Viceroy Los Cabos receives high marks for its attentive service and vibrant atmosphere, enhanced by live music and tasteful decor. While some guests have had issues with AC and maintenance, the spacious and modern rooms with stunning ocean views generally impress.
The hotel's cleanliness is consistently praised, and its prime location offers easy access to local culture and sights. Although opinions on value vary, with some deeming the food and drinks costly, the range of luxurious amenities, including the spa and beach setup, often justifies the expense for many travelers.

Hotel's Favorite
Just had an awesome experience at the Viceroy in Cabo! Went with 3 girlfriends for four nights. We booked a 2 room suite. I’ll start by saying that it is actually a beautiful resort. So many photo opportunities for those who care, but beautiful to look at regardless. At first, it was a little daunting seeing all the up and down paths, but it took no time at all to get the lay of the land. It is very contemporary but warm at the same time because the Viceroy lighting game is on point. Attention to detail is beyond! The spa and gym were very impressive, the food/restaurants were great and the service was impeccable! Want to give a shout out to Octavio, Heidi, Mario and, our favorite Choo Choo! They all went out of their way to not only make us feel welcome and special but to make us feel like queens! Best attitudes and willing to go the extra mile to make you happy! The only negatives that are worth mentioning are that the beds are way too firm and that there is too much light coming through the shades in the morning…. Overall, was very pleased with the value, location, amenities and service! Would definitely go back again!

My stay at the Viceroy was beyond AMAZING. The trip was business and pleasure. As a Travel professional I was visiting Los Cabos resorts to provide a better perspective for my clients. Viceroy exceeded all my expectations. The Staff were so friendly and accommodating prior to us even arriving. We were picked up in a Tesla, which was waiting for us at the airport. The resort was very clean and they maintained standards for Covid-19. We were taken on a tour of the resort and the amenities exceeded all of our expectations. These accommodations will be great for our clients and with the safety and cleaning measures which makes traveling during Civil less stressful. The pools were gorgeous, and the pictures of the resort do not do them justice. The Viceroy is a must stay and experience. We did not get to experience the Art Gallery which will be opening the week after we left, but our tour confirmed it will be an added bonus.
They have many packages to choose from when celebrating. I had the birthday package which included in and dessert in the room. Also, they have great restaurants on site which have unique and delicious items to choose from. Viceroy is a must when visiting Los Cabos.

Had an amazing stay at the Viceroy Los Cabos during Covid times. I was greeted at the airport by one of the representatives who took my luggage to the Tesla waiting for me.
Pulling up to the hotel, the architecture is breathtaking. So much to explore and so much thought was placed into this entire resort!
After a smooth trip to the hotel, the friendly front desk staff took my bags and knew my name as I walked in. I had an attendant show me my room and I went down to the beach and poolside every day because the staff there was also amazing! The two pools were relaxing and refreshing.
Vanessa who was over the spa has a spectacular staff! Shout out to Angel and Rufina who took good care of me and Maya who has magic hands! The mineral pools, sauna, thermal chairs and relaxation room were amazing!
Restaurants: Guadelupe who is one of the managers was so kind to escort me to the Japanese restaurant from the upstairs one. The Japanese restaurant had some of the best fusions with Mexican flair! Kisses to the chef! The food was amazing and Giovanni and Marcus were amazing hosts. Drinks at the downstairs bar were great, the mixologist there can make just about everything! The drinks upstairs poured by Angel were amazing too! Breakfast, the staff were impeccable and the food was great! Room service was prompt and outstanding as well. At the press of a button, you can signal the staff to remove the plates. Very impressive.
The trip back, I was whisked away in the Tesla as the staff bid me goodbye. The attendant at the airport took my bags and ensured that I hit every checkpoint before waving me goodbye.
Safety: The staff all had on masks, there were masks, hand sanitizers and social distancing throughout the resort. Chairs and tables were placed well, along with the lounge beds around the pool. Not many people were in the pool at one given time, which was good. The hotel was also not at capacity. They have Covid testing available at the hotel for those who are leaving and need the test. The housekeeping staff change the entire bed, pillow cases, sheets and duvet. Staff kept everything clean and I felt very safe with everything.
Finally, a shout out to Martín, the GM. You have an amazing staff throughout your resort. Thank you so much for showing me a great time and your kindness, humor and thoughtfulness touched my heart. Thank you again and I will be back!

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Viceroy for 3 nights in Jan for a quick birthday weekend. We decided to upgrade to an ocean view junior suite. The room we were given was beautiful, it had it's own hot tub on the balcony, a nice view, and the most beautiful and spacious bathroom. The bathroom had a walk-in closet, separate toilet room, huge double sink and a vanity area to get ready. I was in heaven. Until we spent our first night there and heard our neighbors above us all night long. We could hear them moving chairs around, running the hot tub, walking around, etc. By the third day, we couldn't take it any longer and had to change rooms. The staff was super nice and helpful but it was really annoying to have to pack up and move to a new room on our last night there. We were given a junior suite in another building and were told they would block the room above us. We ended up getting a good night's sleep but the room we moved to wasn't nearly as great as our original room. The bathroom was TINY, no area to get ready, the closets were small and you couldn't hang a long dress, no plunge pool, etc.
Another issue we had in both rooms was that the tv's did not work. Both suites had two large screen tv's but they were on some sort of satellite system that was having major issues. They would either not work at all, turn off randomly, etc. While I certainly don't go to Mexico to watch tv, when we were having noise issues with our upstairs neighbors it would have been nice to turn on the tv and try to drown out the noise. Plus, what is the point of offering all this technology in the room if it doesn't work?
Other than our sleep issues, we did like this hotel. The location is great, the staff were wonderful, and the food was delicious. We really enjoyed riding the bikes provided by the hotel, we rode them into town a few times which was fun. We had breakfast included in our room rate and the breakfast was great, fresh juice, good coffee and nice entrees.
Would I stay at this hotel again? No. But I also realize that our sleep issues were caused by random guests that the hotel could not control. That being said, the rooms definitely need some sound proofing and the tv's/technology need to be fixed.

I am very lucky and frequent a lot of high-end hotels. I also am not very picky and love the changes the different locales bring. Unfortunately the management decisions at the Viceroy seriously offset the great service on the beaches and in the restaurants. There are lots of great restaurants across the street in the area. You can cut your food bill in half or less by walking across the street. The food also improves in quality. Heading downtown to where the old churches dropped your food and entertainment cost by 75%. I wanted a couple of bottles of wine for the room for the week and the only thing on the menu was by the glass. They brought me up a list from the restaurant and the least expensive thing I think was $250 US. I don’t mind that at dinner but for a casual sit around look at the beach wine that’s ridiculous Bottom line if you stay here and get out quickly to enjoy yourself. The most disturbing thing was that Management likes to hold late night parties. If you plan on coming to sleep before midnight count on a few nights that not happening no matter where you are in the resort but especially if your room is anywhere near the bars or the top side restaurant. We were traveling with people that were closer to the beach and they said it wasn’t much better there. But I don’t think they understood how dramatically loud it was where we were. Even with the TV set on 50% volume you could not hear it over the loud music in the room. When we complained the first night they would not move us. When we complain again there are no offers of accommodations. Just an additional FYI
The water was red flag don’t swim every day and is very cold in February. I would say if management we’re more accommodating and the prices were more reasonable this would be a beautiful place to stay.

Our family came to the Viceroy for the new year celebration. This place is just perfect: the setting, the architecture, the furniture, the pools- all is just perfect. Food is quite delicious, but on the expensive side, once they add the service charge and tax (combined is a 30% markup from what the menu says). The spa experience was rather amazing. Once you get out to the beach, you can walk miles and miles in either direction and see the most amazing sunsets (and sunrises, if you are up that early). The view from the balconies is just amazing; so you may not even want to leave the hotel. Yet, we ventured out and highly recommend the various scuba and snorkeling you can arrange through the concierge service.
In our case, what really brought up the experience to a new high was Chu Chu, our server in the highest pool, by Nido. He was attentive, as sweet as he could be, especially towards our daughter (truly spoiled her), and by the second day of our stay, he could predict all our needs, from our favorite lounge chairs were to camp out by the pool, to our favorite drinks. Chu Chu is a treasure in the hotel staff!

I would like to start by saying, this was the first vacation that we've been on where we've became emotional at the time of departure. This property has it all figured out. My husband and I were picked up from the airport in a Tesla with the hotel label on it, making it super easy to find (along with the gentleman holding the Viceroy sign). From the time we were picked up until the time we left we were treated beautifully. When we entered the hotel lobby we were greeted with fresh cool hand towels, along with a signature cool drink. The signature smell in the entire hotel is absolutely heavenly. We were escorted to our room by a member of the staff who showed us how to work everything in the room and he also made sure our luggage was delivered promptly. EXTRAS : My husband and I received the love surrender couples massage, and it was absolutely amazing. From the pool amenities inside of the spa before hand to the time of the actual massages we were absolutely catered to. We also did the four course private cabana dinner and this is when we met Chu Chu (Jesus). I have to tell you from the time we met him we made sure that anytime we were in need of a waiter or service, we found him, he took extreme care of us. We became family instantly. He was so enthusiastic about his job and he honestly is the reason that we will return. He is so full of life and leaves such a great feeling in your heart. From poolside drinks and snacks to the cabana dinner , we were so blessed to have met him. Before we left we wanted to grab some tacos (the carne tacos we soo good), but because the kitchen had not switched over from breakfast yet, moments before we said our farewells to Chu chu and he knew we wanted some tacos before we left. Once he saw us sitting with out Tacos, he immediately came over to ask why we didn't have them, safe to say before we left... he got us those tacos lol. All in all again, this place has it figured out. In room tv provider was a bit dated, but we still loved it. The woman at the concierge desk made all of our activities happen and we also enjoyed cruising into the sunset on the jazz and wine cruise. We loved seeing the historic Arch of Cabo San Lucas. We love you Chu Chu Many Blessings and hugs... Until we met again <3

This was simply THE perfect hotel experience. From the moment I arrived, every team member welcomed me with kind eyes (all were safely wearing masks) and welcomed me “home”, which they absolutely made it feel like.
The smallest details were always covered - from the electric shades on the beautiful guest room balcony, to the heavenly scented bath salts left for you to relax in the tub. It’s hard to take your eyes off of the perfectly pristine water, beaches and infinity pools surrounding you, but when you do, you find even more moments of surprise and delight.
This was a brief, solo getaway for me, but even in the short time, the hotel staff members addressed me by name, asked how I was, and gave amazing recommendations on other things to see and do. There is such a genuine level of care and professionalism from everyone there - you can tell that they love what they do and they want to share all of the wonderful things about where they are.
The pools, the spa and Cielomar restaurant are not to be missed! The tranquility of the infinity pools and the comfy lounge chairs is unmatched and the spa is AMAZING! It goes on and on and the services are truly spectacular. Cielomar restaurant had incredible views and food, but also had an awesome two piece band playing during dinner which set the perfect atmosphere.
I really wish I could remember everyone’s name, but definitely want to give a shout out to David and his team at the front desk and concierge, to Rolando at the poolside bar, to Vanessa and Rosa in the spa, to Luis on the sales team and to every other team member who made this stay perfect. I can’t wait to return!
Thank you!

Our stay, during COVID, was magical, relaxing and safe at all once. The staff took great care- taking temperatures, supplying hand sanitizer and wearing masks throughout the stay. Everything was safely spaced but there was no sacrifice of luxury and attentiveness.
Ask for Silvia at the Spa! I needed some more intense deep tissue work after months of too much sitting at home for work, and she made me feel transformed coming out of bodywork with her.
Can't wait to go back and recommend highly.

I am a black woman, late 20s who booked a last minute solo trip to Cabo for my birthday. The property is stunning. I had a king bed with an ocean view (4th floor main building). However, there were a few hiccups during my stay.
1. Valet didn’t attach my guest information to my rental car, so they had to verify that it was actually my rental with the front desk. It caused a 10 minute delay, because the front desk was checking another guest in. My verbal confirmation wasn’t enough apparently. I was asked “Are you sure?” when I told valet the make and model of my rental. Pretty annoying, I understand them having to verify but it shouldn’t have happened to begin with. 2. After returning to the hotel after an evening stroll. The employee/greeter at the front asked “Can I help you?” I said I’m going to my room. I don’t think he heard me (face mask) because he asked the question again and I replied “I’m a guest here.” His tone was insinuating that I didn’t belong. He then asked for my room number. I told him room 1014, rolled my eyes and went up to my room. I didn’t appreciate that encounter. What, a young black woman can’t afford to stay at a luxury hotel? If the hotel is worried about stragglers then they should implement a solution where they can clearly identify guests. For example, they can clearly communicate that guests are required to show their room key upon re-entry, instead of making their guests feel unwelcome. Nonetheless, the room was comfortable. Although there was a crack in the bathroom floor. The TV was useless, I wasn’t able to mirror my phone to watch streaming services. The remote was difficult to use due to it being consistently unresponsive. The food was just okay, overpriced IMO (room service & rooftop restaurant). The hotel did send a complementary chocolate ganache cake to my room with the words “¡Feliz Cumpleaños!” which was nice gesture.
The architecture and room views are gorgeous, the best part of my stay. Again, I didn’t appreciate the few hiccups during my trip. I expect exemplary “friction free” service from a “5 star hotel.”

The entire outdoor space is covered in a shallow amount of water outdoors. I would opt for the ocean view - high level - but honestly, I did not see a view from any window that wouldn't be amazing! They're all facing the ocean.
Construction seemed to be finished. I did not see any renovations being done during my stay.
