I am a big fan of InterContinental hotels and have stayed at least once at all of the other ones in Mexico and almost all of them in Central America as well. I was in Puebla for a weekend visit and wanted to try this one out as well. I am sad to say that this hotel seems to be completely overlooked by InterContinental's quality control people because it is a dump--at least the rooms, that is. The rooms have old, worn, and stained carpeting, and the bathroom was a nightmare. Gross, cracked sink with faucets from who knows when, bathtub with a curtain and similarly old, yucky-looking faucets. The bathroom door was all banged up, marked up and basically ruined. Paint chipped all over the place in the room. Ancient air conditioner (although it worked, thankfully!) No place to store towels so they just set them all on the sink. The only good thing about the room was that the bed was the typical InterContinental bed which was very comfortable, clean, and lovely. The hotel employees are very nice and courteous and the public areas of the hotel (except for the old elevators and long, yucky-looking hallways that need repainting) are decent. The hotel's social media focuses basically just on places that actually look decent and some of the rooms that maybe were renovated? But you will likely end up in a room straight out of the 1980's (or longer ago) and not in a good way. This hotel urgently needs remodeling or to be changed from an InterContinental to a Holiday Inn or something. Even though the prices are good--there's a reason why. Don't stay here expecting a "normal" InterContinental hotel experience. Sorry, to say it but hopefully the hotel will get the care it needs.…
I went here, back in December of 2021, to celebrate my birthday and boy did I get spoiled rotten because I got to eat local food and received plenty of fond memories and gifts as well. If you are an Ambassador or Royal Ambassador then you will be entitled to having your breakfast and your canapes (snacks) for free. The food was delicious both for breakfast and for canapes.
I had to be in Puebla for three weeks during the COVID19 pandemic, I was concerned about what that would be like but the staff at the Presidente Intercontinental Puebla had everything figured out. The facility was perfectly clean and organized in a way that I never knew there were other guests, service and food were great and the staff made everything possible to make the stay as good as it is under normal circumstances. I’m typically a Marriott person, I’m probably going to be switching to IHG.
This Hotel/Resort was amazing! Amenities, Personal service and the beautiful layout and format of the hotel was incredible. When I return to Puebla, this will be the only place I'll stay at. in conjunction with my IHG Rewards, I couldn't have wished for a better experience! Manuel Lopez (The Bellboy) was absolutely amazing as well. He spoke very good English, recommended wonderful local cuisine and was the epitome of a gentleman.
I have been in this hotel four times and in every stay it has been great. The whole staff is always taking care of guests. Especially Aime at the Club InterContinental, she is very nice with all guests and always looking after what you need. Additionally having a great conversation and recommendations about hotel amenities and places to visit. Overall a great experience, highly recommended!
On the good side: extremely helpful staff overall, with a shout-out to the concierge staff in particular who dealt with some unusual requests. Food average, no more, rather bland for Mexican. The rooms are run down - could do with new carpets and a coat of paint. No ATM in hotel and the front desk would not change money - had to go to a nearby hotel And it is in the middle of nowhere, not near the town centre with nothing to do in the area.
We spent a week at IHC for business then leisure. It was exceptionally great. Everyone focuses on helping you enjoy your visit. They provide every service with a smile and a kind word. Every morning we were welcomed with a smile and great service for breakfast. They go above and beyond in caring for our needs. The front desk staff found a night pharmacy and got me medicine when I needed it after hours. When I needed a repair to my suit the breakfast staff helped me get it fixed. The door staff made sure we had safe taxi's and lots of important information. There was nothing they overlooked or left to chance. It was clear they have been trained to do a great job, however they are also consummate professionals who have a lot of pride in their work. We had a hard time leaving so we would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel if you want to feel comfortable and at ease visit the IHC at Puebla. …
I chose this hotel because of good experiences at Presidente Intercontinental's around the world. This one was a big disappointment, though. I was in a first floor room that seemed to have not been used in a good while - the room smelled musty/moldy and the bathroom smelled as if the plumbing pipes were dried out (thus a foul, urine smell). Light switches were dirty and advertising materials had obviously been used over and over again. Both the towels and the robe were well-worn and frayed. That said, the bed and sheets were comfortable. Finally, when the front desk person asked how my stay was (checked out Sunday 7/28/19 in the morning) and I told him about the smell he actually rolled his eyes at me and muttered sarcastically "gracias por el comentario." The PIC in Puebla is making the brand look bad.…
After staying at about six different hotels in Puebla, I cN finally say the Presidente Intercontental is my favorite. It is calming, restful, and ready to provide all the help they can. The room was wonderful, we asked for a suite so we could host birthday parties, swimming parties, and have room for massages in our room. All of our special requste were handled with positive, supportive help from the staff. When we hosted breakfast our family of six adults and two young children, showed up with a young dog, the staff said "no problem" the made our table in a patio adjacent to the dining room, and providided excellent service. The "club level" provides breakfast in the main dining room at no cost, and a woderful, quiet room with refreshing drinks, food and alcohol in the afternoon. Just what we needed after hosting the family, and seeing the sites of Puebla. Presidente Intercontinental is an excellent choice when staying in Puebla.…
I have traveled to Puebla very frequently over the last five years for business and have stayed at many of the hotels in the area. The Intercontinental Presidente is by far the best in my opinion. The hotel is very beautiful, clean, and comfortable. The staff is always very welcoming and accommodating before, during and even after all of my stays. The hotel offers two fantastic restaurants that will never disappoint also the breakfast buffet is very stocked with gourmet and local foods ever day ! It is also important to note that the presidente is located within a short, safe walking distance of many high end restaurants on Juarez Av. The lobby bar lounge is amazing and well stocked. It’s also always staffed with very friendly, talented and welcoming people that I have always appreciated while being away from home for long periods. The hotel also offers a very beautiful courtyard with a pool and balcony rooms overlooking it for a relaxing evening. The facility offers a very equipped gym with modern equipment as well as a fantastic laundry service. I truly believe that if you need to stay in Puebla for business or pleasure this hotel will not disappoint !…
