Detailed Reviews
This is a 3 star rated hotel and I think that’s about right. When you visit the spectacular Faroe Islands you need to realise you will not find your large brand name shopping malls restaurants and hotels you see everywhere else. So what you get with this hotel is a steady Eddie place to rest with a great restaurant on site. If you get a 3rd or 4th floor room facing the harbour, you get great views. The bed is large and comfortable, soft and spongy. The Room is a good size and has a fridge. The bathroom is very basic, functional but basic. The tv has only 10 channels, all local and none English speaking.
This isn’t a traditional hotel. If you are here for a few days and need a base to explore, this could be it. But it has no facilities if you are staying longer and want to spend more time in the hotel.
I enjoyed my short stay. Would have no issues returning.

A good facility for a week's stay.
The location is great - we used it as a base to travel between the islands of Vagar, Eysturoy, Streymoy, Vidoy, Bordoy and Kalsoy - the furthest points we visited (Gásadalur and Viðareiði) were about an hour's drive away, so excellent logistics base.
Runavík is an excellent place to stay, because in the surroundings of the hotel there are all the main services: cafes, petrol stations, bakery with excellent products, bank with ATM, supermarkets, and 500 meters also the underwater tunnel that connects in Torshavn.
Room quite spacious and clean.
Private parking available in front of the entrance.
Very friendly and welcoming staff.
Internal restaurant, with the possibility of booking a table for lunch or dinner.
The gap is in the services: the hotel is very comfortable, but quite basic: cleaning every other day, shower cubicle with dividing curtain, tiny sink, soap in the shower finished and not replaced without our notice, the lift temporarily out of use.
Breakfast was basic, despite being included in the price from the third day we started skipping it and having it outside, at bakeries and cafes we found on the street, all excellent!
Price not low, but in line with the place.
Overall, we had a great time and would go back.

My husband and I spent one night at the Hotel Runavik, and it was a good stay for one night. The room was basic but clean and the TV was good. When we arrived there was nobody at the front desk, but our key was left on the counter in an envelope with our name. Breakfast had several choices and everything tasted good.

+1
The hotel is recognizable from far.
Except for that, the parking area is not large for all guests (of course this can be so only on my visit time), everything was fabulous.
When check-out, I could have a small talk with the receptionist about Faroe islands' culture, politics, language... She kindly told me many things.
And I am still grateful for giving me a suite room which has a good harbor view.
Breakfast and facilities were great!

The rooms on the fourth floor are not great. My room had no night stand and therefore no light near the bed. The only light was the ceiling light or a desk lamp. There is no room to put clothing. You basically have to live out of your suitcase. If there are two people in the room it is very tight.
Bathroom is tiny with only a fabric shower curtain. Drain is on the floor. No hooks to hang up towels.
Spend three nights and never received fresh towels.
Elevator was out of service upon arrival.
Dinner at the restaurant was excellent.
However, we were unable to eat at the restaurant one night because of a private party. This should have been communicated beforehand so that we could have made other dining arrangements.
Breakfast was just ok. Not many choices and eggs were usually almost cold.
Staff was very friendly.
Would not stay here again.

Clean and good and centrally located. A hotel I visit a few times every year. Close to Fuglafjørður and Torshavn. Also shopping opportunities and close to different kinds of shops. The breakfast is very sparse.
If you're lucky, you'll get a parking space right in front of the hotel.

The rooms are clean but not very spacious as are the bathrooms. The view through the large windows towards the harbor is nice, however the isolation is not what you expect along the main road of the city.
Breakfast was acceptable as had been the dinner the night before: OK, but certainly not outstanding and the service staff's different dresses and many tattoos all over the bodies takes a lot of getting used to.

nice Hotel with new refurbished bedrooms, at least the rooms on the ground floor. (where I stayed) Dont know about the other rooms.
What I did not like at all was the smell in the public areas of the Hotel coming from the kitchen.
Other then that, the lady at the reception was very nice and helpful.
Due to lack of other Hotels, it is definately over priced

We were there for one night. Although it is a bit odd that the reception is upstairs, the rooms are nice, big, got a good selection of TV channels and a good view.
A minor downsize is the lack of minibar and the bathroom could maybe need a bit of an update.
