We the Ferguson's, owners of Macaroni Hill View Hotel, entered into an Industry we knew nothing about, some eight years ago, the challenging tourism industry. It was a learning experience! We had our good times and bad times. We renovated our family home into a 12 room hotel. That, by itself, was a challenge because of the amount of costly expenses it comes with. There were some days we felt like giving up, it was hard to satisfy the customer, but, the customer is always right. In these days of technology, we are exposed to the worldwide web so nothing is a secret anymore. We took our criticism on the booking sites and TripAdvisor, which we appreciate. It only made us become better! As a family, our hospitality is rated amongst the best! We made many friendships from this venture both at home and abroad and there must be something that we are doing good because we have several repeats. We have improved all the rooms significantly; with little glitches that will be overcome with time.

This place is at a great central location in Belize. It's close to Hopkins beach, an hour from Placencia, and not much further from Mayan ruins. There's also great experiences very close by like zip lining, horseback riding, ATV riding, snorkeling, etc. The rooms are well equipped with cable TV, WIFI, AC, fridge, etc. The restaurant/bar has a good atmosphere and the food is great (best refried beans I've ever had). Also, the staff is very knowledgeable regarding things to do in Belize and are quite accommodating. If you need anything at all, or have any concerns, then mention it to them and they will help you out. They're really great people. I would stay here again.

I stayed here 4 years ago and couldn't wait to come back and see the country and the Ferguson's at macaroni hill view. I was not disappointed. The same amazing view from the roof top bar and the hotel has been updated. so has their shuttling service for tours. The location is still great for going anywhere in Belize. But now they'll take you in a van with WiFi and charging ports. And the service from the family is still top notch. I will be back again!

Let's start with the positives. Macaroni Hill is a convenient stop on the way from Belize beaches to the innerland (caves, tubing, Mayan ruins and jungles). The owners, Ferguson brothers, are nice and tried their best to help out (drove us to a local restaurant as theirs was closed, provided local tips and insights, did laundry, etc ). However I can't agree with the 5 star rating of previews reviews. The rooms are small (too small for a family), the hotel is in shabby conditions (loose electric wirings and switches, malfunctioning bathroom taps, etc) and our laundry was hanged up all over the place to dry (on the common area sofa, armchair, door hinges, which was quite embarrassing as others customers were also staying at the hotel). All in all an ok stopover if you have little pretensions and as there is not much else around. But avoid if you can do the drive in one day.

Great hospitality. Excellent room. Food was exceptional. Great family owned business. We arrived late however the owner waited for us an even provided supper even though it was past 8pm. The following day we visited bukadeer waterfalls that is 15min driver from the hotel. My family an I will make this hotel our first stop when going south of Belize.
