The hotel has an undeniably unbeatable location. We literally had the Morelia cathedral in our room. The rooms have been made up with taste and care. We are in a heritage building and yet nothing of the contemporary comfort is missing. The staff is exemplary in courtesy and friendliness, especially Ugo. We would certainly have enjoyed our stay even more if they spoke a little more English. This will help communication between customers and staff. The breakfast which is included in the room rate is tasty and generous. Applause to the whole team!
The hotel is housed in what used to be a bank, and keeps a lot of the splendor of what it was, especially in the common spaces such as patio, lobby, stairways... Rooms are not up to what is considered modern comfort but offer a lot of nostalgia and romance
This is a beautiful hotel with a fabulous staff! From the stocked snacks, to the every day “delivered chocolates”, this is a fabulous hotel with staff that goes well above the standard. My ONLY negative is the rooms are dark!
The location is the best, right by the Cathedral! Staff is friendly and the food is great. Love the style in and out. A small suggestion would be to have a couple of menus aviation English. That would be helpful. Thank you. Loved my stay, and will come back some day.
We spent five nights in a superb suite directly facing the cathedral and have only praise for this boutique hotel. A top quality renovation of a 300 year old historic building -- tastefully decorated with vaults, safes and cheque printers as tribute to its prior incarnation as a bank. Moses, the reception manager, is a quiet-spoken and humble man who met every one of our service requests and arranged a city walking tour, and two day tours to Patzcuaro and the Monarch Butterly sanctuary. The restaurant at the front of the hotel opens onto the extremely lively sidewalk under the portales; great people watching. The staff there were friendly and efficient, and the included breakfast menu never missed during our stay. Our suite featured 15 foot high ceilings and tastefully meshed modern decor with historic stone. Noise from the street and cathedral bells was considerable, but the interior bedroom is insulated by the large living room and heavy wood shutters that close over the balcony French doors. Overall, this hotel was the best value surprise we encountered on our meandering trip through the Mexican central highlands.…
The hotel it's really beautiful, it's seems like an ancient hotel, but the estructure and the furniture it's really precious. I think the relation quality price it's okey, so I recommend a lot this Hotel.
Excellent Hotel. The location was perfect. Only 15 rooms (very private). Right in front of the Cathedral. Can't say enough about the staff. They were all wonderful. They helped us book private tours of the city and surrounding towns. Best place to stay in Morelia. We are looking forward to returning soon.
I've checked in and, when I came back they took my stuff out without my authorization. Money got missing and because I've complain they black glag me instead of trying to make up for there huge terrible service. Restaurant food is cold and it takes them forever to deliver your food. We all are at different times
Booked a junior suite. Centrally located, just off the main plaza, right across from the cathedral with two entrances, one directly to the lobby and the other through the restaurant. The hotel is in a very old and charming building. The suite is very large and busy with all different decors. There is no window facing the street only a few small interior ones which make the room rather dark and uninviting. The lighting is poor throughout. I will not return to this hotel since I prefer a room with an airy feel, uncluttered, cheerful and bright.
I've stayed two nights in this hotel. +: - just beautiful: a 17th century building, recently renovated, with a very nice decoration, a lot of paintings and scultpures - very spacious rooms: 70 sqm at least, with 5 meter ceilings - a lot of goodies (Piñeda Covalin bathroom utensils, Nespresso machine, super nice pens, slippers) - perfect location: right in the center of Morelia, 50m away from the cathedral - quiet (at least my room) - checkout at 1pm -: -no natural light in my room, no window -staff forgot to mention that I had to pay for the parking, I found out during the check out -on the first day, I asked a staff member if they had a rooftop and he said no. On my last day, I pressed the wrong button on the elevator and found out they did have a terrace with an amazing view on the cathedral... - when arriving at breakfast, the staff told me it was not included. I had a doubt and checked my reservation which was mentioning that it was indeed included; I had to put the booking under their nose for them to believe me. Still, at the end the waiter asked me to sign a receipt and heavily insisted that the tip was not included... - supposedly, my booking included a "free drink". No one proposed it to me and when I pointed that out at the check out, there was no reaction from the staff member. - wifi was not working well from my room - quite expensive: you can find a nice room in a Best Western or equivalent for 1/3 of the price…
