The hotel is a converted family home located just a few blocks from the historic centro area. The hotel is great for the price. Our rooms were comfortable but very small with an even tinier bathroom. It was February so it was freezing and while there are covered areas in the inner courtyard to sit outside your rooms, it was... More

Casa Limonchelo is in the heart of downtown Morelia walking distance from intereting churches, plazas and restaurants. Casa Limonchelo is very homie the architecture is beautiful need a little TLC and cleaniless but the owners are very friendly and attentive to all their guests. Their prices are very reasonable. Make sure to reserved with your continental breakfast is just a... More

Casa limoncello has been fabulous! Anyone can stay at Holiday inn, this is a local historical landmark, on the main street, leading to the central plaza. It is walki.g distance to everything you need to see downtown. Breakfast is amazing and the archtecture is fantastic. The family that runs the place, I have known for years. Full disclosure, I used... More

Great location, great hosts --I felt like part of the family staying here. Raul and Suzanna take great pride in helping you to feel safe and at home always. For me, this included cooking delicious vegetarian meals! I loved the amount of laughter present here. And their two kids are so nice, and polite, and entertaining:)

Great location, near to sights but away from evening noise, extremely quiet. We stayed in the double room with private bath at the back - very comfortable. Best of all the owner and his family were absolutely charming and very helpful. The owner connected us with a nice couple who offer tours and so we were able to do day... More

My trip to Morelia was planned at first only to find the Monarch wintering habitat in the Sierras. I found at the same time a beautiful colonial city and a small owner-run B&B that was clean, convenient and safe. Plus the B&B has ample hot shower water - not always found in small hotels in Mexico. The entrance was a... More

Great place to stay. In the middle of the town. You can see all the small details in Raul's B&B, he restored all by himself, came all along from his journey throw the world. I had the best time in Morelia with Raul which gave me also through his backround as architect a lot of insides along. I really recommand... More

People say Morelia is a European-style city plopped down in the middle of Mexico (as if that were a bad thing!). I would describe Casa Limonchelo as a straight-forward European-style hotel plopped down in the middle of Morelia. There are just a handful of rooms that open onto two adjoining open courtyards (most share a bath--the owners chose to preserve... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hi, my name is Raul Duarte, architect and owner of Casa Limonchelo. My wife and I have made a cozy bed and breakfast out of a what some have called a "palace!" We are very proud to have purchased and renovated this treasure that doubles as our family's home. It is so rewarding to host people from all over the world! We have now hosted guests from England, Italy, Spain Colombia, Greece, Canada, United States, Bugaria, and of course, Mexico:) My two young sons also very much enjoy this process! We love helping our guests feel at home! We are open 24 hours a day and serve homemade breakfast and can help you arrange tours of such interesting sights as mariposa trees filled with millions of wintering monarch butterflies, ancient pyramids, and interesting cities like Patzcuaro, Uruapan, and others. Casa Limonchelo is situated in an incredible location, right in the "El Centro" (The Center of town). At the same time, the house is very quiet. One of its best features is the incredible open air courtyard spaces where sunshine and plants and flowers abound. Our home is of Spanish neoclassical architecture and is over 300 years old. We hope you will love it as much as we do! ... more   less
