Our trip was unbelievable! So many great times and memories made! Big shout out to Sexy Charlie for making our trip even better with his fun activities, awesome attitude, and the genuine connection he makes with the guests! We will definitely be back!
An absolutely amazing stay at SPC, we are already planning our end of the year party at this magnificent resort. This was our 10th stay since they opened in 2014 and as always they made us feel at home. From the moment we arrived at the hotel the staff were incredible. Our fantastic oceanfront suite with Leonardo as our amazing concierge, he was fantastic and always hands on by booking our reservations and checking in with us to make sure everything went smoothly. The property is absolutely breathtaking, amazing views with its manicured lawns, beautiful gardens, very clean installations our room was spacious, and appointed with every amenity you’ll ever need, it smelled fresh and the nightly turn-down service added that magical touch after returning from the nightly dinner and activities. It’s truly paradise! Best of all the staff is unrivaled l! Every face you see is always shining with a smile and mist willing to give you the best experience on vacation. The restaurants are all phenomenal. Thank you to Cesar, our preferred club pool concierge always so pleasant to chat with and attentive making sure we had great towels and umbrellas set up on a daily basis, Salomon at poolside, always attentive to make sure we had the right drinks and water by our side. Eloy at Oceana, it’s always a pleasure to see you, you truly know how to make us feel special during our stay and also making sure we had reservations confirmed at the other magnificent restaurants. Leonel you’re a star, year after year you make us feel welcome and manage to remember our favorite drinks for breakfast and lunch, your attention to detail is always admirable. Maribel, Oscar and Elionel thank you for the attentiveness as well at Market Cafe. Vladimir at Himitsu, you and your staff made my birthday celebration an unforgettable experience. Thank you so much for the beautiful decorations at our table and the suggested menu was truly delicious. Thank you Anylu, Efer and Gerardo and Chef Josue, Marco and Chef Jonathan at Portofino, thank you for the menu suggestions and for making it a special dinning experience for us. The entire staff made my birthday celebration magical , you all made It an unforgettable and meaningful experience. We are very grateful for always making us feel like royalty, so special and taken care at Secrets Puerto Los Cabos. We definitely can not wait to come back!…
Went for a week mid May with my girlfriend to relax and have fun. The resort is beautiful and staff is overall great. Our typical day was sleeping in, grabbing breakfast or ordering room service, and then going to the pool for the majority of the day while also enjoying activities hosted by the entertainment staff throughout the day. In the evenings we would grab dinner, then check out the evening activity and hang out and enjoy the bar. The entertainment staff made our stay very enjoyable. If you like playing volleyball (water or on the grass), ping pong, or yoga, you will have a blast. We made a good friend with one of the staff, Robert, and enjoyed getting to know him along with the rest of the staff, including Brenda and Carlos. They all made each of the activities enjoyable, were always smiling, would come up and chat with us as we were hanging out at the pool. There are a couple things to be aware of. First, the "not high pressure" sales pitch, can definitely become high pressure. You are offered incentives to sign up for the pitch. The original offer is to get a discount on a boat tour, spa massage, romantic dinner) but they will make any of the options free if you initially say no. We originally selected the romantic dinner but a couple days after the pitch, we decided we wanted to change the reward from the dinner to the spa, but they were only offering us the original reward and had to pay $129 for the couples massage (original offer = $150 discount on it). They told us this was because they couldn't "re-open our file to change it", which I do not believe at all and despite my complaints they wouldn't change it. This experience was frustrating, but the massage was great. I do recommend choosing the boat tour out of the three original options (spa, boat tour, dinner) because you're getting inclusive food anyway that's pretty good, and the dinner locations (beach, president suite, good ocean view in a restaurant) had very limited availability (they will tell you all is available but you should check on this because only the ocean view from the restaurant was available). We did hear from other guests that they kept saying no and were eventually offered a free stay for a couple nights too. Additionally, we had an amazing pool server in Rigoberto. He was very attentive and would even bring us another round of drinks without us having to order from him. Pool servers sections change daily and we tried following him around due to his exceptional service. Unfortunately, we had two occasions of the other pool servers not being as attentive and it became apparent that if you didn't immediately provide a tip after the first round of drinks (we do tip, just sometimes didn't do it after first round of drinks), you may not get served at all for very long periods of time. When this happened we just went up to the bars ourselves, but would have been nice to not have to do that. We learned our lesson and tried to follow Rigoberto's section after this. Overall, very enjoyable trip. Couple of things to keep in mind when you're there to maximize your experience but if you're looking to enjoy days at the pool looking at at the beautiful ocean, Secrets provides a great experience.…
Hotel and staff top notch. Catered to our every need. Room was great.Hotel and rooms kept spotless the whole time. On site restaurants fantastic. Had a great time. Minor issue with booking in May with all of the weddings. Got a little rowdy at times.
This is our second visit to this beautiful location since 2015. We found the hard working and super friendly staff to be courteous and so helpful as they were before. It’s just there’s not enough of them to go around during peak hours. Upon our arrival, we received amazing hospitality with the Preferred Club staff. A special shout-out to Juan Carlos for his superior service in keeping us hydrated with adult beverages and lots of water. From the beauty of the ground keeping, to the attentive house keepers, spa and all great food in between, we were overall satisfied. A few staff we’d like to recognize for making our trip special were: Eloy - everywhere and every time we saw him he made us feel so special; Leonardo at El Patio in helping make our delicious anniversary dinner even more special; Lizbeth was so sweet and attentive at the Seaside Club; and Angel at Portofino was great; and the other Leonardo at Oceana was fantastic in helping us secure a hard to get cabana at the Oceana pool. Delores at Oceana made our final evening delightful for a great dinner and we really appreciate her. The only reason we didn’t rate this trip higher is because our reservation didn’t meet the expected upgrades we were told we’d get before our arrival and became a lengthy ordeal at check-in that could’ve been avoided. We had to pay over a thousand dollars more when we got here. But, we got a 100 dollar gift certificate so…, enough said. That, combined with the post presentation UVC sales pressure experience, took the rating down.…
We are UVC members and this is our “home resort.” We were so excited to come back here. We came with 4 other people hoping they would fall in love with AMR Resorts and UVC like we did but that didn’t happen. Food, service and basic requests (if understood by staff) are very inconsistent and minimal. The tablet in our room which is used to order room service and other requests such as booking a spa appointment NEVER WORKED. We have reported this 10 times over 5 days, no resolution. The bathtub leaked EVERYWHERE, water was disgusting. The main phone didn’t work either so we had to order from the bathroom phone. We sat on hold for up to 21 minutes every time we called to order food or report issues with our room. We also requested a king size bed as my husband is 6’5, no help. We said we would pay if needed but “they were fully booked.” I know this isn't true because you can call and book a preferred suite. Lines for the only restaurant open for breakfast. Food ran out at outdoor theme nights. Long line to make a reservation at Asian restaurant too. Waste of time. So disappointing, we won’t be back. The UVC employees were friendly and tried to assist with all the issues listed above but even they couldn’t get help.…
This is our 5th time going to this resort, first time with our older kids. The resort is beautiful and the service is always top notch. We love the Baracuda swing bar on the beach, Solomon and Fernando remember our names, and what we like to drink every time we visit. The restaurants are very good and there is a great variety. We will definitely be back for trip #6
I'm actually a UVC member and Ive been to several of their properties around Mexico. It's very nice, the food is great, but my only personal issues are: 1. Despite being right next to the beach, you only really get a view of the ocean if you're in a Ocean-View room. The rest of the property sits in a valley of sorts, and you don't ever get to see the ocean... so it kinda keels like you didn't go to Cabo at all. 2. By far the most understaffed Hotel. The workers are EXCELLENT, and they go above nd beyond the call of duty to make sure yore happy... but unfortunately the management at Secrets understaffs the resort. My last night there, i waited bear.y 2 hours from the moment i walked in the restaurant, to get my main dish. So I've been here twice so far, and spent nearly $500/night... Safe to say Ill be going to Breathless next time.…
We made reservations for the Hibachi grill service here and it was amazing!! Charlie (our cook) was so friendly, attentive and entertaining! He definitely made our experience an amazing one! Thanks Charlie!!
Last time I traveled to Mexico was 40+ yrs ago with bad experiences, so I was very hesitant (come from Orange County, CA). Secrets was a wonderful surprise and a great resort but you really need to purchase the “Preferred Club” to really enjoy it. The building I’d suggest is building 6. You are close to everything and you have a private pool if you want to get away from the crowd. I liked the safe in the room and really enjoyed the jacuzzi on the balcony, although the cold water didn’t have much pressure so it took a bit to fill up. At Secrets, money talks, so tipping well for the hard work, very friends staff makes the trip great and helps others. We probably tipped about $100 - $125 total (combination of $5 and $10 tips, a few times, goes a long way) The staff remembers your name and will take great care of you. Be sure to check out the iPad (in your room) so you don’t miss any activities and there are quite a few. The dinners were great and with the help of someone in your preferred lounge, you can make your reservations in advance and probably want to. Of course you can make friends with the manager at the Oceania (preferred club restaurant) and he’ll take care of you as well. Again, we usually tipped at every interaction and if we needed a favor we tipped as well. We did visit Flora Farms which is a must and that was delicious and wonderful. We also went into the small town of San Jose, that’s worth the quick 10 minute drive but a few hours is all you need. Don’t want to be there in the evening or when things slow down after 2 or 3pm (unofficial siesta). I rated it 5 stars because in the evenings, with the music, the lighting and the sounds of the waves it’s truly wonderful. I made myself stop and be present to enjoy the ambiance. We were there for 5 nights which was enough for us. Oh and bring inflatable floaties for the pool, lounge/hammock type, that was sooo much fun to be in the water, soak up the sun and sip on a beverage. All you need is there but if we didn’t do preferred we’d be quite a bit away from everything and I’m sure the experience wouldn’t be as satisfying. Hope this helps and enjoy your stay!…
