Set in beautiful, expansive and lush tropical forest gardens Chivapuri is a haven of calm and peacefulness. Approximately 2 hours from Trat airport in a taxi and ferry, the resort is set on the south east corner of Koh Chang on a golden sandy beach. Our taxi was spacious, modern and well cooled and our driver incredibly friendly and helpful. All the staff are absolutely amazing, the groundsmen and women are always busy keeping the paths clear of leaves, housekeeping do their best to make you feel at home and the wonderful people in reception, restaurant and bar became like part of the family to us. Particular praise has to go to Barry on reception for not only making our stay memorable, but also making us feel more than welcome and like nothing was too much to ask, because of Barry it was a once in a lifetime holiday for my wife and I. Noi, Guitar and Anne were amazing hosts in the restaurant, but everyone at the resort was hard working, welcoming and always friendly. We stayed in a Junior Suite (D5, which has a slight view of the sea), which occupies the top floor of the two-story houses behind the few beach villas there are. We had neighbours downstairs a couple of times, but never heard anything from them and always felt like we had the place to ourselves. The resort backs on to the jungle that goes on to the national park and we were lucky to see amazing birds like the greater racket-tailed drongo, little squirrel like animals as well as a green pit viper and lots of monkeys. The cicadas struck up every night just before sunset and were so loud it was like a siren, just absolutely amazing to experience with the beautiful red sunset, which we watched with a cocktail from the bar area beach most nights. The resort is the last one on the beach and definitely a cut above the others as far as we are concerned. We stayed at the end of December and the sea was warm if a little murky from sand being whirled up by small waves. The pool is quite cold in contrast, but was also lovely to cool down in on hot days. Whenever I come to Thailand, I love to eat Thai cuisine, and we were not disappointed at the resort. The staff even went out of their way to provide me with a dish not on their menu that I absolutely love (morning glory), yet they have a large menu that includes plenty of European options, even if they are adapted to what is available in Thailand. I saw lots of European families eating pasta dishes and they seemed as happy as I was with my satay’s and Thai curry’s. It was the second year of the pandemic and when we first arrived, there were not many guests and so not all facilities (like the spa) were available. However, everyone did their best to help and we ended up having massages a few metres down the beach for the first week. When they did open the spa, the massages were amazing, you really felt the ladies knew all about anatomy . All in all we absolutely loved Chivapuri and would recommend it to anyone visiting Koh Chang.…
It is more a collection of beach bungalows than an actual resort, but very nice, clean and friendly hard working staff. Breakfast was plentiful and the staff went out of their way and sourced Nutella for our daughter. Rooms are nice with an impressive 6 m ceiling in the junior suite. It is the last resort on the island and a bit remote, but well suited for a few days stay.
A beautiful setting and nice staff but leaving aside minor gripes...aircon broken, wifi intermittent, indifferent food and slightly damp rather gloomy ground floor room - our main problem was the large number of families with young children. For example the Infinity Pool looks fantastic on website but is very different when full of kids with footballs, frisbees and inflatables. Not anti children but whilst anticipated quiet & relaxing stay the reality was busy & noisy Disappointing. Room tips- avoid a1,3 & 5 as terrace under staircase
Many people's travels Requires planning Take time to research To be used for tourism and leisure The most Because everyone will find free time and save money, it is very difficult. And traveling must achieve the goal that is to be the happiest. Today I discovered Kong Koi Beach (Ko Chang Thailand). The beach is located at the end of the island. Way of business And still maintain the natural beauty Ready to welcome everyone. And there is a 4-star hotel to certify everyone. Thank you
Stayed in oceanfront room. Clean no mosquitos or insects. No geckos in the room either. They can be noisy if on the inside. Excellent and friendly service by staff at the resort especially at breakfast. Good variety of breakfast items. I went for omelet, yoghurt and fruit. The pool is nice and you can swim laps. Tips If you want to the waterfall Klung Plu and don’t want to ride pickup taxi but Toyota minibus walk 150m on the beach to Mr T travel (right beside Mr T bar). It was excellent that the resort provided new bottles of drinking water every day. We had delicious lunch and dinners at the restaurant. Paddle a kayak was included. Did diving with BB-divers easy pick up by speedboat to dive center just a couple of minutes from the beach at the resort.
Spent a week in Cambodia before coming here, this is my second time in Koh Chang and 5th time in Thailand. The location is perfect. Quiet, sandy, within reach of everything but far enough away to not be impacted by everything. Unfortunately the hotel is far from perfect, but at a perfect hotel price. Our original room, a deluxe garden view, viewed nothing but the back of another room and had a constant roar from the complex’s AC system. We switched to a junior suite (at our cost) which was better. The rooms are not private, completely enclosed by glass so you have to keep the curtains closed at all times. There is no room service or phones in the rooms. I called to find our laundry and was asked to come pick it up at reception. Three people were sitting there, too lazy to deliver. The food is over priced and we had to return two dishes because they were inedible. The breakfast quickly ran out and you had people standing around waiting for fruit / bread / anything to come out. We quickly began paying extra for a decent breakfast next door. I asked for a scooter, they said no problem, when I went to pick it up the next day they were all sold out and told me to walk and find one (Bang Bao Pier - 25 mins away). The special bbq night had a traditional Thai Dance advertised, this was done by the l who served breakfast and lasted 2 minutes while her colleagues mocked her from the back. Ran out of toilet paper, tissues and towels. There were three of us for 11 days, they should have given us an abundance of towels and toilet paper. Having to walk to reception to get more was a pain. The coffee is awful. So bad, unnecessarily bad, every place down the beach has a proper machine. The staff was very friendly, I feel like the place is understaffed and trying to grab too much money. A few small tweaks and it would have been 5-Star.…
Chivapuri is located at the beach and consists of little 2-floor bungalows. There are different categories, we chose a a garden bungalow. We had a nice welcome after a long trip. The bungalows are spacious and clean. If you want, you can relax on your own terrace which has 2 relaxing chairs. The infinity pool is amazing, as it is located in front of the ocean. You can choose to relax at the beach or at the pool. The beach bar provides delicious juices and other drinks. Breakfast is varied with an egg station. Minor negative points: not a lot of mini markets where you can buy something. the restaurant of the hotel is rather expensive. But there is plenty of other restaurants who offer delicious food at better prices.
We have a very great time there last couple months in this very private beach resort we had a deluxe room . Nice room wonderful view with nice service. Good vibe and amazing crew at coco chacha lots of drinks. I will be there next season with my family watch out guys!!!!!!
Dear Noi, dear Tiger, we as a family with young kids are very thankfull for the wonderfull time (two weeks) you provided to us in your place with your lovely staff. The spot is amazing! Right at the the beach. Advantages: Lovely people, pool and ocean with nice beach, cool beach bar, calm, very natural, look for details, not the classic ressort for masses, near fishermen-village, ideal for families when ready to use small motorbikes. #1 in Koh Chang Best regards Sebastian
We had a wonderful stay with our 2 young children. The staff was very friendly, the room was clean and comfortable, and the property is in a secluded spot with lovely views. There is a break about 500 m or so offshore that keeps the waves on this section of beach calm and perfect for little ones to play in. Breakfast was cooked to order and on top of that there was a selection of items to augment the prepared food. Our family enjoyed our stay immensely and cannot wait to return!
