotion. When we needed new towels we got them. It’s not a 5 star and maybe not a 4 star by some standards but we weren’t looking for or paying for luxury. Restaurants were excellent but be sure to book them right away for your whole stay. They fill up fast. We took a taxi to X-caret—20 min away. Worth the entrance fee. We enjoyed this trip a lot. Traveled with a 5 yr old who loved the whole trip and enjoyed all the kids! I’d go again.…
The food at La Brisa is excellent!!! There is a seaweed problem so sometimes there is no beach access. The hostess at Alebrijes was rude to us because we didn't have our ticket, but the front desk people said it didn't matter. Really great value overall. Would return. Oh and definitely have your picture taken by the professionals at the this resort. They rock.
Karla and Mauricio are the best at planning your excursions for your trip. They are not oushy and truly just want you to have fun so they focus on your wants and needs. This trip was by far the best trip we've taken as a couple and I can't wait to come back and explore more of Mexico.
