Food was meh. They don’t allow you to bring food to the room so they can charge you $135 for room service, room was very average for the price you pay for, they told me in the reception I had a “complimentary” balcony 😆 which I paid more to have. That was a ridiculous statement from the reception ppl. I came with my elderly mother, the restaurants are far and you need to walk a lot, so if you come with someone who has limited mobility this is not the hotel you want to stay at. I also was annoyed by the service because I went to the reception to get extra towels and they said to call “0” from my room, they could have given them to me right there, hard to believe they make their guests walk back to their rooms empty handed w/o nothing and call someone else. Also the room cleaning lady seemed reluctant to give me more than 1 towel per person because she was gonna have to go back and get more for her rooms she had to clean that day. Not cool

I have been using this hotel for years and I think that the attention from the staff is the best you can have. The waiters, concierge and maids are very attentive and give you a solution. I like the food because it has good seasoning, but I could renew the menu of the specialty restaurants, perhaps seasonally it would be a good option. For family activities it is very good, but some rooms have deteriorating details due to misuse, for example, walls and curtains. Personally, I don't pay much attention, but for me it is important that amenities such as water or soaps and towels are present. For the rest, it is a place where I feel comfortable and meets my expectations. Its strong point: very well-trained staff, weak point: maintenance in areas of continuous use.

Love this hotel but however they let you in until 1:30 and if you go there early they make you wait outside. Workers are very friendly, some of the pools are more warmer than others but mostly are good temperature. If you want to get the seats where the pools and beach are you should go very early because some people even go there and start picking the seats they want at night. They open the pools are 7am but when one of my family members went at 6:30 there were nearly any near the pool and beach. The beach water is warm and there is a lifeguard near the lifeguard there are different strings that separate the ocean the far 2 where the rocks are you cant go to deep. But the other ones you can go as deep as you want. They have 5 restaurants we for breakfast went to Colores where they have pancakes, Fruit, Chilaquiles, eggs, Yogurt, Bread and much more. Then for lunch we went to the bar de los snacks where they served hamburgers, French fries, Hotdogs, Nachos and much more. If you are those people like us that wear swimsuits in the morning because after breakfast you want to go to the beach or pool you NEED to wear clothes over your swimsuits because they don’t let you in the restaurant wet or with swimsuits they let you wear sandals thought. We got room 1924 which is one of the very top ones although we didn’t get balcony we got a nice view of the beach. Since we went in December we got to be in posadas which they do with another hotel called Hotel Azul Grand. They gave you candy, ponches,Atole and they even had 2 piñatas for kids to break. They have karaoke at 8:30pm to 10:00pm.

Don't advertise as an all-inclusive resort, then when you check into your room, there is no refrigerator. When you bring that complaint to the front desk, they basically tell you to bad. When you say you have medications that need to be refrigerated, they tell you to get a bucket of ice to store them in.
They advertised room service. When you call the number to order anything, you get the disconnected tone. We asked the front desk and they said we needed to call between the hours advertised. We did and nothing changed. Room service was not offered when we were there apparently.
If you go walking later in the evening, watch out for the local raccoons that take over the resort and defecate on counters all over the resort that serve food. When you speak up and tell people cleaning the resort 10 feet away, they blow it off like nothing can be done. ISH! I literally watched raccoons defecate on serving tables. We will never visit this resort again. We don't recommend that you visit this resort

Congratulate Arely at reception. I had a particular detail and he attended to me very well. Also in maintenance, I think his name is José Guadalupe, he is the technician. The waiters very good. The captain of waiters at the Costa Azul restaurant was also very good. In general, to improve, I think they should implement some policy so that guests do not remove the lounge chairs from the pool. Many of the lounge chairs only had blue towels to put them aside and there were almost none free. It would still be nice if they had more umbrellas, since in some places they are needed. Everything else is very good.

I want to make my comment as objective as possible.
The pros:
swimmable beach
General cleaning of the hotel
comfortable beds
The cons:
The check-in
Little variety of food in the restaurants and maybe not very fresh because my son got sick the first night.

We arrived at the hotel at check-in time (3pm) super tired and they told me that my room was not ready and that if I wanted a room I had to pay for an upgrade per night. Very annoying because that is why it is reserved in advance. They need to train their reception staff because they don't even offer you an apology. I told him that it was not fair because that is why I booked and paid in advance and that the terms of the reservation had to be respected because it clearly says that check-in is at 3pm and I did not agree to pay more for another room or wait hours to have it ready. I asked to speak to the manager, who did not come out but offered us an upgrade to another room that was not ready either.

It is a shame that their customer service is so basic, although it is not a luxury hotel, it could respect what it offers and provide fair solutions from the beginning.

It is the third time in this hotel. When it was Meliá I went with my parents and the service was very good that's why I returned. This time I went as a mother of a family and I was disappointed by the welcome. I wanted to relax for a few days, and I found myself explaining to the receptionist that the terms and conditions agreed upon in the reservation made with the hotel must be respected.

In general the hotel is good and objectively there are employees who try to do their job well and are friendly. For us it was only the first day that was very unpleasant, with the check-in problem and my son sick to his stomach at night. The rest of the stay was good.

Make sure they don't host you below the karaoke because you can hear everything!! We asked for two consecutive rooms and they only gave us those!! When there are thousands of rooms, we came with two small children who sleep early and it was worth it and they didn't even tell us about the noise there could be. We booked 2 weeks in advance!! They blew it up!! Everything good about the hotel is lost with their lack of tact in this situation and if you complain they do absolutely nothing!!

Booked a two night stay. Room was large and clean. Balcony was large but NO chair, table, stool or anything. Basically a large place you could stand.

Around noon of second day we started talking to another couple in the pool. They claimed the access road to the hotel was going to be closed the next day. Since that was our departure day, we immediately went to reception. They confirmed that because of an event, the road to the hotel would be closed from 5:00 am to 2:00 pm. We explained that we had a flight out at 3:30 pm. They said our options were:
1) leave the hotel before 5:00 am or
2) find other accommodations in adjacent town for the night
They were emphatic that there would be NO refund given.

They knew of this well in advance and failed to inform guests either at time of booking or at check-in.

Have already initiated dispute with credit card company.

Beware and avoid!

My wife and I spent nine nights at the resort. She booked everything and having visited many Mexican sunspots, the Ixtapa/Zihuantanejo area simply could not be beat. The resort was somewhat quiet at under 50 percent occupancy. The buffets were as expected, the specialty restaurants were good but avoid the steak served at the steakhouse as thin and overcooked. The staff were very kind, a little bit of a language barrier but perhaps we could have learned more spanish. We tipped every meal as suggested, not much, 20-50 pesos but we were well taken care of at every sitting. Met some great fellow Canadians and it was lovely to meet some vacationing nationals with their families. Very safe environment, no issues with leaving things around the pool area and the nightly room cleaning was impressive. Borderline excellent but every accommodation must strive to be better. This resort is located ten kilometers from Ixtapa, not overly handly if you're looking to dine out, away from the resort as it's a 200 Peso taxi ride in either direction. I wouldn't recommend for nightlife or young adults looking to party/socialize, that's not the market they're targeting.

I found this site posted from last year but might help you make decision: Mexico and the Caribbean with a Baby: Getting Around Chances are you’ll be flying with baby to get where you’re headed, but once you’re there you still need to figure out how you’ll get around. Most package vacations include hotel transfers, and they’re usually via a coach bus where a car seat is not necessary. But if you think you’ll want to get out and explore, even a little, it’s worth the hassle to bring your car seat along. Travel with a Baby and Car Seat: We made the (relatively small) investment in a travel car seat, which we also used in Grandma’s car at home. Travel with a car seat is a pain in the butt, but even if it sat in our hotel room unused, we have never regretted bringing ours along. And frankly you’re taking a chance if you rent a car seat from a car rental agency. You have no idea of that car seat’s history, or even if it will be legal or clean. Public Transportation with a Baby: In some places, public transportation is modern and clean and air-conditioned. In some places it is NOT. Taxis are hit and miss in a lot of smaller destinations. If you come across a good one, take your driver’s contact information! If you want to go sightseeing or do a day trip, you’re better off hiring a taxi or private car. You can go at your own pace and install your car seat. It probably won’t cost much more, either.

If you mean the restaurant on the boardwalk between the Azul Beach resort and the Azul Grand, there are no oysters of any kind served there! Crazy eh? It is a beautiful spot though!
