Sakrisoy Rorbuer are a small familyrun business that sells accomodation. Most of our cabins are buildt on poles over the water in the mid 18th century. They are original fishermens cabins from the era when fishermen went fishing in open boats and needed somewhere to sleep and work. They are now restored to accomodate travellers and each contain a kitchen, a bathroom, a livingroom and bedrooms/beds for 2 to 6 persons. If you are looking for a somewhere to spend your vacation in a extraordinary surroundings then maybe our little fishingvillage are the place? Have a great experience! We stayed here for three nights during our tour of the Lofoten. The yellow wooden houses on the islet of Sakrisoy are nestled between the sea and the surrounding mountains and also offer breathtaking views from the private terrace where it is nice to sit, read, eat in the endless light of the Arctic summer. L 'furnishing is rustic, but cozy and functional and retains the' atmosphere typical of the old fishermen's houses. Check in takes place independently, they leave you an envelope with your name and keys in a box near the reception, but still we found the lights and music on to welcome us. We were there in the summer and enjoyed the beautiful and long days, but it would also be impressive to return in winter with snow. Really recommended.

WOW! This place was spectacular. The setting was GORGEOUS and serene, cozy and comfy. It was private, clean, and had a beautiful deck overlooking the water and Reinebringen! We mostly ate out but made our lunch in the kitchen and ate on the deck. Loved it. It is in walking distance to two really wonderful restaurants and an antique shop and a short drive ( a km or two) to park for the Reinebringen hike. If you are looking for quiet, comfort and gorgeous views this is the place!

This is a great place to stay. We stayed here for 2 nights in July with 2 children, 1 and 10 years old. Beautiful location right on the fjord. Rustic and comfortably furnished Rorbuer. I can only recommend it to anyone with a family. Distance to Reine about 2km.

First things first - the location is excellent and smack in the middle of one of the most beautiful parts of Norway. Apart from that the cabin was very cosy, but for the price we expected a bit more. The kitchen was well enough equipped, but we missed some small things that would have made our stay a tad more comfortable. Just simple things like salt and pepper and some vegetable oil for cooking would go a long way. Additionally we did not have wifi for the entire stay which was a huge bummer. We gave feedback on the issue twice, and someone apparently came and turned the router off and on again, but this did not fix the issue. A guess from my side is that the wifi signal was too weak to reach the cabin we were in. Unfortunately one of the most dissapointing stays for us in Lofoten, despite it also being one of the most pricy ones.

The location is amazing, as it is for every hotel and renting you can find in Norway… still the view is quite stunning and it feels like you are on a boat. Big drawback though : we did not see anyone at the reception, not during the 5 days we stayed here. We are lucky we did not need them because they were nowhere to be found. A bit odd for the price that you pay.

The staff was very friendly and welcoming, they gave us great tips about what to do during our 3 days stay - the best hikes depending on the weather and a very great boat tour allowing us to see orcas!
The rorbu (cabin) was comfortable and clean, nicely decorated, and had a great view. You will get everything you need there!
We also ate at the restaurant which was fantastic. We came 30min before the closing time (21h) as we were back from a beautiful (but exhausting hike). And although it was fully booked, they made sure to make us feel welcome and arranged a table for us. They really went out of their way and it was amazing - we had an amazing fish soup, a delicious catch of the day, and crème brulée. The wine was excellent as well (worth mentioning since you'll often get some cartoon box wine if you pick the "house wine" in Norway).
Amazing location as well with easy access and parking. Truly loved it and would go back for sure!

Depending on what you look for this place may, or may not, suit you taste. The overall picture is that it is close to the sea, surrounded by mountains and old, colorful buildings.
On the downside the standard of the buildings and interior is low, there is not much happening here, the road passes through and split the Island in two, there may be some noise from the fishing industry and you pay a heavy price for the stay. Not meny places to eat and so on.
I would consider Reine, rather than Sakrisøy, for another visit. Not much happening there either, but there is more to see. Sakrisøy can be visited by car anyway.

Recommended for more than one night stay. Full kitchenette, cozy decor and views facing the sea. Cabin size is big as compared to the previous few i was staying when i was in Lofoten. There is a restaurant opposite Sakrisoey Rorbuer which serves delicious fish soup and local delicacies.

We stayed here two nights. Our accomodation had an amazing sea view with bathroom, kitchen, dining table and sofa downstairs while the bed was upstairs. Even if the ceiling where we slept was very low, it was fine for us but not so comfortable. Clean ambience. Nobody help you to move luggage. Outside we had a private terrace, nice for breakfast. We have been lucky to have sunny days in Lofoten!

We arrived to Sakrisøy after a 3 hour ferry ride from Bodø in the picturesque Lofoten Islands. After reviewing every location, we decided upon the little island of Sakrisøy owned by Dagmar Gylseth in Reine Norway. Originally we had booked on Reine which was rated so highly by all review sources and we were so happy we chose Sakrisøy!
For almost half the price and minus the putrid fish smell that permeates everything in Reine, we had a perfect 8 day stay in a one bedroom Rorbuer (renovated fisherman's cabin) that was spacious and had all the amenities needed for a true escape from city life. Our cabin was perfectly cozy and romantic with views to die for! Now not direct views from our cabin - you could mostly view the sea without the striking mountains of Reine. It really didn't matter because as soon as you step out the door you are surrounded by panoramic views of bliss!
The highly rated Reine Rorbuers are 5 minutes away by car and 15-20 minute walk. We rented a car onsite from the lovely Dagmar for a few days and also rented a boat for a few days. Total cost car and boat was far less expensive than renting a car in Bodø very generously priced by yhe owner Dagmar. By the way you do not need a car - it's a luxury and only necessary if you to explore all of Lofoten (takes 3-4 hours to drive)
We drove all through the Lofoten Island chain and went fishing right off our pier in the sea surrounded by gorgeous fjords! Fishing Was spectacular- cod AND mackeral Galore - so Fresh SO DELICIOUS! Hiking here is a hiker 's paradise with some of the best hikes in the world and climbing in Lofoten.
We mostly cooked our catches in the cabin but did eat our first night in the restaurant at Sakrisoy. The food was traditional Norwegian and OUTSTANDING! You must try Baccalau dried fish stew that was delicious! The staff which consisted of Dagmar's husband, Mother and Cook were the best staff ever - so lovely and so eager to please. We celebrated my bday there and they went above and beyond to make it special! The mascot Theo (resident dog) was a nice welcome and so sweet.
Now Norway is expensive, don't kid yourself- it is a fact but worth every penny. Speaking of kids, Sakrisøy is kid friendly and has something to offer everyone! Families, couples, friends, foreign nationals, straight, gay whatever this is a place for everyone. It is a sojourn full of tactile luxury, nature abounds peace and quiet - a perfect get away! WiFi is available and good in the cabins but excellent in the restaurant. Cleaning is not done this is not a hotel- you are renting a cabin and it is a GREEN island so respect the land and don't be wasteful. This is a place to relax and relish NATURE in the Artic Circle. I love Sakrisøy and we will return! Stay here and you will be very happy experiencing Norwegian Bliss!

You would be better off with a rental car if you plan to spend a few days in the area, but I believe it is possible to get a taxi as well - but probably not cheap.
However, I suggest you call / e-mail the management at Sakrisøy Rorbuer for options as they are up-to-date with local offerings.
Hi!
Go for Sakrisoey Rorbuer (not Ottarbua). See my review and photos on Sakrisøy rorbuer and you will understand. Have been to Lofoten and Reine/Sakrisøy several times - the most beautiful place in my country!
