This was our seventh time to this hotel. We return because of the service we recieve from the staff. Always tentative to your needs and friendly. The rooms are large and clean, (they can use some updating ) . We don't spend much time in our room we are mainly laying on the beach, in the water, in one of the pools, at the swim up bar. You can always keep busy. The beach is nice although it is a little rocky the first couple steps into the water. So many types of food is available. The hotel is in a gated community you can walk down to the marina where there are shops, more restaurants, dolphins, manatees, charter fishing. If your first time its worth the extra to get the upgrade closer to the pools, more private.

“All inclusive” was not actually all inclusive. You are only allowed to make reservations for two out of the six restaurants. Every other night you have to eat at the buffet which is full of flies. The bartenders did not know how to make whiskey sours. There were not many high end liquors. The crepes were cold. The gym was so small and barely had any equipment plus you have to make a reservation to go. ONE machine with a barbell, all other machines were cardio and a couple for upper body. And to top it all off we got pulled into doing a “photo shoot” one night on our way back to our room and when we went to look at the pictures they were charging us $20 USD PER PICTURE!!!! Wtf. I would not come back here.

Dear Steph, First and foremost, we would like to thank you for choosing Catalonia Costa Mujeres as your vacation destination and for taking the time to bring your discontent to our attention. It is a shame to know that your time spent with us did not meet your expectations and that you went back home feeling unsatisfied with the overall experience. Rest assured that your concerns have been duly noted and shared with the team, like the crepes and bar preparations. Likewise, we would like to take this moment to clarify some important points, both for you and for any future traveler who comes to this contribution. The Garden View and Premium categories have the possibility to enjoy four specialties plus the international buffet, on the other hand, Privileged guests enjoy one more restaurant which is BLoved. Reservations are made at Guest Service, the truth is that there are spaces available to enjoy the specialty, however, very often it ends up not being the guest's preferred schedule and therefore the restaurant is not taken advantage of. On the other hand, the photographic company is alien to our lodging, that is why you have to pay for acquiring their services as any external business, such as excursions, car rental and many more. It is important to keep clearly in mind what the all-inclusive formula is. Dear Steph, we understand that you are hesitant to return based on this experience, though we hope to have another chance to impress you in the future. Our best wishes to you in your future travels. Regards,

Our second trip to the Catalonia Riveria Maya and it didn’t disappoint again. My Wife and I were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and we were having a small ceremony on the beach. Everyone at the Catalonia is very friendly and helpful and alway give you 5 star service. Pedro the bartender always had a fresh drink for us on the beach thru out the day. Buffet always had a good variety of dishes and the restaurants had nice items and great wait staff. Snack bar is open thru the day and the taco cart by the pool was great everyday. Will definitely be back. Vaya con dios!

This resort was worth every penny and more! Lots of activities and excellent food (Buffet, Mexican, Italian and American (Beloved was excellent). to top it all, their people were the best - Chef Ernesto and Chef Umberto were so accommodating that they eve made us Indian curries (fish and chicken). We gave them the specs we had taken. Their food stood above any other "all-inclusive" we have been to. Their activity staff - Vario, Misael, all the girls - gave it all to make sure that we enjoyed the Water Polo, exercises, dancing, kayaking, I would go back in a heart-beat!
