Great food, accommodation and, as ever, a big welcome and sense of care from all staff. We have stayed at The Black Horse on several occasions in the past and introduced two lots of friends to its comfortable ambience. We will be back again soon.

I used the Black Horse for a 1 night stopover on the way north. Although it was cold and dark outside, the interior of the pub is warm and welcoming, with a traditional country pub feel. The bedroom was well furnished, with some nice touches such as bath robes. Food in the pub was excellent quality, better than most, and...

We stayed at the Black Horse over Xmas, it was lovely to be back and it felt relaxing and Christmassy as soon as we walked in. The staff are always so friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. We will definitely be back

Amazing. Such a nice room, with garden access. REALLY attentive staff who made the stay so much more enjoyable with their interactions and thoughtful 'small gestures' which were actually big gestures. The food is amazing, and we had the good fortune to chat to the Chef and pick his brains for trialling some cooking of our own Game! Well worth...

A gem of an inn. We have stayed here many times and everything has always been faultless, food, service, rooms, public areas and staff. The chef and his team produce dishes of exceptionally high standard, a meal to really look forward after a day spent exploring the local area!

Really enjoyed our two nights stay at the Black Horse Inn, including New Year's Eve and my fiancé's birthday. A great welcome on arrival we were swiftly shown our room (Milton Suite) which was a standard size bedroom but with a really wow bathroom. Loved the relaxing decor and cosy robes. We ate in the bar/restaurant both nights and really...

Boxing Day lunch with immediate family and mum. Eight of us in total. All enjoyed their food. Good selection, great portions for my "big eaters" and very reasonable prices. Been a few times, never been let down. I like the bar restaurant more than formal one as it has a lovely roaring fire. Try this place for lunch or dinner...

What an amazing place! Stayed on 27th Dec, in Desert Orchid (or Orchid Desert) the room was absolutely amazing, and had a roll top bath. Went for the half board offer. The food was amazing, just gutted I was too full to sample their desserts! The staff are fabulous also! Everything's lovely about the Black Horse Inn, and I'll definitely...

My wife and I had Xmas Day lunch at the Black Horse. It was stunning. The food was fantastic by the "relatively" newly appointed and highly awarded chef. Also, great to see an experienced front of house team running like clock-work whilst being in the festive mood. A lot, and I mean a lot, of diners arrived within a 30...

It was our pleasure to look after you. Thank you for taking time out to share your experience with the trip advisor world. Christmas Day lunch is undoubtedly the most important meal we serve all year and to receive feedback like this is exceptionally rewarding to the whole team.

We stopped here en route from London to Scotland and had a lovely pre-Christmas night's stay. Dinner in the restaurant was hearty and good value but the breakfast in the bar beside the open fire stands out. The room was welcoming with many nice little touches and the reception was proper Yorkshire hospitality. Thanks to all.
