I'm not entirely sure why Calcot has had a few poor reviews of late. My partner and i visit Calcot every November to celebrate my birthday... we've just arrived home after another wonderful stay. We couldn't fault anything... Fantastic service in all areas, especially the spa and the two restaurants. Our room, The Tyndale, was my favourite yet. Large, luxurious,... More

Had another great evening here. The food as ever is excellent and the venue is just wonderful. As in my previous reviews though sometimes the service slips. It just doesn't have that real excellence that really would be a wow. As I've said before I'd rate it 5 when this changes. Spilling Dom Perignon by slurping it out of a... More

We stopped off on a long journey from Speyside to Hampshire and were warmly welcomed after a tiring drive south. Our room was gorgeous (and it was the dog room since our pets were travelling too) and well appointed, although we were disturbed briefly by people leaving the bar late and stopping to chat loudly outside our window - fortunately... We regular go to Calcot for drinks and an evening meal here. Excellent service as you would expect from an establishment like this. The bar features a great choice of wines and if you do dine there, the food is exceptional. The kitchen staff are also great in providing a bespoke service happily editing the dish to suit your preferences.... More

We arrived too early to check in (but didnt ask) so had a lovely hour or more in their Gumstool inn - didnt want a big Sunday lunch but what a lovely place to have a few Tapas style plates and a nice glass of wine. Iberico ham was superb and a 1/2 pint of prawns delicious and not overpriced... More

Calcot Manor is disappointing and we won't visit again. The photographs on the web or in the glossy brochures of a calm environment are a disguise for the chaos that runs through this place. There are so many young families with babies and young children that nappies, bottles and buggies rule. The dining room at breakfast is reminiscent of a bomb... More

The room and grounds are terrific. We stayed for 3 days and the weather was wonderful which allowed us to make the best use of the hotel grounds. The service was excellent. We have stayed there a couple of times before. The problem is the food. First night my wife's chicken was rare when we complained they agreed and she... More

Family celebration with 11 of us in 3 rooms. Facilities are excellent, kids have lots to do, food is very good. Free bikes, good pool, play zone. Breakfasts excellent. However, meal times in the Conservatory can be chaotic. No-one seems to be in control; you have to ask for menus, ask to be be taken to your table, ask to... More

The Rooms had that homely feel and were very comfortable. They have a pub for a more informal meal, but the food was very good nonetheless. As for the restaurant, wow! Great food, wine and service! Also, is well catered for families with little ones. The Spa is also fantastic, had some lovely treatments and came back refreshed. A fantastic... More

The kids club here is absolutely brilliant. The rooms also are completely child friendly and they can also organise babysitters etc for the evening. The restaurant is good and again very child friendly with the gumstool serving all types of food.
