I visited a restaurant at this hotel on 1/23/‘21 with a friend and we had the absolute worst dining experience ever! The service delivered at their rooftop restaurant, Cielomar, was equivalent to what you’d receive at a low end (fast food) chain. The waiter barely acknowledged the fact that we were even there after taking our order and that should not have been an issue considering the fact that there were hardly any customers. The waiter did not check on our table at all during the course of our meal and only returned in the end to bring the check (which we initially had to ask another staff member to bring). We did however notice that the few customers they did have (all of which were non POC by the way) received what appeared to be “stellar” service. During the span of an hour, multiple waiters were at several of the tables within our vicinity making sure the guests were completely comfortable and providing them with various menu options and just constantly checking in and making sure they received a 5 star dining experience. As far as the food, it’s ridiculously mediocre. You will be paying well over $200 (usd) for bland/tasteless, and extremely sparse food and the cocktails are $20+ and contain zero alcohol. We both left the restaurant hungry and disappointed. I also want to point out the way the waiter threw the napkin on my lap! It wasn’t gently placed down and spread out like you’d normally expect at high end restaurants; the waiter picked it up from the table, dropped it on me all folded up and walked away. I feel very disheartened having to post this review because I was really looking forward to my visit at Viceroy after hearing great reviews from friends but unfortunately I would never recommend this place to anyone I know. Initially our plan was to spend one night at the hotel and receive the “full experience” but I’m now 100% happy that we made last minute changes to our reservation and chose another place to stay during our trip to Cabo. The ONLY positive thing I can say about this dining experience is that at least the live band was decent!…
Have stayed multiple times at most of the best properties in Los Cabos but lately the Viceroy has moved to the top of our list. The views are stunning and we love the modern style of the property. Has the best hotel gym in Los Cabos. The food (especially Nido) and the staff were beyond excellent. The spa at the hotel is world class. Nice location because you can easily walk to town to explore more.
Viceroy is such a unique and beautiful resort. You feel relaxed and pampered the entire time. The staff is incredibly attentive and kind. Food was delicious, especially Nido!! Perfect for solo travelers, friend trips or romantic getaways. Would definitely stay here again!
Gorgeous hotel but there is no plan to offer easy covid tests. No guarantees that their partners will be quick and that they can handle a surge in tests. Also, the cost for the testing is a money grab. If they are not getting a kick back then this hotel doesn’t know how to vet partnerships. Absolutely no reason why a pcr test should cost more than $20. They want hundreds.
Our experience at the Viceroy was absolutely incredible. The service started with day to day communication with the concierge prior to our trip. They helped arrange activities, reservations and more. The service at the hotel is incredible. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous. The food at all restaurants is absolutely incredible. We loved our stay so much that we extended! I cannot recommend this hotel enough and I cannot wait to plan my trip back!
