Hotel's Favorite
This is a beautiful & luxurious resort on the beach, with lots of amenities onsite. We were pleased that our 1 bedroom garden view has a partial ocean view, large balcony, large kitchen and bathroom. Housekeeping came more often than expected. We wanted for nothing. There are 3 restaurants with excellent menus on the property, huge pool and 2 jacuzzis, with a separate children's pool. The employees greet us every time we pass them, and they are solicitous without being over-bearing. Great place for a family!

I am a Diamond Owner and of the last 3 stays, we have been a victim of identity theft twice. The first time last October, someone was ghosting me while I was online in my hotel room and stole my login information from the two sites I visited and then made purchases on the Wednesday after we arrived home. Now, my oldest son stayed there with two of his friends using my points and only used their credit cards on the resort (used currency off the resort) and both him and his best friend's credit card information was stolen and used to make unauthorized purchases. They used the credit cards only at Check in, at the pool bar and the small onsite mini grocery store. Go ahead Cabo Azul, explain how this happened. We will never again go back to what used to be our favorite Diamond resort....no more.

This was a gorgeous resort--the design (kind of a modern meet gothic vibe) was really nicely executed. We were there in the low season and felt like we had plenty of options at the pools or in the restaurants, which was nice, though I could imagine it feeling crowded during high season. We booked a room at a deep discount and they weren't kidding that there was no view--our balcony literally faced a wall a few feet away, but it was kind of nice for privacy. The room itself was immaculately clean, and we liked that there was a divider to separate the living room from the bedroom. The bathroom was gorgeous and spacious. The shower water pressure was a little weak, but oh well. There were two sinks which made it nice for us to not have to share space, and the toilet was in its own little room (with a fan). Loved the swim up bar, didn't try the restaurants but did eat room service twice--it was pretty good and fairly reasonable. The location was pretty good to be able to walk across the street to the plaza with restaurants. Note that you can't swim at the beach even though you can look at it. The staff were ok though rather pushy about trying to get us to spend time at the timeshare presentation when we were really clear we wouldn't be doing that. We did appreciate that they let us have late checkout. Though there was way too long of a line for check-out. The gym was quite nice--very modern machines and a nice big weight area. Overall, we'd definitely stay there again if we could get a deep discount, not sure if we had to pay retail:)

My husband and I just stayed at Cabo Azul for four nights and had a very nice stay. The staff at check in were very good. Everyone friendly, so no complaints in that department. Also free valet or self serve parking. Very convenient. Our room was quite large, just a standard room with King bed bedroom and a balcony looking over the pool. Had separate sleeper sofa, refrigerator and coffee maker. They also have Star bucks and a small market for morning coffee which we loved! Housekeeping was great. Room was very clean. Actually twice we left the “do not disturb” Sign on the door because we didn’t need anything, and both times they left a message on our phone asking to let them know if we needed anything. Very attentive. My husband dropped something on the floor and it rolled under the bed, and there he found a small card that read “Yes, we clean here too!” Impressive. This is a Time Share property so there were many people there that were owners, so a very nice group of guests. The grounds are lovely and well maintained. I actually saw a man with a thermometer testing the water temperature in the pool! It was nice and cool despite the hot days and nights. Nice large three level infinity pool, so never too crowded. The pool bar was nice with 2/1 drinks happy hour 5-8 pm. Good deal and delicious mango margaritas with fresh mango purée. We ate lunch twice, club sandwich and fruit platter. Delicious. We had breakfast at Javiers once, very good, but we ate outside the hotel the rest of the time. Yes, we did the Timeshare presentation. Took only 2hours in the morning. They are not too pushy, and it was well worth the food and beverage credit they gave us. Honestly, we ate and drank all day for free with some money left over with the credit they gave us. Well worth it. We would definitely stay again, next time maybe bring the family and stay in a 3 bedroom villa. The kids and grandkids would love it! I would confidently recommend this hotel for your stay. Family friendly, so quiet at night too. Never heard a door slam! Hope you have a great trip if you go.
