Chivapuri is an idyllic resort, located on the southern tip of Koh Chang, on one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. On one side the sea, on the other side not far away the jungle. The complex is very well maintained, beautifully landscaped with tropical plants and flowers in the extensive garden, has a distinctly large outdoor pool with a separated flat pool. Fitted into nature very nicely and carefully aligned by the architecture are the two-storey cottages with spacious rooms and modern bathrooms. High-quality carved furniture made of local woods completes the stylish ambience. Beds and bedding are also high quality and very pleasant. Cleanliness and service excellent. In general, the entire team led by Mrs. Natty in all areas very friendly, professional and guest oriented. In one of the wooden circular buildings there is a restaurant with adjoining outdoor area and a sea-facing chill area. Here, too, under the leadership of the restaurant chef Noy, the perfect service with high quality and a menu. Excellent is the barbeque offered several times a week with fresh fish, seafood and meat. Chivapuri is ideal for couples as well as families with small children. However, you need a car or scooter or have to walk about 15 min. to the nearby village of Ban Bang Bao (which is known for its fish restaurants) to then take the collective taxi here if you want to do something outside. We had a wonderful time here and recommend the Chivapuri gladly.

Staying at Chivapuri Beach Resort was wonderful. We had the beautiful and very spacious family room A1 in the 1st floor. Floor, right next to reception. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms spacious and the terrace overlooking the pool and beach invited you to linger. We were particularly impressed by the staff: an incredibly long attendance time and yet always a smile ready, helpful (organization of a 2. Scooters) and extraordinarily friendly. The breakfast buffet had new dishes and little things ready every day, which is why our children liked to get up just because of the morning. The pool and beach were always clean. The water in the pool was a little too cold, but okay. The beach is in our opinion the most beautiful on the island. The location of the resort is great: a bit secluded, away from the tourist hotspots, but still close to the main road and thus with good connections.

We spent 7 days with family in a family room, the hotel is very well maintained, there were few of us as tourists, however the staff was attentive to us at all times. The breakfast is very well stocked, you will find everything you want in terms of drinks or food. Housekeeping done every day and impeccably. The swimming pool is also very well located and large in size facing the sea. Regarding the beach, it is rather white sand, however there are a lot of rocks and therefore not great for swimming. Be careful though because the hotel is located on the southern tip of the island if you want entertainment or going out every evening it will be complicated especially if you go through the beach to access the other restaurants be careful with dogs which are numerous and can sometimes be aggressive at night. Special mention for the hotel manager Noy Pichit (little gentleman with glasses)

We arrived around 12.30pm and got our bungalow by the sea. The bungalow has a size of 120 sqm. It is constructed in Thai style. The bathroom has a bathtub for 2 people, the bathroom is very large and also has a shower. From the bathroom you can also reach the outdoor shower which is accessible through a door. Also, the bungalow has a terrace with two loungers and a table, overlooking the sea. The stay was a dream.
The pool was also very nice if the parents with their children have not exactly claimed.
The breakfast was if you were there early still sufficient, if afterwards the food was replenished I can't say as we were there early.
We would definitely recommend the resort.

We reviewed a number of resorts on Koh Chang before finally booking into the Chivapuri resort. It's at the very southerly end of the Island past Bang Bao which meant it was somewhat more relaxed than other's further up the coast which made it more appealing for our family stay.
We arrived in the low season and the place was fairly deserted and we were shown to a room at the back of the resort which was fairly dingy, so made a fuss and got moved to one of the ground floor rooms overlooking the pool which took some negotiation, but we were glad we pushed.
Having settled into the poolside room, we had the most incredibly relaxing stay at this lovely resort. Noy, the manager, was friendly and kind and the room was very clean and exceptionally comfortable. The white sandy beach was just meters away and the pool was extremely nice to laze by and swim in.
The resort is close enough to Bang Bao for a gentle stroll into town, without feeling overwhelmed, plus there are enough places to eat and for drinks along the beach or in the way Bang Bao itself if you're happy for a 15 minute walk.
We adventured nearby and visited a nearby waterfall and checked out the Ghost Ship, a slightly bizarre abandoned resort with a huge fake cruise liner as accommodation, which was cool.
If you're looking for a place to relax and unwind in beautiful surroundings with lovely amenities then I would recommend the Chivapuri resort highly.

We chose Chivapuri based on numerous positive recommendations. The resort itself is undeniably stunning: beautiful lighting in the evenings, lush tropical plants and palm trees, and a well-maintained beach area with swings for both kids and adults. The pool with a children’s section is another highlight. The rooms – we stayed in a junior suite – are spacious, tastefully furnished, and very clean. In this regard, there’s nothing to criticize.
However, there were some significant issues:
1. Worn-out beach loungers: Unfortunately, the beach loungers are in poor condition, many of them old and worn. Initially, there weren’t enough loungers available, forcing guests to sit on towels in the sand. After complaining to management, more loungers were provided, but many of these were still damaged or had splintering wood. This is disappointing for a resort of this caliber.
2. Language barriers with staff: While the staff is genuinely trying to make the guests' stay as pleasant as possible, many of them speak little to no English. It was particularly frustrating that the staff member who accompanied us to our room during check-in also spoke no English, making communication difficult. This does not meet the standard one would expect from an international resort.
3. Issues with insects and mosquito protection: Being located in the jungle naturally brings a variety of insects, which is not a problem if you’re prepared. However, even with high-strength mosquito repellent (50% DEET), I was bitten extensively. Those sensitive to insects should keep this in mind when booking.
4. Poor accessibility: The remote location of the resort has its pros and cons. While it offers peace and a close-to-nature experience, the private road leading to the resort is apparently avoided by many taxi drivers. We were often dropped off at the beginning of the beach and had to walk around 10 minutes to the resort with our luggage and small children. Without a personal vehicle, the resort is only partially suitable for families with kids.
Conclusion:
The resort itself is beautiful, and the staff works hard to provide guests with a great stay. However, there are several issues that cannot be overlooked – from the dilapidated beach loungers to language barriers and difficult accessibility. Those considering Chivapuri should weigh these points carefully to avoid disappointment. With some improvements, the resort could reach its full potential.

This property is located in a very quiet area on the south coast about 45 min from the docking point on Ko Chang Island. Ideal for a relaxing holiday. Very nice beach, friendly staff, a beach bar/restaurant where you can have lunch, dinner or drink a great cocktail. Recommended.

Great facility, friendly staff, clean housekeeping…. The facility is very well maintained, gardening is constantly going on everywhere…! Our junior suite is well furnished, everything is very high quality, great bathroom! Breakfast is OK, the selection is something for everyone….unfortunately they don't refill it, so if you come later it looks a bit poor, and the hot dishes are rather cold and things like yoghurt and fruit are rather warm…! This could be improved a bit. The food in the restaurant is also rather expensive….service is automatically added at 10%….so a small beer costs 110 THB, for example… The pool is great and the location in general too….you just have to know that you can't quickly go shopping on foot. The friendly staff will help you rent a scooter. We'd love to come back….a great place to relax…..!

Well established hotel for a comfortable family stay.
The first room we were given was a bit disappointing as it was quite dark and secluded and one of the showers didn't work. As it was newly refurbished, there was no TV yet and was quite dusty.
However, Natty and Sun did their best and found us a fabulous large room overlooking the beach and sea (room b2).
The hotel is far from the main parts of the island so it is very quiet. There are lots of places to eat along the beach, we at Gingers House and also Siam on the beach.
Breakfast was basic, but enough, the kitchen prepared us a vegan pad thai or fried rice as there wasn't much for vegans.
The beach is lovely, but due to the season, the water wasn't very clear.
Overall a great place to stay if you like to get away from the hustle and bustle.

Set in beautiful, expansive and lush tropical forest gardens Chivapuri is a haven of calm and peacefulness. Approximately 2 hours from Trat airport in a taxi and ferry, the resort is set on the south east corner of Koh Chang on a golden sandy beach. Our taxi was spacious, modern and well cooled and our driver incredibly friendly and helpful. All the staff are absolutely amazing, the groundsmen and women are always busy keeping the paths clear of leaves, housekeeping do their best to make you feel at home and the wonderful people in reception, restaurant and bar became like part of the family to us. Particular praise has to go to Barry on reception for not only making our stay memorable, but also making us feel more than welcome and like nothing was too much to ask, because of Barry it was a once in a lifetime holiday for my wife and I. Noi, Guitar and Anne were amazing hosts in the restaurant, but everyone at the resort was hard working, welcoming and always friendly. We stayed in a Junior Suite (D5, which has a slight view of the sea), which occupies the top floor of the two-story houses behind the few beach villas there are. We had neighbours downstairs a couple of times, but never heard anything from them and always felt like we had the place to ourselves. The resort backs on to the jungle that goes on to the national park and we were lucky to see amazing birds like the greater racket-tailed drongo, little squirrel like animals as well as a green pit viper and lots of monkeys. The cicadas struck up every night just before sunset and were so loud it was like a siren, just absolutely amazing to experience with the beautiful red sunset, which we watched with a cocktail from the bar area beach most nights. The resort is the last one on the beach and definitely a cut above the others as far as we are concerned. We stayed at the end of December and the sea was warm if a little murky from sand being whirled up by small waves. The pool is quite cold in contrast, but was also lovely to cool down in on hot days. Whenever I come to Thailand, I love to eat Thai cuisine, and we were not disappointed at the resort. The staff even went out of their way to provide me with a dish not on their menu that I absolutely love (morning glory), yet they have a large menu that includes plenty of European options, even if they are adapted to what is available in Thailand. I saw lots of European families eating pasta dishes and they seemed as happy as I was with my satay’s and Thai curry’s. It was the second year of the pandemic and when we first arrived, there were not many guests and so not all facilities (like the spa) were available. However, everyone did their best to help and we ended up having massages a few metres down the beach for the first week. When they did open the spa, the massages were amazing, you really felt the ladies knew all about anatomy . All in all we absolutely loved Chivapuri and would recommend it to anyone visiting Koh Chang.

Hi, The family room we were in was on the second floor and I can highly recommend the room! I don't think there are familyrooms on the ground floor but you can check with the hotel management.
The sea will be at the normal level, it only changes with the tides and is swimmable.
The village is a short distance away. We had a rental care, but the hotel provides a shuttle service.
Have fun in Thailand!
