Staying right now at the resort. Very poor service. All workers look miserable. We have come back to our room after 5pm and it is still not done. It's a mess. We were told we have to wait now until 8pm for the room to be done. Unacceptable. Massive queues for any bar, they try to over charge you for everything, you can't go to some restaurants unless you pay more etc. It's not really an All Inclusive butca tourist trap with the lowest level of service you can imagine.
We have just got home from one of the best holidays of our life! We found the hotel to be beautiful, very clean and the staff were amazing with us. We arrived at 2:00 and were welcomed to the hotel with a welcome drink while the bell boys took our bags and our concierge talked us through check in and then took us to the restaurant to have lunch before it ended at 3 which worked well as check in doesn’t open till 3. Jose then helped us to check in at 3 and it was a very smooth and quick process, upgrading us to a king room rather than a double! The food in the main buffet restaurant is really good, we couldn’t get over how well this hotel is run. This is a large resort with a lot of people staying here but there is more than enough staff to ensure that your holiday is relaxing and dreamy. Peterson who works in the main buffet was amazing, he was so friendly, helpful and polite. He always went out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed and we never had to wait long for our drinks. We tipped our waiters when we thought the service deserved it and was surprised at how most guests were not tipping. It is not expected to tip here but the staff definitely deserve it. Two days into our trip we received a letter under our door to say we had been invited to a special dinner on the beach at 7:30. We were confused as we hadn’t booked anything for this time but we were so pleasantly surprised when we turned up to see round tables dressed for dinner for all the British guests (which was not very many), while a man played an electric violin exceptionally well! Again the food this evening was great, loads of option and very tasty. We pre booked our excursions with our travel agent before we arrived but there were four operators and concierge in the lobby to help you do this if you need. The hotel workers do a great job at clearing the sea weed off the beach and it was clear every day that we were there. We spent all of our free days down at the beach as it was so relaxing and stunning. The only fault we had was the booking system for the restaurants. We went to the hut every day only to be greeted by a rude member of staff on her phone and taking selfies while talking to us. If the hotel buffet food and service from staff wasn’t as amazing as it was then this would have really annoyed us but we just brushed it off to not allow it to ruin our trip. Overall we have had a really good holiday and can’t thank the staff of the hotel enough for helping to make our holiday so special. It is clear the staff work really hard and we really appreciated all their efforts. We hope to return again soon!…
Best beach and best team to bavaro beach with a possibility to have speciality food or buffet really good. special big up to gasulina because she was the best here. We have pass a good week with my family and my friend.
We are still in Punta Cana and we’re due to stay at Impressive for the entirety of our trip. However due to the extremely uncomfortable beds, terrible food with flies imbedded in the sauces, dirty plastic cups for drinks and watered down alcohol, this is no where near a 4 star let alone 5 star hotel. After the 1st night of having to sleep with 4 pillows pilled on top of the mattress to gain some kind of comfort we complained to the front desk to be told for us to have a comfier bed we would need to upgrade to premium at 500USD. I refused to pay more for my comfort after having paid £2700 already for a “luxury” holiday. They then said they would send someone to make the bed comfier but all they did was leave 2 fleece blankets in the room (not sure how that would help) after the 2nd night of another dreadful sleep i complained a second time to which they then agreed to move us rooms with a comfier bed. This in fact turned in to be a downgrade from our last room because the bed was the exact same only this time we didn’t have a sea view, we were in an older building and the AC was broken. We went to the front desk again to complain about the bed and now the AC and they said they would send someone to fix the bed and AC. An hour later someone arrived with 2 more fleece blankets and the person who came to fix the AC just turned it off and said it was fixed. I ended up having a panic attack in my room feeling so out of control, so far away from home and having felt robbed of a luxury relaxing holiday i just wanted to go home. I will be leaving a review for TUI also as i will NEVER book a holiday through them again. The next morning at breakfast we went to get some food, i quote my partner, it was “fly central” flies everywhere around the buffet food and even swimming in the ketchup. The food was already bad, tasteless stale and cold, the flies were the tipping point. We even were refused coca cola at breakfast even though we are at an all inclusive resort and on holiday! After 3 night of no sleep, i decided i didn’t want to spend any longer in this hotel so we booked the Caribe Deluxe Princess and checked out. Only once we went to the front desk to check out early with our bags did the staff then want to upgrade us for free to their best room available but it was too late, i had visited the front desk 3 times crying and they didn’t seem to care then. A holiday that ALMOST turned into the worst holiday ever has been saved by the breathtaking Caribe Deluxe Princess a REAL 5 star hotel. To my fellow british tourists please think twice when booking this holiday, it isn’t worth the stress or money!…
The best resort ever we loved so much have fun with the entertainment team the best in punta cana we danced a lot and we did a lot activities with champagne the best entertainer ever and the best dancer there . He was always with us making us have a great time and participate in his activities every morning and every afternoon . And the shows at night . Thanks champagne you’re the best yoga and Zumba and aerobic instructor
Nice place. Good atmosphere. Fun. Cons: - You're a dollar sign, and they will try hard to upsell you: Premium suite/service, time shares, activities, etc. - Lack of honesty/transparency. They will tell you anything to make you buy.
The rooms are awful, dated with broken furniture and fixtures, mould on walls and rather dirty. Seemed more like a motel room. Spend a bit more and book somehwere else. Our friends even got money stolen from their room.... The only good things were the animation team, some of the staff and the beach. Booking restaurants was ok if you got there early enough, but food wasn't impressive. At the French restaurant I had plastic shreds in my dish... As a general tip, don't buy cigars/rum from the beach or the hotel vendors as they're fake and way overpriced. You'll find better deals at the duty free on your way back home. The management doesn't really care, as you can tell from their copy-paste replies
Review We booked just under two weeks at The Impressive through a local travel agent. Flights with British Airways, accommodation, transfers £2000pp all in. Check in at the hotel was fine and friendly. As with other reviews the option of Premium was upsold. We were offered a discount from $1500 USD to $550 for our stay. We declined and weren’t pushed any further, so I can’t complain too much. (We were given the option to “make an offer” for what we thought reasonable; maybe we should have tried our luck with $50pp!) Rooms clean, spacious and relatively well appointed. Superking bed, coffee machine, free mini bar (water, Sprite, Coke and a couple of small beers restocked daily), TV with rubbish signal, and safe. Rooms were cleaned daily and there was always an effort made on presentation with towels/flowers etc. Three general access pools, the main one where the vast majority of the afternoon is dominated by activities, one near the pool with a volleyball net which gets a bit of casual use and then the quiet pool which we didn’t use - preferring the beach side one. Beach space is somewhat limited, but we could always find a Sun lounger. Again being kept clean of seaweed by staff regularly. There is a small bar at the top of the beach which develops a bit of a queue, but never one you’ll be waiting in for very long, and a bigger bar between the two main pools. This one also has a swim up section where we spent most the afternoons (Joe looked after us very well) and again never gets horrendously busy - we could always get a seat within about 5mins tops. Food: The main buffet is fine. It’s a buffet at a reasonably large all inclusive resort. I would describe it as “organised chaos” but there is a sense of organisation. The staff show you to tables and seat you and we never had to wait for a table. There is a large mix of food which is standard fare for anyone that has been to a similar sort of resort before. You’ll find something to eat - and I never saw chips/fries which was a welcome change. It sometimes takes a while for staff to get a drink to you (I think sometimes they forget where people were sat) so maybe take one in with you if you don’t just want water! Queues for food were always moving; and your food was still warm by the time you get it back to your seat. The a La carte restaurants we were impressed with, doing all but “On the Grill” twice (it was ok, just not our favourite). We never struggled for reservations, but we were quite relaxed with where we went on what day etc. I have read reviews of people not getting what they wanted - and I think it depends how flexible you are willing to be. Later reservations seemed easier to get… The Japanese restaurant is simple, but entertaining (you’ll be in and out in an hour) and both the French and Italian restaurants we were surprised with the quality and presentation for a resort restaurant. We both agreed we would happily pay for the quality of food if served to us in a bistro/trattoria style restaurant. We got a note under the door afternoon inviting us to a “Special Dinner” on the beach and not to make a reservation that night. We already had but decided to enquire afterwards. We were pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t a timeshare sell or sunrise - it was a small buffet with bar for British guests which was a nice chance to talk to some other people. We noticed that other nations had similar “private” events throughout the week. (I think the French one was bingo with drinks and nibbles, which I’d have quite liked!) We also did a wine tasting one afternoon as an extra charge ($10pp USD) where we had 6 glasses (3x2) of wine each with nibbles and lasted about an hour. Was a nice, relaxed time and worth the price for the amount of wine you got (which was not their house varieties) and a change of scenery. There is a great little coffee shop to the left of the main check in desk doing barista style coffees/cakes. Forego a filter coffee at breakfast and go here afterwards! Evening entertainment is varied and pretty good. The circus show is very impressive and the magic keeps you guessing. Some of the others were a bit less impressive, but they give you something to look at while you drink another cocktail. My main gripe about evenings (and this is me being grumpy more than anything) is that the main bar is far too small to be the only bar open and lacks staffing. It often creates a long queue that snakes round the lobby. Seating is also at a premium. There are lots of comfy sofas/armchairs that work well during the day when the lobby is a “lobby” but when it becomes the main bar you may find yourself finding a chair in the unlit “theatre” area prior to the show. You also can’t escape the music - so if you want to talk with friends/family or perhaps play a game of cards etc you may need to find an alternative location. The main problem with music is it appears to be the same playlist that is used all day for pool/beach activities so not only is it a bit too lively, but you’ve heard it a few times already! Personally if we weren’t planning on watching the show we stocked up on a few drinks and then kept them cool in the minibar fridge and then retired to the room terrace/balcony. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. There are multilingual and as said in other reviews - if you have some basic Spanish it is definitely well received. One even offered to lend me a case for my phone seeing a wasn’t using one! There are tour operators/activities milling around during the day (including photographers with parrots/monkeys/etc) who will approach you - but no one pushes a hard sell. The souvenir vendors are a little different and pop up twice a week from mid afternoon to evening and will be strategically placed so you always have to walk past one. If they can get you talking you’ll have a harder job escaping… Having been to numerous all inclusive resorts, this is probably my favourite one overall. We enjoyed just under two weeks here quite happily - and would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the Punta Cana area.…
What makes this hotel is the animation team, in particular Gasolina, she is so uplifting and helpful and I loved her cooking class and they all go out of their way to make sure everyone is having a good time. They entertainment is amazing, we especially enjoyed the circus and the karaoke. There are different restaurants which you can book with a lady called Joanna, who is also so helpful and smiley. The service from all the staff is just amazing and a pleasure to be around. The beach and pool are lovely and there’s always something to do. Saying this, certain things let the hotel down, the food was not amazing as it seemed to always be cold and sometimes made me and my group ill. The room was a good size, however there was damp on the walls and this meant sometimes it smelt, I’m not sure if having the aircon on all the time would help? The cleaners were great and always gave an extra towel if we asked for one, however they would come very early everyday at around 8.15AM when we were still in bed. …
We booked this thinking we would get luxury and the pictures sold us the hotel however we didn't check all reviews. First time in Dominican and the hotel ruined it. We came and they were doing works to the hotel all the time and nothing was right with this hotel, i have already claimed partial of my money back from TUI. HOWEVER DO NOT GO PREMIUM, its not worth the money they throw this at you making out that your room will be rubbish! The cost of this $1800 although that's over £1400 for 12 nights for not really much more. As they advised they were going to put us opposite the building site next door we went premium and paid a one off $300 to have our room round the main pool and we had a partial sea view, room was okay but lots of faults with it and premium didn't meet high expectations and they gave us our money back on the LAST day of us going home when they said it would be there well before?! Hotel reception lie to get you away from the desk! Beach is awful spoke to manager and asked why they don't have a tractor up and down the beach to get rid of the sea weed and he advised they have only recently put the permit in however the hotel had been open many years and should have done this by now! food awful and don't cater for the brits, American's or Canadian's, the other restaurants are not really the best however they're better. the whole hotel was full of faults however if the faults weren't there it would be a great hotel. Good points.... half the staff are brilliant and the entertainment were brilliant! The WIFI was perfect especially when we had our firestick and we were streaming as we had all day storms whilst there. We ignored the hotel and made sure we had good holiday but Unfortunately I got very ill whilst there and we feel this was a bacterial infection due to dirty glasses for water which I went home with the infection and stopped me from eating much for a couple of weeks. Overall recommendation to this hotel go if you want to moan and be ill.…
