REVIEW OF HYATT ZIVA LOS CABOS – 30NOV-06DEC, 2022 Located 15 minutes from Los Cabos airport – Beachfront near San Jose Del Cabo. Walking distance to little cute town and shops. But honestly no need to leave the property! So our experience started before we ever got on the plane and we had made our reservations 2 nights before our arrival online. We had been deciding between a 2 bedroom suite or the other option and ended up we booked a 1 bedroom master ocean view suite and a separate master ocean view double room, and was going to request to see if could be near our room, since this option looked to be more square footage. However reservations/rooms manager Laura Avila reached out to me first, on her own, the following day, to let me know that our suite was premium level and the ocean view double we booked was not club level and could be further away in the property and did we care to have that room adjacent or adjoining to ours, and if so, she was happy to provide that option to confirm for us, with the upcharge. So she anticipated our expectations, and resolved it before we ever got there. This was impressive on many levels. Stepping out of the private transfer, which was arranged seamlessly through the hotel concierge staff, there was a “wow moment” as we entered the hotel lobby. As first impressions go, it was hard not to be impressed. The jaw dropping view through the lobby over the pools and eyes finally resting on the gorgeous stretch of beach shimmering in front of you The color blue was intense and bright, as the interior decor surrounding you was fresh, modern yet luxurious yet warm and inviting style with warmth of woodwork design details. The facilities/dining: Upon arrival we were whisked away to a private check in and shown the exclusive lounge for the club level guests, which was such a cool hang out space with a pool table and outdoor seating with their own snacks and beverages to satisfy anytime of the day. There were quite a few water features including a massive sparkling blue free form pool, family friendly pool, swim up bar as well as swim up suites, and serene adult only area and pool. There were cozy firepit and chic seating areas just off the lobby and dotted all around the property and along the sparkling white sand beachfront offered a super cool vibe. I also noted immediately the angles the hotel was built, seemed to offer the most amount of ocean view rooms. The ambiance at the resort is unique, upbeat and great music playing around the pools, along with an impressive staff filled with activities, but you could also find some peaceful and zen locations to just take it all in. Nothing was ever over the top or too much as far as noise and overall just enjoyed the fun atmosphere that surrounded, but totally enjoyed what I would call a fantastic laid back vacation that catered to everyone. Adults, couples, families, definitely something for everyone. There were an abundance of daytime and evening activities to participate in, with glamorous las Vegas style shows in the evening that were super entertaining and fun, as well as a fantastic kids club, basketball and tennis courts. On the way to our accommodations, we were given information on the several restaurants on site, and actually there were so many I lost count at that time, but knew there were more options than days we had to fill them with. Everything from Sushi and teppanyaki grill to Italian, adults only French bistro and a Latin grill, seafood, even a fabulous little taco bar at one pool and quesadilla truck at the family pool. The food was really exceptional in most places, and to be honest everyone in my party is an extreme foody, so we didn’t think that we would be impressed by the all-inclusive options, but were we wrong. However the Italian, was totally fine to bring the kids but food to be honest was only average here. The rest were above and beyond what I have had at any all-inclusive. Not your standard buffet of bland food, absolutely freshest seasonal fruits, and even tailor made buffet for kids, it was all fresh, unique and made with pride and passion and above all, was really good and tremendous variety. There were more bars than we had a chance to even step into, a tequila bar, sports bar, juice bar, 24 hour coffee house with pastries and snacks, again the list seem endless. We had only time to peek into the gym, and had super modern equipment and the spa was quite luxurious and had outdoor cabanas in which to enjoy treatments. Nice touch! We saw two weddings and each one was set up more gorgeous than the next – the first one on the beach with original and beautiful arches and special walkways placed to walk along the beach, that were lined with feathered plants which swayed in the wind, twinkling lights and beautiful dance floor even laid out on the beach. It was Magical. The second wedding was romantic with draped white runners surrounding a perfect gazebo for the bride and groom where they said their vows on the far side of the pool also facing the beach. Both were stunning. The rooms/suite The 1 BEDROOM MASTER OCEANVIEW SUITE WITH ADJOINING that we booked were incredibly spacious and meticulously clean with super comfy beds and linens. The rooms we had, all had lovely furnished balconies which had fabulous views that overlooked the ocean and the gorgeous water features in the center of the grounds. The bathrooms were massive and had two large closets, a rainfall shower, elegant jacuzzi tubs and tons of storage. I understand that not all rooms have walk out balconies, so be sure to check on that. WHAT THEY DO RIGHT>>>>>THE STAFF and the SERVICE– In each and everyone one of our opinions in our party and whatever guest we met, all felt the same. The staff and the service is number one at this resort, and can not say enough good things about EVERY SINGLE STAFF. They took such genuine pride in serving you and meeting your needs, even sometimes before you knew you needed anything. They went above and beyond on so many occasions that it would be impossible to list them all. But it starts at the top, so to the general manager and Fabrizio, my hats off to you again, for truly showing that a property that might not be the absolute top 5 start 5 diamond resort, but offers that level of service! Incredible they were ALL so invested in every guest having a wonderful experience with a hand over the heart gesture, it just warmed you and you felt the hospitality. Definitely the hardest working and most caring staff I have ever seen anywhere. Period. Examples: One night I had an emergency to get some work done with a strict deadline and almost 11pm at night they sent an IT guy there Pablo and he stayed, replaced the router, set up separate id for us and away we went to work! Unreal. Another night, we were walking out from the elevator near the Cortez restaurant at night to go over to Zaffiro and out of nowhere, appeared someone to light up the walkway and walk with my 90 year old mother in her walker. Alexander at the pool, in charge of the cabanas, he was amazing. He asked everyday how we were, setup our cabanas, asked where we were going to eat that night, what we liked the night before. Mentioned my mother loved homemade chili rellenos, and viola, that next night, he had the F&B manager Graciela, come over to me to let me know they would make some just for my mom. WHAT??? WHO DOES THAT. so grateful for that, and then they made a private special birthday cake for me as well, that I knew nothing about. Again, too many things to make mention of but to everyone there, we miss you and cant wait to come back, in fact, may move in! Graciella Malabe Alexander Luis Lopez Fabrizio Everyone in La Plaza Housekeeping ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT: - Some of the rooms need updates and refreshing – - Some rooms lacking balconies - Restaurant quality in the Italian restaurant - Definitely better selections of wine to be offered, both to regular and premium guests. But on the other hand the offerings and selections of sprits top shelf was outstanding, so no reason they cant improve the wine selection on the all inclusive program. - Some wifi spotty at times - Cabanas charge a bit high, and some should be offered free of charge for the handicapped/disabled. - Even in the regular rooms/suites there should be a handle or grab bar in the bathrooms, as the toilets are very low profile and can be difficult for anyone that has a bad knee, hip, etc to get up.…
