My husband and I recently visited this hotel. We have been to mexico 5 times previously and have had a wonderful time. We were wanting to try something extra special for our anniversary and were advised by the Tui reps that this hotel was some thing special. We paid a lot extra than our previous holidays but we're so excited. We have never been so disappointed in our whole lives. After a long haul flight we were shown into what looked like an office but we're only to find out later that this was the main lobby. We had to stand in a long que. Each couple took about 30 minutes to process and when we came to check in we had to fill out a long list of questions on a tablet. Just what you need when your shattered after a long flight. Never mind we were taken to our rooms but they refused to bring our bags on the empty golf cart which had plenty of room for our luggage. We had to wait an hour and a half for our cases to he brought to our room. I cannot describe how filthy and dingy our room was. The floor tiles were cracked and manky. The bath filter was full of human hair and muck. The room stunk of musk and mild. There was muck and filthy grime on the patio doors.the mirrors were fill of toothpaste and musty. Towels had muck on them.the outdoor swim up terrace which we paid extra for was full of dead mosquitos, the tiles off the pool were everywhere. I opened the fridge to get a bottle of water out. The fridge was so old and iced over I took the bottle out and it exploded on my foot and cut my toes. The shower room and toilet were just disgusting I was so shocked this was the most we had ever paid for a holiday it was in real. We decided to venture out. Omg the nightlife was like being in shameless what we thought was the entertainment was a load of drunks singing karaoke. The chairs had no backs the plastic cups were so rubbish they couldn't even hold the liquid they kept buckling. We went to bed couldn't face even having a shower it was so dirty. Next morning up early before the reps came. Had a look round. The balconies are all shaded by huge trees. The place was just so neglected. Talked to a few people that had moved rooms twice or three times and still dirty rooms. We walked along the beach and cane across the eldorado infinity side. The new complex. Was like chalk and cheese. Lovely you coukd see how clean the rooms and pool were well looked after it was like being in a totally different complex. But these were part of this hotel. We saw the rep and told her our situation. We asked to be in the infinity side, explained how much we had paid for this holiday and were not happy. She told us it was American owned and Tui had nothing to do with this side. Since coming home have found out she lied and Tui do send in customers to this side of the eldorado which us by Karisma. The duo office that morning was chocka with so many complaints. They were queing out of the door. Another couple wanted to be moved they said they couldn't spend another day here. The same as us. We were both told we had to pay 792 pounds to move. And to pay our own taxi fairs. Which we did just to get away from that place. When our taxi came a Mexican worker helped us with our luggage and asked my husband why we were leaving he said to him you know why. And he replied yes I do and winked. He said a lot if people come stay one or 2 days and leave. What a scam Tui have going there. Have complained and got my solicitor to look into what's going on. The brochure and reviews look fab. But beware the reviews which ate goid are probably on the new infinity side of the resort. Stay clear of the palms it's disgusting. We spoke to so many people who had moved rooms and we hadn't been there mire than 24 hours. Be warned.

This was a last minute panic booking. We had booked Mexico with Thomas cook and 3 weeks before our departure we lost our holiday. Things happen for a reason. Will start with the negatives, the first room we were allocated was a junior swim up suite, when we entered it was dark and needed updating it was room 3604. We didn't unpack and returned to reception. It ended up costing us another £300 to upgrade to the premium section room 112 which was so much better. The mini bar is poor with choice, every all inclusive adults only holidays we've been on include spirits and wine. The swim up bar would have been better with music. Anyway that's the only negative points I have to make and to some people this will not be an issue. Positives out rule all of these. The staff are amazing, so friendly always smiling and greeting you will hello. The restaurants are great the food excellent, loved the Asian and the special Indian dinner on a Tuesday night, costs $25 each extra but so worth it. Our personal conceige Israel was so friendly and helpful and our maid service was fantastic his name was Miguel, the towel art he did made it special, the lady who cleaned for us on the day Miguel was off or elsewhere was very thorough but didn't catch her name. We did a couple of trips while we we're there. The jungle maya which was a zip line and quad bike trip was great fun, swimming in caves and absailing, things I never thought I would ever do, this trip was booked with Tui not cheap but glad we did it. The second trip we booked with the guys on the beach it was the catermeran trip, another great outing, drink and snacks flowing all day and a lovely meal on the beach afterwards. The resort is so clean and the staff don't stop. Mosquitoes are an issue but repellent is left in your room and you can request more, I even on a couple of occasions asked for the room to be fumigated and it was done. You have to book your restaurants in advance but this was never a problem, the only restaurant to me that needs work on is the gormet pub, lovely place but the food quality and service was not as good as the other restaurants. We would definitely recommend and return to this hotel, met some amazing people on this holiday and really have the holiday blues now.
