The accommodation is well presented and clean. We had a dog friendly caravan and was pleasantly surprised how nice it was compaired with others we have stayed in with other companies. The entertainment is is good as are the facilities. My one disappoint was the Sunday carvery' the food was luke warm and somethings were not presented very well at all, the parsnips were all stuck together in a mush and the gravey was lumpy some of the veg was cold ( mashed swede and cabbage). As it is £14.75 pp I .ike a lot of others eating would expect better. This is our 4th stay here so not new to the site.
The drive over the top is breath taking seeing the sea as you come past the Ladram Bay park sign and driving down to the main gate. Absolutely perfect location, brilliant friendly staff and absolutely great for value! The photos and views you can get from right in your van or lodge is insane. Even more so from the private beach only a minute or so walk away! By far the best holiday park I have been to and will continue to visit and hopefully my family to come also. Absolutely amazing. A+++
We stayed on site in our campervan, we were part of the scooter rally. When we rang to book the lady on the phone was so friendly and cheerful. The pitches were very well kept and the facilities were spotless and very warm! When we walking around the staff we encountered were really friendly, the bar staff were really efficient and smiley and the drinks good value (cheaper than my local!) we have two little dogs and the walks were great along the coastal path. The beach is down a bit of a slope, pebbles but the scenery is worth the visit alone. I would defiantly return and would recommend.
Very nice caravan with all the stuff we needed. We ate in the on site restaurant a couple of times. Warned how long the food might take to arrive but pleased to say we didn't wait nowhere near the time given.
We stayed here due the time of year and on site facility’s available, however after stumping up for a fully serviced pitch (which was clean and tidy) however this does not come at all cheap there was an extra fee to take our dogs with us which are excluded from the entire beach and all the main facility’s on site so for this extra charge all that is provided is a field to walk your dog in that isn’t even shown on the site map that you are given. When booking we added to the booking form we were travelling with friends and would like to be sited alongside them we were swiftly contacted asked to pay £20 a unit on top for this, after we decided to to we received multiple calls asking if we would like to pay extra for this service !! Needless to say we didn’t pay and were sited apart even though half the pitches on site were empty for the 4 nights we stayed. Wi-Fi was an extra £10 per night, the pool an extra £5 per hour per person apparently this is a discounted rate, maybe Ladrum bay could save some money and help the environment by dropping the temperature in the toilet block rather than running it flat out with all the windows open 24/7 !! The footpath down to the main facility’s was extremely steep from our pitch R122. To top it all, after paying over the odds for your stay you have to be off your pitch by 9:30 on the last day of your stay. Safe to say we will not be staying here again, or recommending this site to any of our friends.…
Whilst the location with the beach is great this is not the place for us. We were put on site 102 with a caravan, next to the steep hill road. Constant load noise of maintenance vehicles (why use noisy John Deere type Gator utility vehicles). The maintenance yard is at the top so large forklifts, tractors and utility vehicles were constantly up and down. It’s time for all electric vehicles - for the smaller ones around the site at least. We could also not understand why they put people right next to the road when there were plenty of other sites further away from the constant noise - planning should better! If we were not visiting family locally nearby and out most of the time we would have insisted we were moved. The facility block had the following in this area: Although we had a “fully serviced pitch” - this does not included toilet water. The Chemical disposal at the block meant you had to go up 2 steep sections to it with heavy tank - great if you are sited above or on same level. They should be on the lowest level in each section. Only 2 outside washing up areas In the gents 6 showers (great size and floor heating) but wonder in the high season if enough. In the gents 6 cubicles and urinals only. NO rubbish bins! You had to walk to the car park much lower down for the rubbish and recycling area - this then meant they used many vehicles to remove to the top maintenance area! Note: each campsite area had its own block but a large number of pitches for each. Serviced pitches had a tap and drain for waste water (grey only) Caravans had to always face into the service road so no forward views on 50% of the area we were. Some motorhomes we noted had the sense to ignore this as they could be driven out easily anyway, On arrival you stop at the bottom and unhitch your caravan. They then position you on site with a tractor. Due to very steep hill and corners this is good and would not be possible for many otherwise. As someone else has said "if you like Butlins this is the place for you" This would be very true in high season, but fortunately for us we were off peak beginning of October with a very good price (£12 + £3 for dog a night on a “fully” serviced pitch.) Coming from Sidmouth and walking playing around these cliffs in the 1960's the site has become enormous and not the ideal spot I remember. Ladram Bay owns all the land with nowhere for locals to park and use the beach. The original coast path looks like it has fallen into the sea and you have to walk through the caravan site to continue along it. The only reason we will return here is to see our family in the next village. It is not a place we would choose for a holiday.…
We visited as a family in October 2022. This is the first time we have been here and we was not disappointed! Couldn’t recommend this place for a caravan holiday enough. The views are beautiful, and the beach is on your doorstep. What a beach it is too ! Private section of beach for the site, you can hire boats if you wish. There is a little cafe there also which sells very nice ice cream. Pebbles restaurant is nice, a bit expensive but food is good. Clubhouse was good fun and entertainment was very good for both kids and adults. There is an on-site shop, with local produce at a reasonable price, the sausages were some of the best we have had. The fish and chip shop on the site was again some of the best we have had, again at a reasonable price and very large portions. Crazy golf was fairly basic but for the price was good family fun. Pool was clean and lots of in pool activities to do. Once of the more expensive sites but defiantly worth the extra money. Will be returning next year, 10/10 to all aspects.…
Very clean park. Didn't use restaurant or club house. Drinks a bit steep and bottom bar not open in the day so bit of a trek up steps to top bar. Apparently there is a lift but couldnt find it!. It's quite hilly in certain parts but to compensate for that the view from our caravan was stunning. I find that they don't cater for the disabled a lot. Only one parking space near entrance to entertainment and main car park quite a walk away. Quite a lot of Motorhomes on upper level all pitched in perfect order. Bit of a walk to village and bus stop. Used this camp as a base for exploring Devon
If you like Butlins, this is the place for you! AWFUL! We arrived to a massive queue checking in. The man checking us in barked “turn around, take the first right and your pitch is second on the right” NEXT! It was like a carousel! We parked on our pitch and to see the “view” was of the back of a red brick building with chimney/air con piping and could only just see the sea. The noise from the tractor racing up and down the hill with caravans “chucking” them into their pitches was ridiculous. There were no signs of a nice relaxing camp site by the sea - the vibe was awful - it was literally Butlins! So we decided we’d rather drive the 4.5 hours home to sleep in our own quiet home where we would feel safer and more relaxed, than. Stay a minute longer in this lorry park/ferry port. No thanks and never again!…
On our recent holiday at Ladram Bay. We went Friday to Monday we decided on fish and chips on Saturday as a treat and let me just say what an amazing treat it was, could not fault a thing 3 fish and chips. Peas and curry sauce brilliant. On a personal note and my opinion it has to be the best Fish supper I've ever had. I made a point of going in and thanking the chef TOM you are a superb fryer and all the staff are a credit. Friendly, polite very helpful. And I hope they realise what a catch 🤣🐟 they have in you. Thank you for a fantastic time.
