We had the pleasure of staying here to celebrate my wife's birthday. The owners, Marie & Christophe, and help from their son Mateo really made us feel like VIP/celebrity guests as they were so helpful and welcoming during our stay. The Finca is located away from bustling noise of Bocas and really feels like a slice of secluded paradise. The amenities were top notch and everything felt like I was at home and welcomed to use all the offerings. We stayed in the Mariposa room and would recommend it to anyone as it adjacent the restaurant/lounge nd pool area. Made hanging out and grabbing a drink super convenient. The photos online give a great representation of the location and amenities, being there in person really gives and immersive experience that takes everything to another level. It's just so beautiful, can't say it enough. Also, the food, THE FOOD. Marie prepares a daily menu offering from local ingredients they grow on the Finca and its amazing. Everything is made from scratch. They were some of the most amazing meals we have had in any of our travels and back home. Me and my wife joked how we couldn't wait to come back just for the food. I will recommend the Finca to anyone that is thinking of visiting Panma, and can't wait to come back myself. :)

We spent four nights here in January with our teenager daughters. The location is superb, quiet and very scenic. The bungalows (six of them, all different) are really well maintained and designed with much care to detail. The family who owns and runs the place is super welcoming, friendly, and forthcoming. You can spend the day on the property, by the pool, snorkelling, using the complementary kayaks or paddle boards, roaming their huge garden, or you can organise tours around the area. The delicious food is another real plus of this place, with set menus prepared for lunch and dinner. It was a real marvel we discovered here!

We (family with one 3 years old child) were in the Finca Vela Lodge for one week. It was unforgettable and our paradise. The Colibri Lodge was very nice. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were very good. We took the snorkel equipment, kayaks and stand up paddle which are included in the room price, all were very goog. The owners fulfill all our wishes. Thanks for this wunderful time!

Upon arrival to FV, while showing me my cabana, the owner told me to be careful to close the doors/windows at dusk and light the coils since the mosquitos were terrible. I told her not to worry, since as long as I was there, they would not bother anyone else since I'm mosquitos favorite flavor. However, she made no mention there were chiggers. After walking barefoot and sitting in the grass and playing with two of their young dogs who spend a lot of time on my porch, the next day, I was covered in chigger bites. I quit counting after 60. I come from Texas and live part time on a ranch and am relentless about warning my guests how to protect themselves from chiggers, since even one bite is horrible. I was miserable the rest of my trip. Since I was driving, I could not take Benadryl. Though the highlight of my trip was supposed to be fly fishing on the Panama Canal, I was so uncomfortable and had lost so much sleep, I didn't really enjoy it. Further, I noticed the husband owner had a deep cough. I thought it was just a smokers cough, but a few days later I started coming down with a bad cold. I never get sick, so am guessing his preparing the table and serving my meals and wine could have spread the germs. I generally write reviews about places I love, but this time it's to try to warn travelers in advance so they don't have the same miserable experience I did.

Hi sorry you didn't enjoy your stay at Finca Vela. We warn our customers of chitras because they attack in the evening and in the morning, but you only stayed the night with us, maybe you have been before in another place or on a beach ... you are right the owner has a smoker's cough ...

Amazing place to stay! On a beautiful island with so much biodiversity and the most eco-friendly place I have ever stayed in. Everything is thought of and your every need is catered to. The hosts are a really sweet family who are great to chat with but will also give you your space if you just want quiet. They also have two VERY sweet and cute dogs! The place is big giving you space to roam if you so wish and the food is delicious, all locally sourced. They also have snorkels and other activities available. Feels like you have the whole island to yourself and it is so peaceful you feel disconnected from the chaos of the world. Cannot recommend enough !!

The property is beautifully situated on a quiet bay just a short boat ride from Almarinte. Even before arrival the communication was fantastic to arrange a boat and ensure the menu would be perfect (which it was). Upon arrival we were greeted with coconuts and a tour of the property before relaxing into our room. Everything is so thoughtfully done it's impossible to capture it all. Fresh bouquets of flowers, fresh fruits, amazing homemade breakfast, lunch and suppers, friendly staff, amazing cocktails, and all the water toys you need. Kayaks, snorkels, SUPs and handcrafted traditional canoes not to mention the beautiful two story beach hut with was perfect for diving and snorkelling. We watched dolphins play in the bay while enjoying our coffee.
I can't say enough about our stay. Luxury relaxation is really the best way to describe your stay, everything is perfectly done with the perfect relaxing island vibe.
We took the opportunity to hire a boat to tour the archipelago, all of which was taken care of for us. The worst part is leaving.

Christoph and Marie are spectacular hosts who welcomed everyone with open arms, five star meals, local insights and a meticulously maintained property. We stayed in the Rana Verde lodge - it was like sleeping in a very clean, comfortable, well-appointed tree house. The coral reef at the end of the dock provided hours of snorkeling, paddle boarding and kayaking pleasure. Isla Pastores is a special place and the Finca Vela Lodge was the highlight of our trip.

Loved my stay at Fina Vela. Everything there is just spot on, with such attention to detail. Marie, Christophe and Matheo were excellent hosts. I had an early morning work call and they very kindly brought a breakfast picnic box to my bungalow to make sure I didn't miss breakfast whilst working - such kindness. Very peaceful beautiful surroundings, and essentially is a perfect place to unwind and relax. Would highly recommend going, and will definately be back again!

We (a family of 5) had a great time at Finca Vela, where we stayed 10 days. The place is absolutely gorgeous, as soon as we arrived we felt in paradise. Christophe, Marie and their team made each minute of our stay fantastic. Mindblowing views everywhere, comfortable , peaceful and very nice rooms with plenty of space and incredible views on the jungle and the sea, great meals and cocktails, and amazing experiences to discover the surroundings suggested and organized by Christophe (who also organized our venue from and to the aiport). Great memories for life !

The lodge itself has so much to offer, from well thought out & comfortable rooms, the fantastic views from the restaurant / bar, the refreshing pool, the beautiful gardens and not least the amazing jetty where you can snorkel, kayak & paddle board in the calm water. Marie’s cooking is second to none and we’re still dreaming about her lobster bisque.
Finca Vela Lodge has been our favourite accommodation in our travels so far and we would love to come back.
