We stayed here for one night after our connecting flight from Amsterdam was cancelled due to bad weather. The airline had arranged accommodation on a full board basis. Lunch was a very average buffet; we were refused a table for our evening meal in the restaurant by a very harrassed member of staff. We therefore were reduced to enjoying a decent quality bar snack; thanks to some courteous service from the hotel's barman, who was friendly, efficient and obliging. The bedroom and bathroom were budget style, nowhere near the standard or quality of Park Plaza hotel we have experienced in London. The group should consider re-branding this property under a different name. It detracts from the usual Park Plaza brand.

Couples city break! Would recommend for couples or a group of friends that are looking for a fun, educational and overall an amazing experience of the culture!
You can get the GVB transport ticket. It’s so cheap and you can use it on both trams and metro.. so helpful to get you around time if you’re tired of walking.
Me and my partner had to have it due to our hotel being outside of Amsterdam!! The hotel is based a 10 min walk from the Matterhorn tram station that takes you to the heart of Amsterdam!!

My husband and I stayed here for a few nights after booking through Last Minute Secret Rooms so was unsure where we staying til it was booked .
The hotel has a free shuttle bus that picks up from the airport every half hour and was on dot , likewise going back to airport. Both times different drivers and both very nice gents.
The hotel reception staff are all very friendly and helpful . The staff in the breakfast room where also very nice and helpful . Breakfast buffet was great for the price paid , variety of pretty much most things. All fresh and nicely presented .
The room we had was very nice , clean and very spacious. A nice comfy bed , hairdryer , Iron ,kettle , fridge , TV with British channels. Couldn’t ask for nicer.
The location is a bit way out of Centre of Amsterdam. About 10 mins walk to the tram then about 25 mins tram to Dam Square . So not major but not walking distance to town at all . The route you walk between hotel and tram is quite daunting if your alone and dark . I certainly wouldn’t walk it as alone female ! Even though we never seen any trouble it’s quite a lonely walk .
I would defo return to this hotel if I was visiting again and would recommend it , it’s clean , nice staff what more do you need .

Had a short stay whilst visiting Amsterdam. Very nice hotel and ideally located for my needs. The shuttle bus service they offer to and from Schiphol is a massive bonus and for journeys from the hotel you need a card with your room number on from reception.
The room was kept clean and tidy and for these kind of trips I just want somewhere to sleep that isn't too shabby and this was just perfect.
Even though it is located a fair bit out of Amsterdam, the city is extremely accessible from Schiphol Airport with an Amsterdam travel pass costing me €17 for the day.
If I was to visit Amsterdam again I would more than likely choose this hotel again.

This hotel was chosen because of the welness that was mentioned on the official website of the hotel. After the payment of the non- refundable rate, it became apparent that the wellness was "under construction".
The second quiet clean room was fine but the water saving shower head gave not enough hot water. The temperature in the room was 18.6 degrees celcius. The beds are rather hard.
Every half hour there is a free shuttle from and to the airport with a transfer time of 12 minutes that was punctual.
The first allocated room smelled of smoke, after a complaint a better room was given.
If you just need a quiet room and a shuttle, this hotel seems OK.

The good: The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and appreciated. From reception, to housekeeping, to the breakfast staff and the cooks. Seriously, it warmed the heart to have a smiling cook wave at us after breakfast.
The bad: if the reception staff hadn't advised us on keeping a card in the room "power on" slot, so that the A/C ran when we were out of the room, it would have been too hot. As it was, it was comfortable, I only put this is "Bad" so that others will be aware, because there are a lot of reviews complaining about temps.
The odd: Okay, because of the pandemic, the menu is reduced, the bar is closed and the place is pretty quiet. We had two nicely prepared burgers with perfect fries, and a second night, two very nice pizzas. Drinks came out of the "self-service" store, and, frankly, the store would have been able to provide us with light meals as well. So, we happily ordered from the small meals menu, and fetched our own drinks and snacks and had a wonderful time while sitting largely alone in the bar area. That's an odd experience. I hasten to add, the staff would swing past and check on us to see if we needed anything. Breakfast buffet was cancelled as well, obviously, but the produced a nice breakfast bun, with a bagged continental breakfast also on the tables. We both thought they'd done a wonderful job considering the circumstances.

Stayed at the Park Plaza for 10 nights. The hotel runs a shuttle bus to and from the airport it takes about 15mins each way the shuttle runs from the Hotel on the hour and half past the hour so arriving at the Airport around Quarter past and Quarter to the hour from Bus stop A9 at Schiphol! The Hotel itself is clean modern and nice and quite the staff are all very professional and polite and helped me greatly. Breakfast was ample and everything seemed fresh. One thing that does let the hotel down is the house keeping on arrival I had I small towel so i had to ask for a bath towel the next day after i got back to my room NO towels the bed was unmade no fresh tea or coffee ! This went on most of my stay, I must say every time I went to reception they sorted things out but was a bit frustrating but overall did not spoil my stay and would stay here again.

2nd time here. Great to see improved outside Area and new addition of games room. Need to stop being so tight and stingy aover coffee and tea bags sugar creamer etc. For in room tea/coffee facilities. Also one cleaner offered me a personal service which I didn't understand what it meant and said what do you mean? She replied everything you want. This was rude and I just shut the door on her.

Reasonable rates, convenient shuttle to/from the airport. Location is not near much of anything so shuttle or tram is required to reach any type restaurant or shopping. Overall the facility is nice, clean and room is quite nice.

A lovely clean hotel, very quiet in the evenings which we loved, so if you're looking to be in the thick of the nightlife, this might not be the hotel for you! Very conveniently situated about 10 mins from Schipol, with a very regular free shuttle bus, then everywhere is very easy to get to from Schipol. Room was clean and comfortable, delighted we had a little fridge, you can lock the door from the inside which also felt very safe. Staff were very helpful, as are any Dutch people we ever meet to be honest. Would be happy to use this hotel again.

The shuttle to the hotel is every 30 mins and trains from the airport into the centre are 10-15 minute. I don't know how often the trams are from near the hotel into the centre?
I would suggest going to the hotel and dropping your bags, your room might even be ready, then going back to the airport on the shuttle for the train into the centre. Like you mention, walking around Amsterdam with bags wont be fun.
What i would do while at the hotel is ask for the number and times of the trams back to the hotel in the evening, so you have the option for going directly back to the hotel.
The other alternative is to use Uber on the way back, no cash need and I have always found them quick and easy to use.
There are more places to choose from in the Lijnden area.
