Can't say enough how much I enjoyed this resort. Every employee was simply wonderful, kind. Went for a mother/daughter weekend get away so we like to stay busy. They had pool entertainment everyday. From games to water aerobic and the instructores Emilio and Jared where great, super fun and got everyone involved. Then had nightly entertainment in the theater where a group of dancers put on a wonderful dancing show, they were super talented. Before each show they would play games on stage with audience. One night they had live singers/dancing party on the beach. Open bar's all around resort. One advice I would give, buy the upgraded package "Premiere" you get access to the better restaurants, we did not like the buffett's so were very glad we had the Premiere room package and could go to all the restaurants. Premiere room was very nice, recently upgraded so pretty new and clean. Fridge (stocked with water and soda) and safe in room. Will def stay again.

First off everyone has a right to their reviews and I promise when I would see a negative review I got nervous but this hotel did not disappoint. Check-In We arrived around 1:15. We had to wait about 30 mins for our room. During that time their amazing staff greeted us with drinks and gave us our wristbands so we could grab a drink. We went down to the privilege area to grab a drink at the beach bar and sit poolside. It was relaxing and when our room was ready we went up to unpack and change into our suits. We stayed in room 448 with an amazing view of the grounds and the ocean. Meals Our first night we didn't get a chance to book online so we went to eat at BeLoved and it was amazing. I had the steak and my wife and the salmon and it was soooo good. Now the only drawback with diners is no question the reservations online. I'm an early riser so yes just like I’ve read you do have to get up early or set up a reservations. Our second meal was at the Grill. It was probably our least favorite but the grill was great for a midday snack. Our third night we had the Italian restaurant hands down our favorite meal. We wrapped up at the Japanese restaurant and it was so much fun and another great experience. We also made it over for Crepes, and sausages for a midday snack. We didn't make it to breakfast at any of the restaurants because we would always do room service. To be honest minus our hiccup at dinner at The Grill we were so impressed. Beach Yes once again if you want a beach chair at the front you have to get up early but we never found a limit of chairs. We would start our day at the beach side before we would transition to the privilege pool don’t forget your water shoes. But would always end our night at the beach with a cocktail. Spa We did a couple massages and it was great, just a 60 minute massage. Don't make the mistake that we did wear your swimsuit to the spa so you can do the hydro therapy after. They said we could come back but we didn't. Staff My biggest suggestion is to wake up to watch the sun and see the staff working their tails off. Remind yourself that they don't finish services until 3am but back up working before 6am. Our room was cleaned everyday and our fridge was restocked. Pedro at the bar is one of the best bartenders I’ve been around. Everyone was friendly. Please tip! Overall We Loved everything about the resort. Met amazing people and it was good to get away.

We loved the Catalonia Riviera Maya Resort and Spa. It was perfect for us to rest and relax as well as to enjoy some adventures. The activities staff were so much fun and kept us busy and entertained. We especially loved Emilio, Luis, and Maria.

The room was lovely with a large tv, mini bar and a bed big enough to fit 3 comfortably. Victoria who cleaned our room daily was lovely and ensured all our needs were met. The food was great, especially in the grill and the steak in beloved just melts in the mouth. The Japanese a La cart is definitely an experience everyone should try once while here. The pool facilities are vast and are cleaned every morning. The privileged pool is set at a lower temperature than the other pools which is glorious when you need to cool down. The main pool on the riviera maya side of the hotel is like getting in a warm bath from approximately midday onwards. Sun beds are always available in the privileged pool so I would definitely recommend the upgrade (you also get to dine in beloved without a reservation and have a private beach along with a free mini bar in the room and room service included). The beach is cleaned daily of seaweed and is great for snorkelling due to the vast array of fish. Kayaking and scuba diving is available to any who like to give it a go. A trip to playa del carmen is a must for anyone looking to do some shopping and the dolphin trip with the foot push is a must! Definitely a once in a lifetime experience. All staff have been amazing during our stay and go the extra mile to ensure your stay is great. Would definitely stay here again!

I have just left this resort for my 36th visit! I cannot say enough about the wonderful staff, especially Eduardo, one of the managers. He is the absolute BEST! Some remodeling going on but all for the betterment of the resort and they are doing their very best to keep the sargassum under control. I will always return, this is my home away from home - my paradise!

Had a good experience at Catalonia. The buffet has many options and the service was also good. Guadalupe at the Brisa restaurant was attentive and offered great service! I will say the rooms need some updating on the Yucatán side and I wish the all inclusive came with room service and cold drinks option to your room.

Pros, Good location in PA, and the exterior of the hotel looks beautiful and tropical. Cons: rooms are tiny, bathrooms outfitted like a cheap RV, cheaply decorated, horrible linens, impossible to get reservations at restaurants so fully dependent on the buffet which is mediocre. The kayaks can only be reserved during the hottest part of the day. The pool is super crowded and noisy and chaotic. Check-in experience was horrible, no parking available. Basically, everything about this hotel was cheap, cheap, cheap, but the price was the same as the luxurious hotel I went to when I left this one.

Pretty grounds, beaches not swimmable, rooms full of mold, food is absolutely disgusting this resort is at best a 2.5 star. The staff are actually so sweet and will do their best to make you happy. Low end booze even when you upgrade. Never again...

We had our honeymoon here in 2016 and the experience was phenomenal! Staff were very helpful, beautiful grounds and scenery, everything was excellent, it was clean, value for money was good and we are very much looking forward to going back! Looking forward to a second Honeymoon in November. We booked Preferred Oceanview on the top floor so we can see the Ocean above the trees. The room included 24 hour room service, access to the more private Chill Out bar on the water and also the deluxe restaurant we ate at most days. We highly recommend this resort.
