One of my frequently visited places and in the main it's good. It was a busy evening and our server forgot the champagne, twice. That aside the food service was good, nothing too fussy but fresh well cooked quality food, I had the chicken breast with baby asparagus and mash and my friend the cod. The atmosphere was busy but... Lovey pub, convenient to Windsor and Heathrow. Dinner was very good. Breakfast equally so. Service was fine for both meals. We stayed overnight in room number 6. Room spacious and neat bathroom. All was good until the hot water starts to be used in the morning, seemingly in any of the other rooms, as the hot water system then cranks... More

We stayed for 4 nights while attending the PGA Golf Championship at Wentworth. On the one hand we were delighted with our room which was clean and comfortable. There was however an issue with speed of service in the dining room both at breakfast and dinner. This is not to criticise the staff who were clearly doing their best. The problem... More

Coming to Windsor or Ascot, take a look at this country pub with style and panache. Rooms are clean and comfortable, pub food is excellent and the local Mercedes taxi is £15-£20 into central Windsor. Save on the room cost and enjoy the countryside. We have found a hidden gem and will be back again for another stay in the... More

The hotel is part of a pub set in quiet village. The staff were very helpful and friendly and our room which looked like it was recently built was well equipped, bright and very clean. The free wi-fi was fast and connected easily in our room, there was ample free parking . We had a most enjoyable evening meal in... More

We ate here after an afternoon at Windsor Races. The first two courses were very good. Puddings were not so good and the panna cotta was dreadful but service friendly and attentive. However, on checking the bill there were three drinks which we had not ordered or received. The waiter said "couldn't understand how that happened" and rectified the bill... More

Met a colleague for a working lunch and when we got the laptops out they moved us to a bigger table straight away. The food was good, the service was great and the wine list looked impressive. It would be great to go back for a social meal. I would thoroughly recommend to anyone in the area.

My son and I stopped overnight on our way down to Devon and could not have been made to feel more welcome. My son had missed lunch, but the kitchen was still open and created a sumptuous plate of home cooked ham, egg & chips. What better food to accompany the delicious beer they serve from Uphams Brewery! We did... More

This is a great little, country hotel. We used to eat here before we immigrated, when it was the Cottage Inn - a restaurant/bistro pub. We booked in for two nights before returning to Canada. Overall a great experience. Friendly, efficient staff. Great breakfasts and dinner. I had a deliciously cooked Pork rib eye; my wife had one of the... More

Spent 3 lovely nights in this I believe 17th Century Hotel/Pub/Restaurant. On arrival on the Friday evening the place was packed with people drinking and eating. There are lovely old wooden beams on the ceilings and two cosy open woodburning fires. The bar is lovely and the restaurant layout/decor and food EXCELLENT. We had two lovely meals and three breakfasts.... More
