Zacil was fabulous help, my husband and I were on our honeymoon and I tested positive for Covid.. she did everything she possibly could to try and make things easier or just get me some food ! Highly recommend!! Wouldn’t have made it without her!

We came here in April for our anniversary and the staff and service keeps us coming back. They are so friendly and the fun team makes you feel welcome and keeps you entertained. My mom and I decided to come back because she wanted a tropical vacation. The prices were great so we decided to come back. Food is exceptional but my only complaint here is not enough salads I like. I love all the good stuff too but I’d like to see some more options for a great salad. The romaine at driftwood was amazing! Amazing service all around. Juan, Erik, Daliah, and the new girl lol I forgot her name again-but she taught a fantastic Spanish class, are some of the fun crew team and they do yoga, volleyball and so much more. Even had me stepping out of my shell. Suemy is my favorite fun beach drink waitress and she taught a funny tequila tasting that was super interesting! They are all really great though! Erik at the health bar/beach bbq was so friendly and great service! Andy over at driftwood helped us most days and we really like him. He’s a great server! There have been so many but I can’t remember them all so just touching on a few. Ivan is an amazing butler and we really enjoyed chatting with him and he was a great butler. Always making you feel like you’re bot a bother 😆 Arturo & Arturo and Carlos were our butlers last month and they were wonderful too! The palms side has so much history and it’s really beautiful. The beach isn’t the best beach but again the service and people make up for the things that I don’t love. Overall I will definitely be back and recommend the el dorado resorts to my friends and family!

We arrived on a Tuesday evening . Greeted immediately and brought into the lobby where they immediately asked what we wanted to drink. Check in was fairly quick and got our room right next to our friend. We stayed in the premium ocean view room, rooms 504 and 505. Both rooms identical. Read reviews that the rooms were old, etc. I thought it was a decent room, it was clean and spacious for the two of us. No complaints with the room. After unpacking we wanted to eat and it was after concierge had left for the day. Tried to get into a couple restaurants and told we could not, had to eat at the buffet, Arrecifetes. Was not great. Not a great selection to choose from. Next morning tried to talk with concierge 3 times, finally just asked her to make us a dinner reservation at Mia Casa, which she did. Enjoyed the day at the beach and wandered over to Infinity pool. It was all shaded, had a few drinks, made some friends and went to dinner and watched the fire show. Following day able to catch concierge at the right time and got reservations for Gourmet Pub and the other Mia Casa for the following night. Spent the day at the beach. Had lunch at Sandwhicherie, which was good. Gourmet pub was not good, hardly ate any of the many items we ordered. We tried a few of the breakfast places and wasn’t impressed . The seafood place was hot and had a long line to get anything, with not much to choose from. None of the places let you order breakfast a la cart, so always a pain. Wasn’t impressed with any breakfast. Beach bbq we at a few times, I tried the tostada and cerviche one day, by far the worst food. One bite and totally done. The whole fish was pretty good. The chicken bbq sandwich was not good. I just did not love any of the food at this place. Service was great, love the staff here. Everyone is so friendly and smiles. Joaquin at the beach was awesome, Queen of the beach Suemy, lots of fun. The bartender at the Orange bus- totally awesome. Guacamayos has lots of great bartenders. There was another small pool with one bartender, I can’t remember his name, he was great!!! Our maid was great, never saw during the whole time but every day came to a fresh room. The entertainment team was great. Did Zumba and some dancing with them. The resort is beautiful and well maintained. There are areas with some horrible smells, could be the sargassum stuff? One day walking through Driftwood it was so terrible I couldn’t believe people could eat with that smell. May give another El Dorado a chance, but probably not anytime soon. We were in premium section, supposed to have pool/beach butler..... never seen any sign of them. (Happened when we were at Azul in March too). Didn’t feel there was anything better by choosing this upgrade.

I spent 5 days at Seaside Palms in May 2021. Shortly after booking, the price decreased. I contacted Karisma and was provided a $100 credit to be used during my upcoming stay. Prior to arrival, I communicated with the property and requested specific rooms, to have beer removed from the fridge and only have coke and diet coke, mentioned the credit and also noted that my partner and I would be celebrating our anniversary. Everything was noted on my reservation and confirmed via emails. Once I arrived on site, the grounds were beautiful and the line to check in wasn't very long. My partner and I were offered a cold beverage as we waited. The actual check in process took about 20 minutes. This included making copies of our passports. I wasn't granted any of the rooms I requested but I am a laid back traveler and received the room type that I paid for (Palms Premium Jr. Suite), just not on the desired floor. I was told that the concierge had just closed prior to our arrival and to check with my personal concierge in the morning to book dinner and spa reservations. The next morning, we waited in the hot sun for over 30 minutes for a concierge, only to find out that guests staying in the Premium Building have their own concierge, and could not use any other concierge but the one assigned to the Premium Building. Once we located the correct "hut", we spent over an hour with Ibeth, who is the sole reason for why our stay was so terrible! This was our first full day at the resort so I wanted to get everything booked so I wouldn't have to return and take any more vacation time planning things. The lines for the concierge were very long and we ended up missing breakfast (after not eating much the night prior) because what should have taken 20 minutes took well over an hour. I would like to also mention that she was on her phone texting the entire time. We just assumed she was texting other workers affiliated with the resort, but that couldn't have been the case based on how many errors were made. Since our stay was so short, I wanted to book our COVID tests ASAP. Ibeth handed us paperwork to fill out on our phones and also needed yet another copy of our passports. I am not sure why so many copies of our passports were needed but signing up for the COVID test to return home should be something that is done at check-in because not many guests spend their days at the beach with their passports in hand. My partner had to return to obtain the passport. Had I not already had mine, we would have lost our place in line. The next issue is the scheduling of dinners. There is an app that shows restaurants, menus, dress, and locations. I am not sure why I have to use a concierge to book dinners. Ibeth booked the dinners for us and only 1 ended up being correct throughout the duration of our stay. I then mentioned the credit because I wanted to use it for a massage on the beach. Ibeth said there was no credit applied to my account. She gave me an email address to send her the screen shot of the email and told me that she would meet me on the beach later in the day (prior to her end time of 4pm) and assist me with scheduling my massage. When she asked if we were celebrating anything special, I mentioned our anniversary and she made a BIG DEAL out of it. Almost in a mockery context. I am not sure if this is protocol or if it's because we are a same sex couple but both of us felt very uncomfortable answering all her generic questions such as how long we had been dating, how old we were, where we met, etc. Normally this wouldn't have been an issue but she was practically yelling the questions, like she wanted everyone to know. One of the couples waiting for their turn even mentioned to us in the pool the next day how it seemed like Ibeth wasn't genuinely happy for us at all. She made note that it was our anniversary on her notepad and promised that something special would be waiting for us in the room the next day, our actual anniversary date. Ibeth also noted having the beer removed from the fridge and replaced with only coke and diet coke and she told me that she was working on the credit and would find me on the beach to book the massage. We left feeling confident that everything would be taken care of, especially since we saw her write everything down. The next day, I returned to the Premium Concierge Hut because I hadn't heard anything from Ibeth. As soon as I walked in, she greeted me by name. I told her that I wanted to use the credit to book a couples massage because we were set to leave soon. She told me that she looked for me on the beach the day prior at 4pm but couldn't find me. I explained that I stayed on the beach until well after 6pm waiting for her. She then covered up her lie by stating that she looked different because she was off work at that time. She told me she had not heard back about the credit and assured me that she would come find me in a few hours with a resolution. I decided to go directly to the front desk and inquire. After spending 30 minutes showing Sigri the emails and arguing with her about the credit, she finally "applied it to my account." But before that, she gave me the runaround telling me that I needed to contact my travel planner when I booked directly through Karisma and the email was from Karisma! I even showed her that the deposit was less than the total by $100 which proves that I had a credit, along with all the email correspondences. When I asked to see the actual application on my account, she told me it was private information and asked me to return to Ibeth to book the massage. I still do not understand why Sigri could not book anything for me. This was a total waste of my 2nd full day (and my anniversary). Back with Ibeth, she confirmed that the credit was applied to my account and told me that Sigri was the front desk manager so I shouldn't have anything to worry about. By this time, we had already booked excursions, so massages were not probable. We decided to use the credit for the candlelight dinner on the beach. Ibeth told us that dinners for that evening were already full so she booked the dinner for the next night... our last night. I mentioned that the fridge still had beer and nothing had been done for our anniversary and she wrote in her pad in huge letters again that our room needed attention. Let me just say that NOTHING was done. By the next day we were very disappointed in the resort, especially since we spent so much time arguing with Ibeth who was full of broken promises. Despite my partner's suggestion to return to the concierge to make sure everything would go smoothly on our last day, I decided against it because I had already spent well over 35% of my vacation time with issues that should have been resolved upon arrival. The only glimmer of hope that was left was the candlelight dinner. When we arrived on the beach, our reservation could not be found and all the table settings were full. Rubycel told us that he remembered our room number and that he was waiting for us the night prior. This was a lie. I signed paperwork stating that we would have dinner our last night. I asked to speak to a manager, so he called someone on the phone and told us to go wait by the bar and said his manager would meet us there. After 30 minutes no one showed up so I returned to Rubycel. First he avoided us. Then he ignored us. Another worker, Ana, who later mentioned that she didn't work in the hospitality department, noticed our deep frustration and tried to help us. She put us in contact with Cecelia, the hospitality manager. Cecelia did something that no one else did... she listened to our issues and genuinely tried to help resolve it. We did end up having dinner that night but not by candlelight. Not on the beach. No fancy photographer. And no $160 meal. Cecelia honored my request to accompany us to the front desk after dinner. This meant that we had to miss the great fire show entertainment that everyone raved about! She spoke with Roberto (evening front desk manager) and told him not to charge me for the dinner that Rubycel claimed was scheduled for the night prior. Ironically, there was no charge for the candlelight dinner on my account. Cecelia also suggested checking out at that time and Roberto agreed to do so. However, when I went to return the keys prior to catching the shuttle, the gentleman at the front desk wanted to charge me for a candlelight dinner that was on my account for the night before. So once again, I had to take time out of my vacation to argue with a Seaside employee about what should have been corrected. And to top it off, I never got to use the $100 credit, which seemed to be the intention of Ibeth and Sigri afterall. I wanted to point out the concierge issues first (all noted above) but my partner and I encountered several other issues while at Seaside Palms: -- I got sick early on from what seemed to be undercooked or poorly stored food. Some vomit ended up on the sheets and floor. I cleaned the room as best as I could and left a $60 tip for housekeeping for having to deal with the little mess that was left to clean. To my surprise, I returned to the room with the bed made and the sheets still soiled. -- The first night, we ordered room service and they never came. We called again two hours later and they finally showed up with cold food. -- My partner ordered a hamburger at lunch (the outside restaurant on the Palms beach) and wanted to add cheese. The waiter told her cheese could not be added, even though cheese came on the other hamburgers. It was as if no special requests could be made. -- Because of the fiasco with the candlelight dinner, we were not able to partake in the nightly entertainment, which we waited all week for. It would have been the perfect ending to our last night. -- Although the process went smoothly, the COVID test was very painful. I work in healthcare and have gotten several tests since the beginning of the pandemic. As one guest told me "they must get paid by the inch!" And he was right! My partner coughed and gagged the entire time. At least they only stabbed one nostril. -- I booked a Premium Room because I was told the pool was private and there would be a pool butler. This was not the case. Anyone at the resort was able to visit this pool and there was no butler at all. I also should have been able to use any concierge on site, since it was evident that Ibeth delivered so many errors and broken promises. It doesn't make sense that we were forced to return to her day after day. -- On more than one occasion, we felt discriminated against because we are a same sex couple. Surprisingly, we didn't expect this from Seaside at all. I hate that this trip was not the trip we desired. Prior to our adventure, we heard nothing but good things about Seaside and the Karisma family. Sadly, we encountered discrimination and too many issues that could have been avoided. Even though we handed out a significant amount in tips during our stay, we felt service was lacking tremendously. Needless to say we will not be returning. And yes, I have already emailed customerservice@karismahotels.com regarding the issues encountered during our stay.
